This work focuses on interstitial solid solutions of hydrogen in the face-centred cubic (fcc) host lattice of palladium and nickel, using a first-principles based approach. Cluster Variation Method (CVM) and Monte Carlo simulation algorithms were especially designed, allowing a coupled use of both techniques, to study hydrogen–vacancy interactions inside an fcc metallic host lattice. First-principles calculations provided the H–Vac interaction energies by structure inversion method. The phase diagrams and thermodynamic properties were computed using only theoretical inputs. The mechanisms leading to the formation of the miscibility gaps observed for both Pd–H and Ni–H systems and the hydrogen ordering on palladium interstitial lattice were reproduced without any empirical term. 相似文献

Ambient temperature-initiated anionic polymerization has generated branched polystyrenes of varying molecular weights and architectures by inclusion of a distyryl branching comonomer into a conventional sec-Butylithium-initiated polymerization of styrene. Primary chain length control within the branched polymers, and restriction of the branching points to varying segments of the primary chains, led to variations of glass transition temperature with no direct correlation to the branched polymer molecular weight but a strong relationship to the length of individual chains comprising the branched macromolecules. 相似文献

Additive manufacturing (AM), otherwise known as three‐dimensional (3D) printing, is driving major innovations in many areas, such as engineering, manufacturing, art, education, and medicine. Although a considerable amount of progress has been made in this field, additional research work is required to overcome various remaining challenges. Recently, one of the actively researched areas lies in the AM of smart materials and structures. Electroactive materials incorporated in 3D printing have given birth to 4D printing, where 3D printed structures can perform as actuating and/or sensing systems, making it possible to deliver electrical signals under external mechanical stimuli and vice versa. In this paper, we present a lightweight, low cost piezoelectric material based on the dispersion of inorganic ferroelectric submicron particles in a polymer matrix. We report on how the proposed material is compatible with the AM process. A novel class of chiral luminescent square‐planar platinum complexes with a π‐bonded chiral thioquinonoid ligand is described. Remarkably the presence of this chiral organometallic ligand controls the aggregation of this square planar luminophor and imposes a homo‐ or hetero‐chiral arrangement at the supramolecular level, displaying non‐covalent Pt–Pt and π–π interactions. Interestingly these complexes are highly luminescent in the crystalline state and their photophysical properties can be traced to their aggregation in the solid state. A TD‐DFT calculation is obtained to rationalize this unique behavior. 相似文献
