We construct planar bi-Sobolev mappings whose local volume distortion is bounded from below by a given function with . More precisely, for any we construct -bi-Sobolev maps with identity boundary conditions; for , we provide bi-Lipschitz maps. The basic building block of our construction are bi-Lipschitz maps which stretch a given compact subset of the unit square by a given factor while preserving the boundary. The construction of these stretching maps relies on a slight strengthening of the celebrated covering result of Alberti, Csörnyei, and Preiss for measurable planar sets in the case of compact sets. We apply our result to a model functional in nonlinear elasticity, the integrand of which features fast blowup as the Jacobian determinant of the deformation becomes small. For such functionals, the derivation of the equilibrium equations for minimizers requires an additional regularization of test functions, which our maps provide. 相似文献

The present work is intended as a first step towards applying semidefinite programming models and tools to discrete lot-sizing problems including sequence-dependent changeover costs and times. Such problems can be formulated as quadratically constrained quadratic binary programs. We investigate several semidefinite relaxations by combining known reformulation techniques recently proposed for generic quadratic binary problems with problem-specific strengthening procedures developed for lot-sizing problems. Our computational results show that the semidefinite relaxations consistently provide lower bounds of significantly improved quality as compared with those provided by the best previously published linear relaxations. In particular, the gap between the semidefinite relaxation and the optimal integer solution value can be closed for a significant proportion of the small-size instances, thus avoiding to resort to a tree search procedure. The reported computation times are significant. However improvements in SDP technology can still be expected in the future, making SDP based approaches to discrete lot-sizing more competitive. 相似文献

The objective of this study is to simulate the propagation of the shock wave in water due to an explosion. The study is part of a global research program on the development of an alternative stimulation technique to conventional hydraulic fracturing in tight gas reservoirs aimed at inducing a distributed state of microcracking of rocks instead of localized fracture. We consider the possibility of increasing the permeability of rocks with dynamic blasts. The blast is a shock wave generated in water by pulsed arc electrohydraulic discharges. The amplitude of these shock waves is prescribed by the electrohydraulic discharges which generate high pressures of several kilobars within microseconds. A simplified method has been used to simulate the injected electrical energy as augmentation of enthalpy in water locally. The finite element code EUROPLEXUS is used to perform fluid fast dynamic computation. The predicted pressure is consistent with the experimental results. In addition, shock wave propagation characteristics predicted with simulation can be valuable reference for design of underwater structural elements and engineering of underwater explosion. 相似文献

3-Carene is an important potential biofuel with properties similar to the jet-propellant JP-10. Its thermal decomposition and combustion behavior is to date unknown, which is essential to assess its quality as a fuel. A combined experimental and kinetic modeling study has been conducted to understand the initial decomposition of 3-carene. The pyrolysis of 3-carene was investigated in a jet-stirred quartz reactor at atmospheric pressure, at temperatures varying from 650 to 1050 K, covering the complete conversion range. The decomposition of 3-carene was observed to start around 800 K, and it is almost complete at 970 K. Online gas chromatography shows that primarily aromatics are generated which suggests that 3-carene is not a good fuel candidate. The potential energy surface for the initial decomposition pathways determined by KinBot shows that a hydrogen elimination reaction dominates, giving primarily cara-2,4-diene. Next to this molecular pathway, radical pathways lead to aromatics via ring opening. The kinetic model was automatically generated with Genesys and consists of 2565 species and 9331 reactions. New quantum chemical calculations at the CBS-QB3 level of theory were needed to calculate rate coefficients and thermodynamic properties relevant for the primary decomposition of 3-carene. Both the conversion of 3-carene and the yields of the primary products (ie, benzene and hydrogen gas) are well predicted with this kinetic model. Rate of production analyses shows that the dominant pathways to convert 3-carene are hydrogen elimination reaction and radical chemistry. 相似文献

The labeling of (bio)molecules with metallic radionuclides such as 99mTc demands conjugated, multidentate chelators. However, this is not always necessary since phenyl rings can directly serve as integrated, organometallic ligands. Bis-arene sandwich complexes are generally prepared by the Fischer–Hafner reaction. In extension of this, we show that [99mTc(η6-C6R6)2]+-type complexes are directly accessible from water and [99mTcO4]−, even using arenes incompatible with Fischer–Hafner conditions. To unambiguously confirm the nature of these unprecedented 99mTc complexes, their rhenium homologous have been prepared by substituting naphthalene ligands in [Re(η6-C10H8)2]+ with the corresponding phenyl groups. The ease with which highly stable [99mTc(η6-C6R6)2]+ complexes are formed under standard labeling conditions enables a multitude of new potential imaging agents based on commercial pharmaceuticals or lead structures. 相似文献
