High, electrochemically controlled electrical conductivity (0.2–0.3 S cm?1) was measured for the first time for the metal–metal bonded polymeric compound [Ru(bpy)(CO)2]n (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine). The conductivity depended on the degree of partial oxidation of the initially zero-valent Ru to RuI in the chains and was found to increase by four orders of magnitude after 5% oxidative doping. Linear conductance vs. doping level dependence was found for low levels and the conductivity of films could repeatedly be switched on and off. The conduction process is ascribed to charge delocalisation on the Ru chains in analogy to that of other similar chains formed by stacking of planar transition metal d8 complexes.  相似文献

Molecules acting as antioxidants capable of scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) are of utmost importance in the living cell. The antioxidative properties of pyridoxine (vitamin B6) have recently been discovered. In this study, we have analyzed the reactivity of pyridoxine toward the ROS (.-)OH, (.-)OOH, and (.-)O(2)- at the density functional theory level (functionals B3LYP and MPW1B95). Two reaction types have been studied as follows: addition to the aromatic ring atoms and hydrogen/proton abstraction. Our results show that (.-)OH is the most reactive species, while (.-)OOH displays low reactivity and (.-)O2(-) does not react at all with pyridoxine. The most exergonic reactions are those where (.-)H is removed from the CH(2)OH groups or the ring-bound OH group and range from -33 to -39 kcal/mol. The most exergonic addition reactions occur by attacking the carbon atoms bonded to nitrogen but with an energy gain of only 6 kcal/mol.  相似文献

Stereoselective conjugate additions to chiral N-enoyl amides employing various monoorganocuprate reagents, Li[RCuI], are described. The presence of TMSI in the addition of Li[RCuI] in THF provided the highest stereoselectivities. Reversed major diastereomeric ratios were obtained employing Li[RCuI] in ether or conventional copper-promoted Grignard reagents. The results presented support the favored anti-s-cis conformation of the substrates using Li[RCuI]/TMSI in THF, while the copper-promoted Grignard reagents or the Li[RCuI] reagents in ether favor the opposite syn-s-cis conformation. Influence of lithium ions on the stereoselective conjugate addition of the monoorganocuprate reagent, Li[BuCuI], has been investigated and two different mechanistic pathways are presented. The results show that iodotrimethylsilane (TMSI) is crucial for the asymmetric conjugate addition of the copper reagent, but only in THF or when 12-crown-4 is used. The reaction is thought not to involve any halosilane in any critical steps in the organocopper mechanisms conducted in ether. The (CuI)4(SMe2)3 complex precursor plays an instrumental role for the conjugate addition using monoorganocopper reagents.  相似文献

Interactions between two negatively charged mica surfaces across aqueous solutions containing various amounts of a 10% charged cationic polyelectrolyte have been studied. It is found that the mica surface charge is neutralized when the polyelectrolyte is adsorbed from a 10–50 ppm aqueous solution. Consequently no electrostatic double-layer force is observed. Instead an attractive force acts between the surfaces in the distance regime 250–100 Å. We suggest that this attraction is caused by bridging. Additional adsorption takes place when the polyelectrolyte concentration is increased to 100 and 300 ppm, and a long-range repulsion develops. This repulsive force is both of electrostatic and steric origin. The polyelectrolyte layer adsorbed from a 50 ppm solution does not desorb when the polyelectrolyte solution is replaced with an aqueous polyelectrolyte-free solution. Injection of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) into the measuring chamber to a concentration of about 0.01 CMC (8.3 × 10−5M) does not affect the adsorbed layers or the interaction forces. However, when the SDS concentration is increased to 0.02 CMC (0.166 mM) the adsorbed layer expands dramatically due to adsorption of SDS to the polyelectrolyte chains. The sudden swelling suggests a cooperative adsorption of SDS to the preadsorbed polyelectrolyte layer and that the critical aggregation concentration between the polyelectrolyte and SDS at the surface is about 0.02 CMC. The flocculation behavior of the polyelectrolyte in solution upon addition of SDS was also examined. It was found that 0.16–0.32 mol SDS/mol charged segments on the polyelectrolyte is enough to make the solution slightly turbid.  相似文献

A biphenyl privileged structure library containing three attachment points were synthesized using a catechol-based safety-catch linker strategy. The method requires the attachment of a bromo-acid to the linker, followed by a Pd-catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling reaction. Further derivatization, activation of the linker with strong acid and aminolysis afforded the respective products in high purity and good overall yield. To show the versatility of the synthesis, a 199-member library was generated. The library samples both conformational and chemical diversity about a well-known privileged substructure.  相似文献

An oxidative chemical vapor deposition (OCVD) process was used to coat flexible textile fiber (viscose) with highly conductive polymer, poly (3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) in presence of ferric (III) chloride (FeCl3) oxidant. OCVD is a solvent free process used to get uniform, thin, and highly conductive polymer layer on different substrates. In this paper, PEDOT coated viscose fibers, prepared under specific conditions, exhibited high conductivity 14.2 S/cm. The effects of polymerization conditions, such as polymerization time, oxidant concentration, dipping time of viscose fiber in oxidant solution, and drying time of oxidant treated viscose fiber, were carefully investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and FT‐IR analysis revealed that polymerization of PEDOT on surface of viscose fiber has been taken place and structural analysis showed strong interactions between PEDOT and viscose fiber. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) was employed to investigate the amount of PEDOT in PEDOT coated viscose fiber and interaction of PEDOT with viscose fiber. The effect of PEDOT coating on the mechanical properties of the viscose fiber was evaluated by tensile strength testing of the coated fibers. The obtained PEDOT coated viscose fiber having high conductivity, could be used in smart clothing for medical and military applications, heat generation, and solar cell demonstrators. Multiple-quantum spin relaxation is a sensitive probe for correlated conformational exchange dynamics on microsecond to millisecond time scales in biomolecules. We measured differential 1H-15N multiple-quantum relaxation rates for the backbone amide groups of the E140Q mutant of the C-terminal domain of calmodulin at three static magnetic field strengths. The differential multiple-quantum relaxation rates range between -88.7 and 92.7 s(-1), and the mean and standard deviation are 7.0 +/- 24 s(-1), at a static magnetic field strength of 14.1 T. Together with values of the 1H and 15N chemical shift anisotropies (CSA) determined separately, the field-dependent data enable separation of the different contributions from dipolar-dipolar, CSA-CSA, and conformational exchange cross-correlated relaxation mechanisms to the differential multiple-quantum relaxation rates. The procedure yields precise quantitative information on the dominant conformational exchange contributions observed in this protein. The field-dependent differences between double- and zero-quantum relaxation rates directly benchmark the rates of conformational exchange, showing that these are fast on the chemical shift time scale for the large majority of residues in the protein. Further analysis of the differential 1H-15N multiple-quantum relaxation rates using previously determined exchange rate constants and populations, obtained from 15N off-resonance rotating-frame relaxation data, enables extraction of the product of the chemical shift differences between the resonance frequencies of the 1H and 15N spins in the exchanging conformations, deltasigma(H)deltasigma(N). Thus, information on the 1H chemical shift differences is obtained, while circumventing complications associated with direct measurements of conformational exchange effects on 1H single-quantum coherences in nondeuterated proteins. The method significantly increases the information content available for structural interpretation of the conformational exchange process, partly because deltasigma(H)deltasigma(N) is a signed quantity, and partly because two chemical shifts are probed simultaneously. The present results support the hypothesis that the exchange in the calcium-loaded state of the E140Q mutant involves conformations similar to those of the wild-type apo (closed) and calcium-loaded (open) states.  相似文献
