We present experiments and theory on the diluted melt dynamics of monodisperse entangled polymers of linear, star and H-shaped architecture. Frequency-dependent rheological data on a series of progressively diluted linear, star and H-polymers are in good agreement with a refined tube-model theory that, for H-polymers, combines star polymer melt behaviour at high frequency, with linear polymer reptation behaviour at low frequencies. Taking into account the effect of dilution via some simple scaling relations, mild polydispersity and by incorporating the high frequency Rouse modes, we are able to model quantitatively the entire frequency range. This work suggests a novel rheological route to analysing long chain branching in polymer melts. Received: 6 April 2000/Accepted: 21 December 2000  相似文献

Considering the importance of benzothiazepine pharmacophore, an attempt was carried out to synthesize novel 1,5-benzothiazepine derivatives using polyethylene glycol-400 (PEG-400)-mediated pathways. Initially, different chalcones were synthesized and then subjected to a cyclization step with benzothiazepine in the presence of bleaching clay and PEG-400. PEG-400-mediated synthesis resulted in a yield of more than 95% in less than an hour of reaction time. Synthesized compounds 2a–2j were investigated for their in vitro cytotoxic activity. Moreover, the same compounds were subjected to systematic in silico screening for the identification of target proteins such as human adenosine kinase, glycogen synthase kinase-3β, and human mitogen-activated protein kinase 1. The compounds showed promising results in cytotoxicity assays; among the tested compounds, 2c showed the most potent cytotoxic activity in the liver cancer cell line Hep G-2, with an IC50 of 3.29 ± 0.15 µM, whereas the standard drug IC50 was 4.68 ± 0.17 µM. In the prostate cancer cell line DU-145, the compounds displayed IC50 ranges of 15.42 ± 0.16 to 41.34 ± 0.12 µM, while the standard drug had an IC50 of 21.96 ± 0.15 µM. In terms of structural insights, the halogenated phenyl substitution on the second position of benzothiazepine was found to significantly improve the biological activity. This characteristic feature is supported by the binding patterns on the selected target proteins in docking simulations. In this study, 1,5-benzothiazepines have been identified as potential anticancer agents which can be further exploited for the development of more potent derivatives.  相似文献

We report on the effect of an annealing temperature on the electrical properties of Au/Ta2O5/n-GaN metal–insulator–semiconductor (MIS) structure by current–voltage (IV) and capacitance–voltage (CV) measurements. The measured Schottky barrier height (Φ bo) and ideality factor n values of the as-deposited Au/Ta2O5/n-GaN MIS structure are 0.93 eV (IV) and 1.19. The barrier height (BH) increases to 1.03 eV and ideality factor decreases to 1.13 upon annealing at 500 °C for 1 min under nitrogen ambient. When the contact is annealed at 600 °C, the barrier height decreases and the ideality factor increases to 0.99 eV and 1.15. The barrier heights obtained from the CV measurements are higher than those obtained from IV measurements, and this indicates the existence of spatial inhomogeneity at the interface. Cheung’s functions are also used to calculate the barrier height (Φ bo), ideality factor (n), and series resistance (R s ) of the Au/Ta2O5/n-GaN MIS structure. Investigations reveal that the Schottky emission is the dominant mechanism and the Poole–Frenkel emission occurs only in the high voltage region. The energy distribution of interface states is determined from the forward bias IV characteristics by taking into account the bias dependence of the effective barrier height. It is observed that the density value of interface states for the annealed samples with interfacial layer is lower than that of the density value of interface states of the as-deposited sample.  相似文献

Iron is a crucial element required for the proper functioning of the body. For instance, hemoglobin is the vital component in the blood that delivers oxygen to various parts of the body. The heme protein present in hemoglobin comprises iron in the form of a ferrous state which regulates oxygen delivery. Excess iron in the body is stored as ferritin and would be utilized under iron-deficient conditions. Surprisingly, cancer cells as well as cancer stem cells have elevated ferritin levels suggesting that iron plays a vital role in protecting these cells. However, apart from the cytoprotective role iron also has the potential to induce cell death via ferroptosis which is a non-apoptotic cell death dependent on iron reserves. Apoptosis a caspase-dependent cell death mechanism is effective on cancer cells however little is known about its impact on cancer stem cell death. This paper focuses on the molecular characteristics of apoptosis and ferroptosis and the importance of switching to ferroptosis to target cancer stem cells death thereby preventing cancer relapse. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first review to demonstrate the importance of intracellular iron in regulating the switching of tumor cells and therapy resistant CSCs from apoptosis to ferroptosis.  相似文献

