The thermodynamic quantities associated to the transformation from graphite to multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were determined by electromotive force (emf) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurements. From the emf versus T data of galvanic cell Mo|Cr(3)C(2), CrF2, MWCNTs|CaF2 s.c.|Cr(3)C(2), CrF2, graphite|Mo with CaF2 as solid electrolyte, Delta(r)H(T) degrees= 8.25 +/- 0.09 kJ mol(-1) and Delta(r)S(T) degrees= 11.72 +/- 0.09 JK(-1) mol(-1) were found at average temperature T = 874 K. The transformation enthalpy was also measured by DSC of the Mn(7)C(3) formation starting from graphite or MWCNTs. Thermodynamic values at 298 K were calculated to be: Delta(r)H(298) degrees = 9.0 +/- 0.8 kJ mol(-1) as averaged value from both techniques and Delta(r)S(298) degrees approximately Delta(r)S(T) degrees. At absolute zero, the residual entropy of MWCNTs was estimated 11.63 +/- 0.09 JK(-1) mol(-1), and transformation enthalpy Delta(r)H(0) degrees approximately Delta(r)H(298) degrees. The latter agrees satisfactorily with the theoretical calculations for the graphite-MWCNTs transformation. On thermodynamic basis, the transformation becomes spontaneous above 704 +/- 13 K.  相似文献

Due to the widespread use of sandwich structures in many industries and the importance of understanding their mechanical behavior, this paper studies the thermomechanical buckling behavior of sandwich beams with a functionally graded material (FGM) middle layer and two composite external layers. Both composite skins are made of Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) reinforced by carbon-nano-tubes (CNTs). The properties of the FGM core are predicted through an exponential-law and power-law theory (E&P), whereas an Eshelby–Mori–Tanaka (EMT) formulation is applied to capture the mechanical properties of the external layers. Moreover, different high-order displacement fields are combined with a virtual displacement approach to derive the governing equations of the problem, here solved analytically based on a Navier-type approximation. A parametric study is performed to check for the impact of different core materials and CNT concentrations inside the PMMA on the overall response of beams resting on a Pasternak substrate and subjected to a hygrothermal loading. This means that the sensitivity analysis accounts for different displacement fields, hygrothermal environments, and FGM theories, as a novel aspect of the present work. Our results could be replicated in a computational sense, and could be useful for design purposes in aerospace industries to increase the tolerance of target productions, such as aircraft bodies.  相似文献

AuIII complexes with N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands have shown remarkable potential as anticancer agents, yet their fate in vivo has not been thoroughly examined and understood. Reported herein is the synthesis of new AuIII-NHC complexes by direct oxidation with radioactive [124I]I2 as a valuable strategy to monitor the in vivo biodistribution of this class of compounds using positron emission tomography (PET). While in vitro analyses provide direct evidence for the importance of AuIII-to-AuI reduction to achieve full anticancer activity, in vivo studies reveal that a fraction of the AuIII-NHC prodrug is not immediately reduced after administration but able to reach the major organs before metabolic activation.  相似文献

Urine proteomic applications in children suggested their potential in discriminating between healthy subjects from those with respiratory diseases. The aim of the current study was to combine protein fractionation, by urinary extracellular vesicle isolation, and proteomics analysis in order to establish whether different patterns of respiratory impedance in healthy preschoolers can be characterized from a protein fingerprint. Twenty-one 3–5-yr-old healthy children, representative of 66 recruited subjects, were selected: 12 late preterm (LP) and 9 full-term (T) born. Children underwent measurement of respiratory impedance through Forced Oscillation Technique (FOT) and no significant differences between LP and T were found. Unbiased clustering, based on proteomic signatures, stratified three groups of children (A, B, C) with significantly different patterns of respiratory impedance, which was slightly worse in group A than in groups B and C. Six proteins (Tripeptidyl peptidase I (TPP1), Cubilin (CUBN), SerpinA4, SerpinF1, Thy-1 membrane glycoprotein (THY1) and Angiopoietin-related protein 2 (ANGPTL2)) were identified in order to type the membership of subjects to the three groups. The differential levels of the six proteins in groups A, B and C suggest that proteomic-based profiles of urinary fractionated exosomes could represent a link between respiratory impedance and underlying biological profiles in healthy preschool children.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to evaluate the reactivity of an in-house antigen, extracted from a strain of C. posadasii isolated in northeastern Brazil, by radial immunodiffusion and Western blotting, as well as to establish its biochemical characterization. The protein antigen was initially extracted with the use of solid ammonium sulfate and characterized by 1-D electrophoresis. Subsequently, it was tested by means of double radial immunodiffusion and Western blotting. A positive reaction was observed against the antigen by both immunodiagnostic techniques tested on sera from patients suffering from coccidioidomycosis. Besides this, two immunoreactive protein bands were observed and were revealed to be a β-glucosidase and a glutamine synthetase after sequencing of the respective N-terminal regions. Our in-house Coccidioides antigen can be promising as a quick and low-cost diagnostic tool without the risk of direct manipulation of the microorganism.  相似文献

In this paper a workforce model is studied from both a theoretical and an algorithmic point of view. In the considered hierarchical model workforce units can be substituted by higher qualified ones; external workforce can also be hired to cover low qualified jobs. An exact recursive solution algorithm is proposed to solve the problems and its efficiency is improved by means of cut conditions and discrete convexity properties. The reactions of alkylperoxyl radicals with phenols have remained difficult to investigate in water. We describe herein a simple and reliable method based on the inhibited autoxidation of water/THF mixtures, which we calibrated against pulse radiolysis. With this method we measured the rate constants kinh for the reactions of 2‐tetrahydrofuranylperoxyl radicals with reference compounds: urate, ascorbate, ferrocenes, 2,2,5,7,8‐pentamethyl‐6‐chromanol, Trolox, 6‐hydroxy‐2,5,7,8‐tetramethylchroman‐2‐acetic acid, 2,6‐di‐tert‐butyl‐4‐methoxyphenol, 4‐methoxyphenol, catechol and 3,5‐di‐tert‐butylcatechol. The role of pH was investigated: the value of kinh for Trolox and 4‐methoxyphenol increased 11‐ and 50‐fold from pH 2.1 to 12, respectively, which indicate the occurrence of a SPLET‐like mechanism. H(D) kinetic isotope effects combined with pH and solvent effects suggest that different types of proton‐coupled electron transfer (PCET) mechanisms are involved in water: less electron‐rich phenols react at low pH by concerted electron‐proton transfer (EPT) to the peroxyl radical, whereas more electron‐rich phenols and phenoxide anions react by multi‐site EPT in which water acts as proton relay.  相似文献
