Analysis of thermal desorption spectra of oxygen desorbed from rhodium

Thermal desorption spectra of oxygen desorbed from rhodium have been analyzed in terms of models accounting for the effect of lateral interactions between adsorbed particles and of their diffusion into the bulk of metal on the desorption kinetics of O₂. Complex configuration of these spectra is ascribed to the processes of formation/decomposition of surface Rh oxides and the diffusion of particles into the near-surface layers of metal and back to the surface.

Determination of the Working Exchange Capacity of Weakly Basic Polyacrylic Anionites

The nonequilibrium dynamics of sorption of hydrochloric acid by weakly basic polyacrylic anionites was studied. Ozonides with the tetrahydroquinoline and dehydroabietic fragments

Acid-catalyzed three-component condensation of methyl 12-aminodehydroabietate, aromatic aldehydes, and cyclopentadiene gave methyl (4R)-4-aryl-6-isopropyl-10,13a-dimethyl-3a,4,5,8,9,9a,10,11,12,13,13a,13d-dodecahydro-3H-cyclopenta[c]naphtho[1,2-f]quinoline-10-carboxylates and their (4S)-diastereomers. Ozonolysis of the double bond in their N-trifluoroacetyl derivatives synthesized from the (4R)-diastereomers afforded the corresponding ozonides with the (1S,4R,5aS,6R,11aR,12R,15aS,15dR)-configuration.     

Recording medium based on a polymer azobenzene complex with cobalt for polarization holography

We have recorded holograms in films of a 4-methacroyloxy-(4′-carboxy-3′-hydroxy)-2-chloroazobenzene polycomplex with cobalt, for parallel and orthogonal orientation of the light beam polarization. The increase in the diffraction efficiency of the holograms and the decrease in their relaxation time in the case of orthogonal polarization compared with the case of parallel polarization of the recording light beams are connected with features of the structural rearrangement of the polymer matrix. We hypothesize that the information-related characteristics of the recording medium created can be controlled by external electric or magnetic fields, due to the presence of magnetic metal ions in the composition of the medium. Magnetic configurations in the region of a nanocontact between ferromagnetic bars

A numerical solution to the Landau-Lifshitz and magnetostatics equations is used to study the residual magnetic configurations as functions of magnetic and geometrical parameters in the region of a magnetic nanocontact between oppositely magnetized ferromagnetic electrodes in the form of bulk bars. The conditions for the emergence of antiparallel orientations of adjacent spins and the domain wall in the conducting channel are determined.     

New mechanism of formation of virtual surface magnetic polaritons

By using an easy-axis antiferromagnetic material as an example, the conditions are found under the fulfillment of which, the quadratic magneto-optical interaction in an external dc electric field perpendicular to the easy axis gives rise to the formation of a new type of virtual surface magnetic TM polaritons at the interface both between an antiferromagnet and an ideal metal and between an antiferromagnet and vacuum.

Simulation of the reaction front propagation during co oxidation on Pt (100) under unsteady-state conditions

Acid tetrabutylammonium salts of Ti(IV)-monosubstituted heteropolytungstate, PW₁₁TiO₄₀ ⁵⁻, show high catalytic acitivity in the oxidation of methyl phenyl sulfide with hydrogen peroxide, while the corresponding tetrabutylammonium salts containing no protons are poor catalysts for this reaction.     

Correlation femtoscopy of Λ hyperons in the SELEX experiment

Study of the correlations of two identical particles with a small relative difference in their 4-momenta can provide information on the space-time behavior of a source and the shape of the potential between the particles. Our study of correlations is based on the SELEX experimental data. From a set of events involving Λ pairs, we selected the approximately ∼2600 such events with the best kinematical parameters, on the basis of which the preliminary results from our analysis of ΛΛ system correlations are presented.
