In this work it is reported that the kinetic modelling of the separation of cadmium from phosphoric acid by non-dispersive solvent extraction. Using Cyanex 302 as selective extractant, the extraction step was carried out in a hollow fibre module containing polypropylene fibres, whereas the concentration step required a ceramic module with tubular channels due to the high acidity of the backextraction agent. Application of the methodology previously reported by the authors led to the development of a kinetic model with three design parameters, i.e., equilibrium constant of the extraction reaction (K'e = 6 × 103 mol−2/l−2), membrane mass transport coefficient of the extraction module Kme=8.33×10−8 m/s) and of the backextraction module (Kms=3.33×10−8 m/s), that described satisfactorily the behaviour of the separation-concentration system. Thus, in this work a new application of the non-dispersive solvent extraction technology is presented, characterising at the same time the behaviour and parameters of a new type of contactor, i.e., a tubular ceramic module.  相似文献

The extraction of Al(III) and Zn(II) from an aqueous solution with two water-in-oil microemulsions, one containing di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (DEHPA), was investigated to aid the understanding of the role of the extractant and the metal specific characteristics in the mechanism of microemulsion extraction. The extraction of Al with the DEHPA microemulsion increased by a factor of about 10 with respect to that in the conventional DEHPA system, whereas the extraction of Zn was lower than that in the single DEHPA system. Extraction with the DEHPA-free microemulsion was very low, showing that metal ion solubilization was not important in the mechanism of microemulsion extraction. It is proposed that the effect of the mixed microemulsion on the metal distribution coefficient is the result of the balance between a decrease in the complexation reaction yield due to the interaction between butanol and DEHPA, and the adsorption of the metal complex at the macro- and microinterfaces. The former leads to a decrease in Zn(II) extraction and the latter to Al(III) extraction synergism. Copyright 2000 Academic Press.  相似文献

In this Article, we report on the synthesis and full characterization of three perfluorinated oligothiophenes, ranging in length from the trimer to the pentamer (PF-nT, with n = 3, 4, or 5). The differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) analysis of the compounds showed that they can be both oxidized and reduced (i.e., they display a dual or amphoteric electrochemical behavior), with the reduction peaks positively shifted relative to those of the corresponding unsubstituted oligothiophenes. The electrochemically determined energy gaps are in agreement with those measured from the UV-vis-NIR absorption spectra in solution. The conjugational properties have been investigated by means of FT-Raman spectroscopy, both as pure solids and as dilute solutes in CH(2)Cl(2), revealing that: (i) pi-conjugation does not still reach saturation with chain length for the longest oligomer, and (ii) conformational distortions from a nearly coplanar arrangement of the successive thiophene units upon solution are not too large. DFT and TDDFT quantum chemical calculations have been performed, at the B3LYP/6-31G level, to assess information about the optimized molecular structure, equilibrium atomic charges distribution, energies and topologies of the frontier molecular orbitals (MO) around the gap, vibrational normal modes associated with the most outstanding Raman scatterings, and vertical one-electron excitations that give rise to the main optical absorptions.  相似文献

Two stable products of reactions of water molecules with the Al3O3- cluster, Al3O4H2- and Al3O5H4-, are studied with electronic structure calculations. There are several minima with similar energies for both anions and the corresponding molecules. Dissociative absorption of a water molecule to produce an anionic cluster with hydroxide ions is thermodynamically favored over the formation of Al3O3-(H2O)n complexes. Vertical electron detachment energies of Al3O4H2- and Al3O5H4- calculated with ab initio electron propagator methods provide a quantitative interpretation of recent anion photoelectron spectra. Contrasts and similarities in these spectra may be explained in terms of the Dyson orbitals associated with each transition energy.  相似文献

The Tn antigen (GalNAc-α-1-O-Thr/Ser) is a well-known tumor-associated carbohydrate determinant. The use of glycopeptides that incorporate this structure has become a significant and promising niche of research owing to their potential use as anticancer vaccines. Herein, the conformational preferences of a glycopeptide with an unnatural Tn antigen, characterized by a threonine decorated with an sp2-iminosugar-type α-GalNAc mimic, have been studied both in solution, by combining NMR spectroscopy and molecular dynamics simulations, and in the solid state bound to an anti-mucin-1 (MUC1) antibody, by X-ray crystallography. The Tn surrogate can mimic the main conformer sampled by the natural antigen in solution and exhibits high affinity towards anti-MUC1 antibodies. Encouraged by these data, a cancer vaccine candidate based on this unnatural glycopeptide and conjugated to the carrier protein Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH) has been prepared and tested in mice. Significantly, the experiments in vivo have proved that this vaccine elicits higher levels of specific anti-MUC1 IgG antibodies than the analog that bears the natural Tn antigen and that the elicited antibodies recognize human breast cancer cells with high selectivity. Altogether, we compile evidence to confirm that the presentation of the antigen, both in solution and in the bound state, plays a critical role in the efficacy of the designed cancer vaccines. Moreover, the outcomes derived from this vaccine prove that there is room for exploring further adjustments at the carbohydrate level that could contribute to designing more efficient cancer vaccines.

Corrections to dipole approximation results for angular distributions in photoionization of first-row hydrides have determined by using Dyson orbitals calculated with ab initio electron propagator theory and by considering the full multipole expansion for the incident photon representation. The relative importance of first-order corrections which consist of electric quadrupole and magnetic dipole terms and of higher-order terms has been estimated as a function of photon energy. Multipole corrections to the dipole approximation depend on photon energy and on the characteristics of the Dyson orbitals.  相似文献

The formation constants of the binary complexes Cu(CM)2+ and Cu(CM) 2 2+ as well as those of the ternary complexes Cu(CM)L + and Cu(CM)2 L + (CM=Cimetidine=N-Cyano-N-methyl-N[(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)methyltioethyl]-guanidine; HL=Phenobarbital=5-ethyl-5-phenyl-barbituric acid) have been determined in 0.1 and 1.0 mol dm–3 NaClO4 methanol solutions at 25±0.2°C. The values of logX, log stat.., and logK confirm the stability of the ternary complexes.

Zusammenfassung Die Stabilitätskonstanten der binären Komplexe Cu(CM)2+ und Cu(CM) 2 2+ sowie die der ternären Komplexe Cu(CM)L + und Cu(CM)2 L + (CM=Cimetidin=N-Cyan-N-methyl-N-[(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)methylthioethyl]-guanidin; HL=Phenobarbitalum=5-Ethyl-5-phenyl-barbitursäure) wurden in 0.1 und 1.0M Lösungen von NaClO4 in Methanol bei 25±0.2°C bestimmt. Die Werte von logX, log stat. und logK bestätigen die Stabilität der ternären Komplexe.
