Adsorption of glucose oxidase (GOD) onto plasma-polymerized thin films (PPF) with nanoscale thickness was characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM), quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), and electrochemical measurements. The PPF surface is very flat (less than 1-nm roughness), and its properties (charge and wettability) can be easily changed while retaining the backbone structure. We focused on three types of surfaces: (1) the pristine surface of hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDS) PPF (hydrophobic and neutral surface), (2) an HMDS PPF surface with nitrogen-plasma treatment (hydrophilic and positive-charged surface), and (3) an HMDS PPF surface treated with oxygen plasma (hydrophilic and negative-charged surface). The AFM image showed that the GOD molecules were densely adsorbed onto surface 2 and that individual GOD molecules could be observed. The longer axis of GOD ellipsoid molecules were aligned parallel to the surface, called the "lying position", because of electrostatic association. On surface 1, clusters of GOD molecules did not completely cover the original PPF surface (surface coverage was ca. 60%). The 10-nm-size step height between the GOD clusters and the PPF surface suggests that the longer axes of individual GOD molecules were aligned perpendicular to the surface, called the "standing position". On surface 3, only a few of the GOD molecules were adsorbed because of electrostatic repulsion. These results indicate that the plasma polymerization process can facilitate enhancement or reduction of protein adsorption. The AFM images show a corresponding tendency with the QCM profiles. The QCM data indicate that the adsorption behavior obeys the Langmuir isotherm equation. The amperometric biosensor characteristics of the GOD-adsorbed PPF on a platinum electrode showed an increment in the current because of enzymatic reaction with glucose addition, indicating that enzyme activity was mostly retained in spite of irreversible adsorption.  相似文献

An accurate method for measuring the wafer surface height is required for wafer inspection systems to adjust the focus of inspection optics quickly and precisely. A method for projecting a laser spot onto the wafer surface obliquely and for detecting its image displacement using a one-dimensional position-sensitive detector is known, and a variety of methods have been proposed for improving the accuracy by compensating the measurement error due to the surface patterns. We have developed a simple and accurate method in which an image of a reticle with eight slits is projected on the wafer surface and its reflected image is detected using an image sensor. The surface height is calculated by averaging the coordinates of the images of the slits in both the two directions in the captured image. Pattern-related measurement error was reduced by applying the coordinates averaging to the multiple-slit-projection method. Accuracy of better than 0.35 μm was achieved for a patterned wafer at the reference height and ±0.1 mm from the reference height in a simple configuration.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with an algorithm for solving a large scale semi-definite logit model which cannot be solved by an outer approximation (cutting plane) algorithm proposed earlier by one of the authors. Outer approximation algorithm can solve a problem with up to 10 financial attributes and 7,800 companies which is less than satisfactory from the viewpoint of failure discriminant analysis. The new algorithm can generate an approximately optimal solution for problems with over 14 attributes and 8,000 companies, by which the quality of failure discriminant analysis would be substantially improved.  相似文献

4-Acetyl-N,N-diisopropyl-1-benzylnicotinamidinium ion (ABNA(+)) and 1-benzyl-4-phenylnicotinamidinium ion (PhBNA(+)) were newly synthesized as NAD(+) analogues to examine the electron-transfer reactivity and the effects of metal ions on the reactivity in comparison with those of 1-benzylnicotinamidinium ion (BNA(+)) and 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium ion (MPP(+)) which has no amide or acetyl group. A remarkable positive shift in the one-electron reduction potential of ABNA(+) was observed in the presence of Sc(3+) which forms a 1:1 complex with ABNA(+) through both acetyl and amide groups, whereas no such shift in the presence of Sc(3+) was observed for the one-electron reduction of MPP(+) which has no acetyl or amide group. Similar but less positive shifts in the one-electron reduction potentials were observed in the presence of Sc(3+) for the one-electron reduction of BNA(+) and PhBNA(+) both of which have only one amide group. The rate of electron-transfer reduction of ABNA(+) is enhanced significantly by the complexation with Sc(3+) to produce stable ABNA(*)-Sc(3+) complex which has been successfully detected by ESR. The electron self-exchange rates of the MPP(*)/MPP(+) system have been determined from the ESR line width variation and are compared with those of the ABNA(*)/ABNA(+) system.  相似文献

