Iron has been determined in apple and vegetables spectrophotometrically, by complexing it with xylenol orange. 1:1 complex formed in a highly acidic medium is measured for its absorbance at its λmax of 585 nm. The results have been compared by employing atomic absorption technique. Apples and vegetable samples were collected from local markets of Pakistan. Statistical manipulations, t-test and F-test, were performed and it was found that the results from the two techniques have an excellent agreement.  相似文献

In this Letter we investigate the propagation of coupled nonlinear Alfven-spin and helicon-spin waves in a composite medium having the properties of both magnetic and semiconducting materials. We arrive at the nonlinear evolution equations for these coupled waves using the reductive perturbation method for which we obtain soliton solutions. A stainless steel leaf spring is designed and constructed followed by its performance evaluation by experiment and non-linear analysis so that an insight into the optimum use of material can be made. Cantilever beams of uniform strength, popularly termed as leaf springs, undergo much larger deflections in comparison to a beam of constant cross-section; that needs inclusions of geometric non-linearity for rigorous analysis. This study deals with such a cantilever beam, but takes into account the material non-linearity as well. Experiments were conducted for such a cantilever beam, with highly non-linear stress-strain curves. In addition to the experiment, a computer code in ‘C’ has been developed using the Runge-Kutta technique for the purpose of simulation. Effective modulus-curvature relations are obtained from the non-linear stress-strain relations for different sections of the beam and used for the analysis. It is seen that non-linear stress-strain curve governs the bending of the beam. Importantly, non-linear analysis shows the stresses are not so high as predicted by the linear theory without end-shortening. Moreover, the tensile and compressive stresses are different in magnitude and both decrease along the span. Experimental load-deflection curves are found to be initially concave upward but, non-linear and convex upward at a high load. Comparison of the numerical results with the available experimental results from another research group and theory shows excellent agreement verifying the soundness of the entire numerical simulation scheme.  相似文献

Two dimensional incompressible steady viscous nano-fluid flow with the impacts of heat generation and porous medium is examined numerically. For this objective Ti6Al4v are taken as nano-particles dispersed in different base fluids such as methanol, engine oil and water. Basically in this study we will compare three different nano-fluids to assess their flow behaviour and thermal performance. The flow model is developed under certain assumptions. The two dimensional non-linear PDEs are converted into non-linear ODEs with suitable transformation. The numerical procedure is adopted to find the results by using Bvp4c technique in MATLAB. Moreover, graphs are generated for various parameters against the temperature and velocity profiles. The fluid behaviour for different parameter is examined on velocity and temperature profile. It is depicted that for high values of volume fraction and curvature parameter nano-particles leads to high velocity and temperature profile. Moreover, velocity profile decreases for permeability parameter, while temperature profile enhances for heat generation parameter. The influence of Nusselt number and skin friction also assessed. The dielectric properties of coordination polymers has been a topic of recent interest, but the role of different functional groups on the dielectric properties of these polymers has not yet been fully addressed. Herein, the effects of electron-donating (R=NH2) and electron-withdrawing (R=NO2) groups on the dielectric behavior of such materials were investigated for two thermally stable and guest-free Zn-based coordination polymers, [Zn(L1)(L2)]n ( 1 ) and [Zn(L1)(L3)]n ( 2 ) [L1=2-(2-pyridyl) benzimidazole (Pbim), L2=5-aminoisophthalate (Aip), and L3=5-nitroisophthalate (Nip)]. The results of dielectric studies of 1 revealed that it possesses a high dielectric constant (κ=65.5 at 1 kHz), while compound 2 displayed an even higher dielectric constant (κ=110.3 at 1 kHz). The electron donating and withdrawing effects of the NH2 and NO2 substituents induce changes in the polarity of the polymers, which is due to the inductive effect from the aryl ring for both NO2 and NH2. Theoretical results from density functional theory (DFT) calculations, which also support the experimental findings, show that both compounds have a distinct electronic behavior with diverse wide bandgaps. The significance of the current work is to provide information about the structure-dielectric property relationships. So, this study promises to pave the way for further research on the effects of different functional groups on coordination polymers on their dielectric properties.  相似文献