In the current study, we have synthesized an imidazolium based cross-linked polymer, namely, 1-vinyl-3-ethylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (poly[veim][Tf2N]-TRIM) using trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate as cross linker, and demonstrated its efficiency for the removal of two extensively used ionic dyes—methylene blue and orange-II—from aqueous systems. The detailed characterization of the synthesized poly[veim][Tf2N]-TRIM was performed with the help of 1H NMR, TGA, FT-IR and FE-SEM analysis. The concentration of dyes in aqueous samples before and after the adsorption process was measured using an UV-vis spectrophotometer. The process parameters were optimised, and highest adsorption was obtained at a solution pH of 7.0, adsorbent dosage of 0.75 g/L, contact time of 7 h and dye concentrations of 100 mg/L and 5.0 mg/L for methylene blue and orange-II, respectively. The adsorption kinetics for orange-II and methylene blue were well described by pseudo-first-order and pseudo–second-order models, respectively. Meanwhile, the process of adsorption was best depicted by Langmuir isotherms for both the dyes. The highest monolayer adsorption capacities for methylene blue and orange-II were found to be 1212 mg/g and 126 mg/g, respectively. Overall, the synthesized cross-linked poly[veim][Tf2N]-TRIM effectively removed the selected ionic dyes from aqueous samples and provided >90% of adsorption efficiency after four cycles of adsorption. A possible adsorption mechanism between the synthesised polymeric adsorbent and proposed dyes is presented. It is further suggested that the proposed ionic liquid polymer adsorbent could effectively remove other ionic dyes and pollutants from contaminated aqueous systems.  相似文献

Kahweol and cafestol are two diterpenes extracted from Coffea arabica beans that have distinct biological activities. Recent research describes their potential activities, which include anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and anti-cancer properties, among others. The two diterpenes have been shown to have anticancer effects in various in vitro and in vivo cancer models. This review aims to shed light on the recent developments regarding the potential effects of kahweol and cafestol on various cancers. A systematic literature search through Google Scholar and PubMed was performed between February and May 2022 to collect updates about the potential effects of cafestol and kahweol on different cancers in in vitro and in vivo models. The search terms “Kahweol and Cancer” and “Cafestol and Cancer” were used in this literature review as keywords; the findings demonstrated that kahweol and cafestol exhibit diverse effects on different cancers in in vitro and in vivo models, showing pro-apoptotic, cytotoxic, anti-proliferative, and anti-migratory properties. In conclusion, the diterpenes kahweol and cafestol display significant anticancer effects, while remarkably unaffecting normal cells. Our results show that both kahweol and cafestol exert their actions on various cancers via inducing apoptosis and inhibiting cell growth. Additionally, kahweol acts by inhibiting cell migration.  相似文献

A novel series of 3,5‐disubstituted‐2‐pyrazineamide derivatives ( 5a–5o ) were synthesized and studied for their potential as antitubercular agents. Among them, the compounds 5a , 5g , and 5m showed the good minimal inhibitory concentration of 20, 25, and 25 μg/mL, respectively. The compound 5a displayed excellent minimum inhibitory concentration of 10 μg/mL and is four times more potent compared with the standard drug, rifampicin concentration. In silico docking studies revealed that the compounds 5a and 5c can bind strongly in the active site of 2FUM enzyme and prevent enzyme–substrate interactions. In addition, in silico docking studies were calculated, and based on the data obtained, compound 5a displayed excellent drug‐like properties.  相似文献

The first organocatalytic approach towards synthesis of rarely explored 1,2,4-selenadiazole and thiadiazole scaffolds have been devised using corresponding carboxamides as substrates. The transformations were realized using two distinct conditions in the presence of catalytic vitamin B3 or thiourea under aerobic conditions. Developed methods overcome the associated limitations of previous reported approaches and the desired products were obtained in high yields and selectivity without the formation of toxic side-products.  相似文献

Ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of thioether‐derived oxanorbornene imide ( M1 ) and its copolymerization with various cycloolefin comonomers such as cyclopentene ( M2 ), cyclopent‐3‐en‐1‐ol ( M3 ), cycloheptene ( M4 ), and cyclooctene ( M5 ) using Hoveyda–Grubbs second generation catalyst has been investigated. Polymerizations were performed at two different temperatures (0 and 25 °C) and the obtained functional poly(olefin)s were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance 1H and 13C (NMR), and infrared spectroscopy as well as size exclusion chromatography, differential scanning calorimetry, and thermogravimetric analysis analyses. Additionally, the dependence of the polymer composition on the reaction temperature and monomer feed was studied with time‐dependent 1H NMR experiments. Copolymerization of M1 with a five‐membered cycloolefin monomer M2 showed relatively low ROMP reactivity irrespective of the reaction conditions in comparison to M3 , M4 , and M5 monomers. In general, the degree of monomer incorporation into poly(olefin)s were determined in the order of M5 > M3 > M4 > M2 , and that sheds light on the effect of cycloolefin ring strain energies in the ruthenium‐alkylidene initiated ROMP. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The effect of substrate temperature on the direct current magnetron-sputtered zirconium oxide (ZrO2) dielectric films was investigated. Stoichiometric of the ZrO2 thin films was obtained at an oxygen partial pressure of 4.0 × 10−2 Pa. X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the crystallite size in the layer was increased from 4.8 to 16.1 nm with increase of substrate temperature from 303 to 673 K. Metal-oxide-semiconductor devices were fabricated on ZrO2/Si stacks with Al gate electrode. The dielectric properties of ZrO2 layer and interface quality at ZrO2/Si were significantly influenced by the substrate temperature. The dielectric constant increased from 15 to 25, and the leakage current density decreased from 0.12 × 10−7 to 0.64 × 10−9 A cm−2 with the increase of substrate temperature from 303 to 673 K.  相似文献