A comparison of the O(2) equilibrium curves of sperm-whale myoglobin locked in the liganded (CO-bound) and unliganded (deoxy) conformations by encapsulation in a wet porous sol-gel silica reveals a marked difference between them. The CO-bound state-locked myoglobin showed a nearly monophasic (hyperbolic) O(2) equilibrium curve with a dissociation constant of 0.2 Torr, which is smaller than that of myoglobin in solution (0.5 Torr). On the other hand, the deoxy state-locked myoglobin exhibited a multiphasic O(2) equilibrium curve that can be represented by a sum of three independent components with dissociation constants of 0.19, 0.90, and 44 Torr, respectively, indicating that deoxymyoglobin exists in multiple conformations. These results show that myoglobin can be frozen into ligand-dependent conformational populations at room temperature in the wet sol-gel and suggest that the overall O(2) equilibrium properties of myoglobin in solution are generated by a redistribution of protein conformational populations in response to ligand binding.  相似文献

The effect of solvent on solution or interfacial polycondensations was investigated in terms of selectivity and control of functional groups such as amine or hydroxyl groups toward polycondensation reactions. Solution polycondensation of a mixture of resorcinol (RL) and m-xylyenediamine (m-XD) with isophthaloyl chloride was affected by solvents to such extent as to change the course of the polycondensation reaction, and hexamethylenephosphoramide (HMPA) caused the formation of amide-rich polymer, while tetrahydrofuran (THF) was a solvent favoring formation of a polyamide ester with a regular structure. Polycondensation of 3,3′-dihydroxybenzidine (DHB) with isophthaloyl chloride yielded exclusively a linear polyamide in HMPA solution, while with aldehyde as a solvent polyester was obtained owing to the preservation of the amine group. Thus, it was found that the course of polycondensation reactions of monomers having different functional groups could be controlled by selection of a suitable solvent.  相似文献

The platelike crystals of a series of novel molecular conductors, which are based on the pi-donor molecules BDT-TTP (2,5-bis(1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene) with a tetrathiapentalene skeleton and lanthanide nitrate complex anions [Ln(NO3)x](3-x)(Ln = La, Ce, (Pr), Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) with localized 4f magnetic moments, were synthesized. Except for the Ce complex, the salts were composed of (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ln(NO(3))(5)] and were isostructural. Even though the Ce crystal had a different composition, (BDT-TTP)(6)[Ce(NO(3))(6)](C(2)H(5)OH)(x)() (x approximately 3), the crystals all had the space group P(-)1. Although the X-ray examination of the Pr salts was insufficient, the existence of two modifications was suggested in these systems by preliminary X-ray examination. Previously, we reported the crystal structures and unique magnetic properties of (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ln(NO(3))(5)] (Ln = Sm, Eu, Nd, Gd). Thus, by combining the results of this work with previous one, we for the first time succeeded in obtaining a complete set of organic conductors composed of the identical pi-donors (BDT-TTP in this case) and all the lanthanide nitrate complex anions (except the complex with Pm(3+)). The crystals were all metallic down to 2 K. Electronic band structure calculations resulted in two-dimensional Fermi surfaces, which was consistent with their stable metallic states. Except for the Lu complex, which lacked paramagnetic moments, the magnetic susceptibilities were measured on the six heavy lanthanide ion complex salts by a SQUID magnetometer (Ln = Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb). The large paramagnetic susceptibilities, which were caused by the paramagnetic moments of the rare-earth ions, were obtained. The Curie-Weiss law fairly accurately reproduced the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibilities of (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ho(NO(3))(5)] in the experimental temperature range (2-300 K) and a comparatively large Weiss temperature (|THETAV;|) was obtained (THETAV;(Ho) = -15 K). A Weiss temperature (THETAV;(Tm) = -8 K) was also obtained for Tm. The |THETAV;| values of other (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ln(NO(3))(5)] salts and (BDT-TTP)(6)[Ce(NO(3))(6)](C(2)H(5)OH)x(x approximately 3) were as follows: |THETAV;|/K = 4 (Er), < or =2 (Ce, Tb, Dy, Yb). The comparatively strong intermolecular magnetic interaction between Ho(3+) ions, which was suggested by the |THETAV;| value, is inconsistent with the traditional image of strongly localized 4f orbitals shielded by the electrons in the outer 5s and 5p orbitals. The dipole interactions between Ln(3+) ions causing the Curie-Weiss behavior and the comparatively large THETAV; value of (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ho(NO(3))(5)] is inconsistent with the data, since the complexes exhibit isostructural properties and there is not a clear relationship between the magnitudes of THETAV; values and those of magnetic moments. Therefore, it is possible that the 4f orbitals of Ho atom are sensitive to the ligand field, which will have an effect on the orbital moment of the Ho(3+) ion and/or produce a small amount of mixing between 4f and ligand orbitals to give rise to "real" intermolecular antiferromagnetic interaction through intermolecular overlapping between pi (BDT-TTP) and ligand orbitals of lanthanide nitrate complex anions.  相似文献

