Efficient water-soluble catalytic system RhI-CAP for biphasic hydroformylation of olefins

Rhodium-catalysed hydroformylation of styrene and aliphatic olefins under biphasic conditions in the presence of watersoluble 1,4,7-triaza-9-phosphatricyclo[5.3.2.1^4,9]tridecane (CAP) chemoselectively affords aldehydes. Multiple catalyst reuse without loss in performance is demonstrated.     

Efficient synthesis and structure peculiarity of macrocycles with bi-indolizinylquinoxalinone moieties

Monoindolizinylquinoxalinepodands, easily available from indolizinylquinoxalines and various dihalides, undergo smooth oxidative dimerization in the presence of molecular iodine to afford corresponding macrocycles in good yields in a short reaction time. The use of inexpensive and readily available molecular iodine makes this method quite simple, more convenient, and practical. In solution the title macrocycles exist in an equilibrium of several conformations arising from restricted rotation around the Ind–Qx bonds (ca. C₂ symmetrical and nonsymmetrical forms). The population of the forms and exchange rate between them depends strongly on the spacer type (length).     

13C NMR spectroscopy of copoly(arylenephthalide) derivatives with diphenyloxide and terphenyl fragments in the main chain

¹H and ¹³С NMR spectral assignments have been provided for low‐molecular reference monomers, poly(diphenyleneoxidephthalide) and periodic copoly(arylenephthalide) derivatives such as AB, ABB, and ABBB (where A = terphenylenephthalide and B = diphenyleneoxidephthalide) using ¹H‐¹H COSY, ¹H‐¹³C HSQC and HMBC NMR techniques. Distinctive ¹³C NMR chemical shifts of a main chain have been observed containing fragments of similar structures and lateral phthalate groups being part of various diads.
