Study on the isomeric ratios of (γ,p) photonuclear reactions with isotopes 40 92 Zr and 74 183 W in the giant dipole resonance region

We have carried out the study on the isomeric ratios in (γ,p) photonuclear reactions with isotopes ₄₀ ⁹² Zr and ₇₄ ¹⁸³ W in the giant dipole resonance (GDR) region. The targets were irradiated with bremsstrahlungs produced by electron accelerator Microtron MT-25 of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna, Russia. Spectra of the irradiated samples were measured with a spectroscopic system consisting of 8192-channel analyzer CANBERRA and high-energy resolution semiconductor detector CANBERRA. The results were discussed and compared with those of other authors. The text was submitted by the authors in English.     

Structural studies of the chemical constituents of Tithonia tagetiflora Desv. (Asteraceae)

Tithonia tagetiflora Desv. (Asteraceae) is a widespread plant in Vietnam, and the species of Tithonia are known as plants containing many biologically active compounds. However, T. tagetiflora's chemical composition remains mostly unknown. Therefore, we now report the structural elucidation of two new sesquiterpene lactones, 8‐angeloyloxy‐2,14‐epoxygermacra‐4,10(1),11(13)‐trien‐6,12‐olide (1) and 6‐angeloyloxy‐1‐hydroxy‐3,4‐epoxygermacra‐9,11(13)‐dien‐8,12‐olide (2), together with three known compounds, including two norisoprenoids, (6S,9S)‐vomifoliol or (6R,9R)‐vomifoliol (3) and (6S,9S)‐roseoside (4), and one glutinane type triterpene, epi‐glutinol (5), from the leaves of T. tagetiflora. Infrared investigation of benzene to 30 GPa transformation to a polymer

Abstract

After a pressure cycle to 30 GPa, benzene transforms to a white solid which can be recovered at ambient. Results obtained from infrared spectroscopy and other physico-chemical methods show that the recovered solid is a highly cross-linked polymer. The molecular structure of benzene is very likely completely altered by the transformation.     

Fast and continuous isolation of short-lived mercury isotopes from diluted sulphuric acid solution

The seconds living mercury isotopes have been isolated from nuclear reaction products arising in the bombardment of ¹⁴⁷Sm target with ⁴⁰Ar ions at the U-400 cyclotron of JINR-Dubna.     

Optimality Conditions and Stability Analysis via the Mordukhovich Subdifferential

This article shows that finite-dimensional multiplier rules, which are based on the limiting subdifferential, can be proved by Ekeland's variational principle and some basic calculus tools of the generalized differentiation theory introduced by B. S. Mordukhovich. Consequences of a limiting constraint qualification, which yields the normal form of the multiplier rules, stability and calmness of optimization problems, are investigated in detail.     

Synthesis,photopolymerization, and adhesive properties of new bisphosphonic acid monomers for dental application

Four new monomers, 3‐(N‐methylacrylamido)propylidenebisphosphonic acid, 3‐(N‐propyl‐acrylamido)propylidenebisphosphonic acid, 3‐(N‐hexylacrylamido)propylidenebisphosphonic acid, and 3‐(N‐octylacrylamido)propylidenebisphosphonic acid, have been synthesized in good yields and fully characterized by ¹H, ¹³C, ³¹P NMR, and HRMS. The copolymerization of these monomers with N,N′‐diethyl‐1,3‐bis(acrylamido)propane (DEBAAP) has been investigated with differential scanning calorimetry. These mixtures show a higher reactivity than DEBAAP. New self‐etch dental primers, based on these acrylamide monomers, have been formulated. Dentin shear bond strength measurements have shown that primers based on these bisphosphonic acids assure a strong bond between the tooth substance and a dental composite. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Meromorphic solutions of equations over non-Archimedean fields

In this paper, we give some conditions to assure that the equation P(X)=Q(Y) has no meromorphic solutions in all K, where P and Q are polynomials over an algebraically closed field K of characteristic zero, complete with respect to a non-Archimedean valuation. In particular, if P and Q satisfy the hypothesis (F) introduced by H. Fujimoto, a necessary and sufficient condition is obtained when deg P=deg Q. The results are presented in terms of parametrization of a projective curve by three entire functions. In this way we also obtain similar results for unbounded analytic functions inside an open disk.      

Highly sensitive fluorescent sensor targeting CuCl2 based on thiophene attached anthracene compound (TA)

A novel thiophene attached anthracene (TA) based fluorescent compound was designed and synthesized. The TA showed a high quantum yield (Qy = 0.34) in regard to fluorescence. We applied this TA compound to detect specific metal compound and found that it could identify CuCl₂ from other metals through dramatic fluorescence change at λ_max = 460 nm. It showed strong quenching fluorescence property with CuCl₂ while with other metal compounds it exhibited strong blue fluorescence emission. UV/Vis absorption spectroscopy clearly demonstrated that the quenching property of TA at λ_max = 460 nm was due to overlapping of the fluorescence peak of TA at λ_max = 460 nm and the absorption band of CuCl₂ (from 190 nm to 525 nm). Binding constant (K′), which was 0.0895 mM^?2, indicated a complexation ratio between TA and CuCl₂ as 1:2 and this interaction induced quenching property.
