On Sequential Separability

A new criterion for the sequential separability of the space C(X) of continuous real-valued functions on X in the topology of simple convergence is obtained.     

Numerical simulation of viscous transonic flows over an airfoil

High Reynolds number viscous transonic flow is described based on an interaction of the potential outer flow with the boundary layer and wake. Following the procedure of Lighthill (1958), the solutions in these domains are matched to each other through boundary conditions. The solution to the complete problem is obtained iteratively through successive computations of the flows in the outer and inner domains. Both old and new algorithms are used for the iteration process and subsequent problem solution. Results are given for all the airfoils from the Experimental Data Base for Computer Program Assessment (AGARD-AR-138, 1979). A comparison of these results with experimental data shows the degree of agreement between these unbounded airfoil flow simulations and real transonic flow over the central part of a straight wing.     

Synthesis,region of existence,structural characteristics,and conductivity of BI(CR,FE)VOX solid solutions

The results of our studies of solid solutions of the general composition Bi₄V_{2 − x} Fe _x/2Cr _x/2O_{11 − δ} are presented. The crystal-chemical parameters of different polymorphic modifications of BIMEVOX were determined. The particle size distribution was determined by laser diffraction and optical microscopy. The surface of sintered preforms was studied by scanning electron microscopy. The conductivity of sintered poly-crystalline samples as a function of temperature and composition was studied by impedance spectroscopy. The conductivity was depends on the procedure for the synthesis of solid solutions. The most promising compositions were revealed.     

Critical line broadening of the EPR in the two-dimensional antiferromagnet crystals Rb2MnCl4 and Rb2Mn0,8Cd0,2Cl4

The EPR spectrum of quasi-two-dimensional antiferromagnets Rb₂Mn_xCd_1?xCl₄ (x=1,0; 0,8) has been studied in a critical temperature range. Two theoretical approaches - the scaling theory and the soliton's theory - are used to explain experimental data on temperature of the EPR linewidth. In the first interpretation critical exponents are determined. For both crystal two temperature regions with different critical exponents are found. It is shown that the soliton's theory with an anomaleous great excitement energy describes the experimental data satisfactory.     

Iron pentacarbonyl halogen initiated reaction of ethyl acetoacetate and acetylacetone with acrylic monomers

Conclusions The iron pentacarbonyl-bromine system initiates the addition reactions of ethyl acetoacetate and acetylacetone with the double bonds of acrylic monomers.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 11, pp. 2550–2555, November, 1984.
