Reaction of bromoform and iodoform with acrylic monomers initiated by Fe(CO)5+DMF

Conclusions The Fe(CO)₅ + DMF system, in contrast to peroxide initiation, permits us to carry out the addition of bromoform with selective cleavage of the C-Br bond to readily polymerizing acrylonitrile, methyl acrylate, and methyl methacrylate. 13C NMR spectra of polyiodosubstituted compounds and structural increments in the chemical shifts for carbon in polyiodoalkanes

On a development possibility of a tunable microwave passband filter based on dielectric resonator with high TC film

Measurements of temperature dependence of "YBa₂Cu₃O_7-x thin film on SrTiO₃ substrate" structure effective impedance have been performed in 8-mm wave band by means of quasioptical dielectric resonator with whyspering gallery modes. This dependence appeared to be a series of quasiperiodical oscillation peaks of high steepness. Experiments on investigation of external electric field impact on parameters of the resonator loaded by the structure were carried out. It was found that electric field up to 3 kV/cm leads to a shift of the effective impedance temperature dependence to lower temperature and doesn't impact on the form of the dependence. Herewith the field of 2.5 kV/cm causes a shift of the resonator frequency by 108 MHz with negligible reduction of the loaded quality factor Q_L (less than in 1.5 times). Operating frequency was 35 GHz and loaded quality was about 10³. A proposal about possibility of tunable passband filter design and ways of retuning bandwidth enhancment are discussed.     

Investigation of the stability of the inverse spectroscopic problem of diatomic molecules

The stability and convergence of the inverse spectroscopic problem is investigated for diatomic molecules in the¹ electron state for a potential representation by series in the Dunham variable z_d=(r-r_e)/r_e, the Ogilvie-Tipping z_ot=(r-r_e)/(r + r_e), the Simmond-Parr-Finlan z_S= (r-r_e)/r and the Tucker z_t=sign (p)[1 -(r_e/r)^P]. None among the representations under investigation was that which would give a significant systematic improvement in stability as compared with others. The convergence is related to the selection of the initial approximation in the method of least squares, and is practically independent of the functional form of the potential. Telomerization of acrylic monomers with iodoform

Conclusions Together with dimethylformamide, iron pentacarbonyl initiates the telomerization of acrylonitrile, methyl acrylate, and methyl methacrylate with iodoform, resulting in the formation of telomeric homologs of the series CHI₂(CH₂CRI)_nR and CHI₂(CH₂CHR)_nR (n=1, 2; R=H, CH₃; R=CN, COOCH₃).Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 10, pp. 2284–2287, October, 1985.
