We conjecture that a Willmore torus having Willmore functional between 2π 2 and 2π 2 \(\sqrt 3 \) is either conformally equivalent to the Clifford torus, or conformally equivalent to the Ejiri torus. Ejiri’s torus in S 5 is the first example of Willmore surface which is not conformally equivalent to any minimal surface in any real space form. Li and Vrancken classified all Willmore surfaces of tensor product in S n by reducing them into elastic curves in S 3, and the Ejiri torus appeared as a special example. In this paper, we first prove that among all Willmore tori of tensor product, the Willmore functional of the Ejiri torus in S 5 attains the minimum 2π 2 \(\sqrt 3 \), which indicates our conjecture holds true for Willmore surfaces of tensor product. Then we show that all Willmore tori of tensor product are unstable when the co-dimension is big enough. We also show that the Ejiri torus is unstable even in S 5. Moreover, similar to Li and Vrancken, we classify all constrained Willmore surfaces of tensor product by reducing them with elastic curves in S 3. All constrained Willmore tori obtained this way are also shown to be unstable when the co-dimension is big enough.  相似文献

We show that, under certain smoothness conditions, a Brownian martingale, when evaluated at a fixed time, can be represented via an exponential formula at a later time. The time-dependent generator of this exponential operator only depends on the second order Malliavin derivative operator evaluated along a ‘frozen path’. The exponential operator can be expanded explicitly to a series representation, which resembles the Dyson series of quantum mechanics. Our continuous-time martingale representation result can be proven independently by two different methods. In the first method, one constructs a time-evolution equation, by passage to the limit of a special case of a backward Taylor expansion of an approximating discrete-time martingale. The exponential formula is a solution of the time-evolution equation, but we emphasize in our article that the time-evolution equation is a separate result of independent interest. In the second method, we use the property of denseness of exponential functions. We provide several applications of the exponential formula, and briefly highlight numerical applications of the backward Taylor expansion.  相似文献

This paper proposes a new model that generalizes the linear sliding window system to the case of multiple failures. The considered k ‐within‐ m ‐from‐ r / n sliding window system consists of n linearly ordered multi‐state elements and fails if at least k groups out of m consecutive groups of r consecutive multi‐state elements have cumulative performance lower than the demand W . A reliability evaluation algorithm is suggested for the proposed system. In order to increase the system availability, maintenance actions can be performed, and the elements can be optimally allocated. A joint element allocation and maintenance optimization model is formulated with the objective of minimizing the total maintenance cost subjected to the pre‐specified system availability requirement. Basic procedures of genetic algorithms are adapted to solve the optimization problem. Numerical experiments are presented to illustrate the applications. We introduce a new type of path-dependent quasi-linear parabolic PDEs in which the continuous paths on an interval [0, t] become the basic variables in the place of classical variables(t, x) ∈ [0, T ] × Rd. This new type of PDEs are formulated through a classical BSDE in which the terminal values and the generators are allowed to be general function of Brownian motion paths. In this way, we establish the nonlinear FeynmanKac formula for a general non-Markovian BSDE. Some main properties of solutions of this new PDEs are also obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, a Mindlin pseudospectral plate element is constructed to perform static, dynamic, and wave propagation analyses of plate-like structures. Chebyshev polynomials are used as basis functions and Chebyshev–Gauss–Lobatto points are used as grid points. Two integration schemes, i.e., Gauss–Legendre quadrature (GLEQ) and Chebyshev points quadrature (CPQ), are employed independently to form the elemental stiffness matrix of the present element. A lumped elemental mass matrix is generated by only using CPQ due to the discrete orthogonality of Chebyshev polynomials and overlapping of the quadrature points with the grid points. This results in a remarkable reduction of numerical operations in solving the equation of motion for being able to use explicit time integration schemes. Numerical calculations are carried out to investigate the influence of the above two numerical integration schemes in the elemental stiffness formation on the accuracy of static and dynamic response analyses. By comparing with the results of ABAQUS, this study shows that CPQ performs slightly better than GLEQ in various plates with different thicknesses, especially in thick plates. Finally, a one dimensional (1D) and a 2D wave propagation problems are used to demonstrate the efficiency of the present Mindlin pseudospectral plate element.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a multi-species Lotka–Volterra type competitive system with delays and feedback controls. A general criteria on the permanence is established, which is described by integral form and independent of feedback controls. By constructing suitable Lyapunov functionals, a set of easily verifiable sufficient conditions are derived for global stability of any positive solution to the model.  相似文献

The main aim of this paper is to study the approximation to viscoelasticity type equations with a Crouzeix-Raviart type nonconforming finite element on the anisotropic meshes. The superclose property of the exact solution and the optimal error estimate of its derivative with respect to time are derived by using some novel techniques.