Full details of a direct catalytic asymmetric Mannich-type reaction of a hydroxyketone using a Et2Zn/(S,S)-linked-BINOL complex are described. By choosing the proper protective groups on imine nitrogen, either anti- or syn-beta-amino alcohol was obtained in good diastereomeric ratio, yield, and excellent enantiomeric excess using the same zinc catalysis. N-Diphenylphosphinoyl (Dpp) imine 3 gave anti-beta-amino alcohols in anti/syn = up to >98/2, up to >99% yield, and up to >99.5% ee, while Boc-imine 4 gave syn-beta-amino alcohols in anti/syn = up to 5/95, up to >99% yield, and up to >99.5% ee. The high catalyst turnover number (TON) is also noteworthy. Catalyst loading was successfully reduced to 0.02 mol % (TON = up to 4920) for the anti-selective reaction and 0.05 mol % (TON = up to 1760) for the syn-selective reaction. The Et2Zn/(S,S)-linked-BINOL complex exhibited far better TON than in previous reports of catalytic asymmetric Mannich-type reactions. Mechanistic studies to clarify the reason for the high catalyst efficiency as well as transformations of Mannich adducts are also described.  相似文献

New high temperature aromatic polybenzoxazinones of high molecular weight have been prepared by the cyclopolycondensation of 4,4′-diaminobiphenyl-3,3′-dicarboxylic acid (I) with aromatic dicarboxylic acid halides (II). The low temperature solution polymerization techniques afforded poly(amic acid) (III) of high molecular weight in the first step. An open-chain precursor subsequently underwent thermal cyclodehydration along the polymer chain at 200–350°C. in the second step, to give in quantitative yield a fully aromatic polybenzoxazinone (IV) of outstanding heat stability both in nitrogen and in air. The poly(amic acid) is soluble in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, and tough, transparent films can be cast from solution. Insoluble aromatic polybenzoxazinone films which possess excellent oxidative and thermal stability were obtained by the heat treatment of the polyamic acid. A detailed account of polymerization conditions in the low temperature solution polymerization of polybenzoxazinones is given, and the reaction mechanisms of cyclopolycondensation of poly(amic acids) and the formation of polybenzoxazinones are discussed.  相似文献

The self‐aggregation behavior of C60 fullerenes that bear two octadecyl chains (lipid 1 ) as well as the structures and electrochemical properties of cast films of 1 are described. We also examined the self‐aggregation behavior in organic solvents of three previously reported compounds: C60 with three each of hexadecyl (lipid 2 ), tetradecyl (lipid 3 ), or dodecyl (lipid 4 ) chains. The fullerene lipids in alcohols spontaneously formed spherical aggregates, whose diameters are related to the alkyl‐chain lengths, concentrations of the fullerene lipids, and the solvent polarity. The morphologies of the aggregates showed temperature dependence. Cast films of 1 formed multimolecular bilayer structures that undergo a phase transition typical of lipid bilayer membranes. The electrochemistry of cast films of 1 on an electrode in aqueous medium exhibits temperature dependence.  相似文献
