An object-parameter approach to predicting unknown data in incomplete fuzzy soft sets

Incomplete data in soft sets lead to uncertainty and inaccuracy in representing and handling information. This paper introduces notions of complete distance between two objects and relative dominance degree between two parameters. Based on both the notions, an object-parameter method is proposed to predict unknown data in incomplete fuzzy soft sets. The proposal makes full use of known data, including the information from the relationship between known values of all objects on a certain parameter and the information from the relationship between known values of an object on all parameters. The effectiveness of the proposal is verified by many examples under the compared investigation of classical predicted methods.     

Improved solution for inventory model with defective goods

This paper is a consequence for a paper of Lin et al. [S.W. Lin, Y.W. Wou, P. Julian, Note on minimax distribution free procedure for integrated inventory model with defective goods and stochastic lead time demand, Appl. Math. Model. 35 (2011) 2087–2093]. We simplified their complicated solution procedure and then presented a revision to patch their negligence for the boundary minimums. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate our findings.     

A sharper uncertainty principle

The work strengthens the result established by L. Cohen on uncertainty principle involving phase derivative. We propose stronger uncertainty principles not only in the classical setting for Fourier transform, but also for self-adjoint operators. We also deduce the conditions that give rise to the equal relation of the uncertainty principle. Examples are provided to show that the new uncertainty principle is truly sharper than the existing ones in literature.

Recent studies of agent incentives in internet resource allocation and pricing

Market makers choose and design market rules to serve certain objectives, such as to maximize revenue from the sales in the case of a single seller and multiple buyers. Given such rules, market participants play against each other to maximize their utility function values on goods acquired, possibly by hiding or misrepresenting their information needed in the implementation of market rules. Today’s Internet economy has changed the information collection process and may make some of the assumptions of market rule implementation obsolete. Here we make a fresh review of works on this challenge on the Internet where new economic systems operate.
