We consider the class of Euclidean algebras associated to Minkowski light cones and called Lorentz algebras. We prove that in Lorentz algebras the estimate ∥P(a,b)≥(√2-1) ∥ab is valid for the spectral norm and is therefore independent of the dimension of the Lorentz algebra.  相似文献

A specially prepared Ga1−xAlxAs sample with a laterally graded alloy composition has allowed a novel investigation of resonance Raman scattering from the optical phonons. Instead of varying the exciting light energy, the resonance is probed by changing the alloy composition at fixed incident energy. Both incoming and outgoing resonances are observed at the direct gap of the alloy, free of the usual overwhelming photoluminescence background.  相似文献

The 24 components of the relativistic spin tensor consist of 3 + 3 basic spin fields and 9 + 9 constitutive fields. Empirically only three basic spin fields and nine constitutive fields are known. This empirem can be expressed by two spin axioms, one of them denying purely relativistic spin fields, and the other one relating the three additional basic fields and the nine additional constitutive fields to the known (and measurable) ones. This identification by the spin axioms is material-independent and does not mix basic spin fields with constitutive properties. The approaches to the Weyssenhoff fluid and the Dirac-electron fluid found in literature are discussed with regard to these spin axioms. The conjecture is formulated, that another reduction from six to three basic spin fields which does not obey the spin axioms introduces special material properties by not allowed mixing of constitutive and basic fields.  相似文献

There are two major alternatives for violating the (usual) Lorentz invariance at large (Planckian) energies or momenta—either not all inertial frames (in the Planck regime) are equivalent (e.g., there is an effectively preferred frame) or the transformations from one frame to another are (nonlinearly) deformed (“doubly special relativity”). We demonstrate that the natural (and reasonable) assumption of an energy-dependent speed of light in the latter method goes along with violations of locality/separability (and even translational invariance) on macroscopic scales.  相似文献

Analysis of a part of the meteorite which fell at Dergaon (India) on March 2, 16.40 local time (2001) is presented with the help of FTIR, absorption and atomic spectra. The FTIR spectrum exhibits prominent absorption bands in the region 800–1100 cm−1, originating from the valence vibration of SiO4, a basic component of the silicate lattice.  相似文献

Fine powders of lanthanum iron oxide, LaFeO3, have been prepared by solid state reaction as well as sol-gel synthesis and nebulized spray pyrolysis. Structures, morphologies and magnetic susceptibility measurements of these powders have been examined. The powders prepared by all the three low-temperature routes contain nearly spherical particles with an average diameter of 40 nm. These samples show a lower Neel temperature than the powder prepared by solid state reaction besides showing much lower magnetic susceptibility at low temperatures. Oscillating nature of current pulses under d.c. excitation in subnormal region with longitudinal magnetic field at pressure range 0.20 torr to 0.85 torr have been studied. The frequency, bandwidth, peak-peak voltage, cut-off current and rise time of the current pulses have been observed with pressure, average tube current and magnetic field. A study of these oscillograms in magnetic field, average tube current and pressure are presented. The probable mechanism for the generation of oscillation based on space-charge field modification with magnetic field is discussed  相似文献
