We study the influence of a strange axial vector form factor Gs of the nucleon on the neutrino-induced proton and neutron knockout of 16O. In particular, we calculate how much Gs≠0 might affect the recently proposed signal for supernova νμ and ντ neutrinos in the Superkamiokande detector. We discuss whether Superkamiokande might be able to determine the value of Gs in a hypothetical neutrino-beam experiment. Finally we comment on the possible effect Gs≠0 might have on neutrino-nucleus cross sections in the neutrino-driven wind model for the nuclear r-process.

A theory is developed for a new type of transition — a change in the ratio of the longitudinal and transverse dimensions of
a convection cell as the thickness of a liquid layer is varied. A sudden change in the ratio of the cell dimensions takes
place because of a change in the predominant mechanism for excitation of convection. The governing influence of buoyancy forces
gives way to one of thermocapillary forces, and they in turn give way to the influence of thermoelectric forces for yet thinner
layers. As the layer thickness is reduced gradually at a fixed external heating, the ratio of the dimensions will take on
the values 0.7, 0.65, and 1, respectively.

An analytic expression is derived for calculating the intensities of individual spin-rovibronic lines in the fully resolved
gas phase electronic spectrum of a polyatomic molecule, in which one of the zero-order electronic states is a triplet state.
The expression is employed to calculate the effect of fine structure splitting on the singlet-triplet absorption spectrum
of pyrazine using the parameters available from experiment. A transition from Hund’s coupling Case (a) to Case (b) on going
from low J to high J rotational levels is predicted to occur at a moderate resolution of a few hundred MHz. The effect is more pronounced in pyrazine-d
4 and the pyrazine-argon van der Waals complex owing to their larger mass.

Carbon based paramagnetic materials are frequently used for EPR oximetry, especiallyin vivo,but the EPR spectra of these materials often have more than one paramagnetic center and/or relatively low signal intensity. To determine whether the multi-components of carbon based materials could be separated and enriched in the active component, we used density gradient centrifugation to separate the materials into several fractions. We studied two types of coals, gloxy and Pocahontas, and found these materials to have large density distribution. The separated density fractions had very different EPR spectra and intensities. The active component from the coal material had a more homogeneous EPR signal and significantly increased EPR signal intensity, whereas for India ink, only slight changes were observed. This result can be very useful in the development of better probes for EPR oximetry. 相似文献

A pulsed field gradient version of the sensitivity-enhanced 2D TOCSY experiment is proposed which yields high-quality spectra with improved sensitivity and a minimum of two scans pert1increment. For rapid acquisition of 1D TOCSY spectra, the 1D DPFGSE–TOCSY experiment was modified to include phase-encoded multiple-selective excitation followed by a simple spectral editing. Combination of these two building blocks is used in a sensitivity-enhanced 2D analog of the 3D TOCSY–TOCSY experiment which provides an efficient tool for resolving severely overlapped signals of oligomers in short experimental time. 相似文献

Equations for the temperature dependence of proton and deuteron spin–lattice relaxation rates and second moments due to a complex motion consisting of classical jumps over a potential barrier and quantum mechanical tunneling through the barrier have been derived. Asymmetric double and triple potential wells are considered. These equations have been employed to analyze proton spin–lattice relaxation data for solid naphthazarin in the laboratory and rotating frames as a function of temperature. > 4.2 K give an onset temperature for magnetic ordering of K. This temperature practically is the same as that found in Nd doped La2-xSrxCuO4. It indicates that the magnetic ordering temperature in the LTT phase of rare earth (RE) doped La2-xSrxCuO4 is independent of the RE moment. The direction of the 57Fe magnetic moment in the magnetically ordered state is within the CuO2 plane, while it has been found to be parallel to the c-axis in Nd doped La2-xSrxCuO4.

A study is made of the effect of electric fields on the exciton states of β-ZnP2 crystals (T=77 K) in structures with Schottky barriers formed by depositing semitransparent electrically-conducting InSnO2 films on the crystal surface. The observed changes in the exciton optical reflection spectra when an electrical potential
is applied to a barrier are explained by the shift and broadening of the exciton level caused by the Stark effect. The experimental
data are compared with calculations based on a theory of exciton optical reflection from planar spatially nonuniform structures.

Underdoped manganites: Canted antiferromagnetic ordering or two-phase ferro-antiferromagnetic state?

We calculate the energy of charge-carrier-induced canted ordering in conducting layered antiferromagnetic systems with double
exchange. The quantum approach to the d-spins is used. In the jellium model the energy of the canted state is lower than the energies of both collinear ferro-and
antiferromagnetic states over a certain range of charge carrier densities, beginning with arbitrarily small densities. Nevertheless,
the canted state cannot be realized, because it is unstable against charge-carrier density fluctuations. The two-phase ferro-antiferromagnetic
state can play the role of an alternative to canting. The case of an intermediate electronic-impurity phase separation is
investigated.
