Electrospray ionization (ESI) mechanisms are highly complex, due to a series of physical and chemical phenomena taking place on a complex system, as a solution is. In fact, even if the solution of an analyte in a protic medium can be considered at first sight to be a two-component system, the presence of solvent dissociation equilibria and the possible interactions solvent-solvent dissociation products, solvent dissociation products-analyte make this system highly complex, also for the presence of possible ionic compounds (for example, Na(+), K(+)) which strongly affect the above equilibria. A high number of research articles have been published, mainly devoted to charged droplet production and to gas-phase ion generation. They all show the high complexity of the processes affecting electrospray measurements related to either the chemical equilibria present in the condensed phase and to electrolysis processes at the emitter tip or to the processes occurring in the sprayed droplets. As a result, the chemical composition inside the small droplets from which the analyte ions are generated can be significantly different from those in sprayed solution. In this review, after a short survey of the proposed ESI mechanisms, some experiments are described. They were performed to examine if ion mobility in solution, before the formation of the sprayed charged droplets, can affect the ESI results. The data, obtained by studying both inorganic and organic analytes, indicate that the ESI spectra are dependent on the analyte dimension and charge state which, as a consequence, affect their ion mobility in solution.  相似文献

A common criterion for designing performant single molecule magnets and pseudocontact shift tags is a large magnetic anisotropy. In this article we present a dysprosium complex chemically designed to exhibit strong easy-axis type magnetic anisotropy that is preserved in dichloromethane solution at room temperature. Our detailed theoretical and experimental studies on the magnetic properties allowed explaining several features typical of highly performant SMMs. Moreover, the NMR characterization shows remarkably large chemical shifts, outperforming the current state-of-the art PCS tags.

A robust dysprosium(iii) single molecule magnet with large uniaxial magnetic anisotropy induces pseudocontact shifts at almost doubled distance compared to standard shift agents.  相似文献

A method was developed for the determination of molybdenum (Mo) in human urine by direct dilution of the sample in doubly distilled water with 1% HNO3 (v/v) and inductively coupled mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). In and Y were used as internal standards. Since (98)Mo provides a higher sensitivity, it was chosen as the reference isotope. The influence of different factors, such as sample dilution, HNO3 concentration and the stability of the analyte were evaluated. The detection limit (LOD) was assessed at 0.2 microg/L Mo, while the lower limit of quantification (LOQ) was 0.6 microg/L. Recoveries ranged between 97.2 and 100.7% from solutions containing from 10 to 50 microg/L Mo. Linear calibration curves were generated from 2.1 and 52.1 microg/L with coefficients of variation (CV ) ranging from 1.62 to 3.56%. In order to establish reference values (RV) for molybdenum, the procedure presented here was used to determine Mo in the urine of a population group living in Tuscany, Italy.  相似文献

In this study, we present the aqueous solution behavior of two luminescent lanthanide antenna complexes (Eu3+? 1 , Dy3+? 9 ) with different ligand topologies in the presence of dipicolinic acid (DPA, pyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxylic acid). Macrocyclic (1,4,7,10‐tetraazacyclododecane‐1,4,7‐triacetic acid, DO3A, 9 ) and acyclic (1,4,7‐triazaheptane‐1,1,7,7‐tetraacetic acid, DTTA, 1 ) ligands have been selected to form a ratiometric pair in which Dy3+? 9 acts as a reference and Eu3+? 1 acts as a probe for the recognition of DPA. The pair of luminescent complexes in water reveals the capability to work as a DPA luminescent sensor. The change of emission intensity of Eu3+ indicates the occurrence of a new sensitization path for the lanthanide cation through excitation of DPA. NMR evidence implies the presence of free 1 and mass spectrometry shows the formation of emitting [EuDPA2]? as a result of a ligand exchange reaction.  相似文献

We provide a brief overview of our Hamiltonian approach to the the Kondo-lattice state at both finite Coulomb interaction U and nonzero applied magnetic field. In the mean-field approximation we introduce the spindependent effective masses, as well as calculate the effective Kondo (hybridization) temperature as a function of U. The effective interaction coming from the slave-boson exchange is shown to contain both the local (intraband) pairing and the Kondo (interband) interaction.  相似文献

Aqueous solutions of silicon nanocrystals have been obtained, by sonication, from porous Si (p-Si) aged in air for various times. The photoluminescence of these solutions changes with the aging time of p-Si. These changes correlate with nanocrystal core dimensions, i.e. with the oxidation of the nanocrystals. Infrared spectra show that the reaction with water depends on the age of the starting p-Si sample, since the native superficial oxide layer on p-Si inhibits these reactions.  相似文献
