High rate performances of hydrogen titanate nanowires electrodes

In this study, H₂Ti₃O₇ nanowires were successfully synthesized via a hydrothermal process and post-treatments. The diameter of the nanowires is found to be about 30 nm and the length up to several micrometers. A lithium battery using H₂Ti₃O₇ nanowires as the active material of the positive electrode exhibits a discharge capacity of 100 mA hg⁻¹ and still keeps stable after 200 cycles at a current density as high as 40 Ag⁻¹, demonstrating excellent high rate performance.     

Stereochemistry of lappaol A and F

The absolute configuration of lappaol A and F was determined by the correlation of the ozonolysis products with 2R,3R-(?)-dicarbomethoxymethyl-γ-butyrolactone and S-(?)-methyl paraconate.     

Dispersion und Absorption transversaler Schallwellen im Magnetfeld

The propagation velocity and absorption of transverse ultrasonic waves have bsen measured in a polycristalline metallic probe as functions of a magnetic field parallel to the direction of propagation. In agreement with the macroscopic theory, these measurements showed, that the propagation velocity was increased by the magnetic field for frequencies below a transition frequency characteristic for the medium. In case of high frequencies the magnetic field causes an absorption. In the dispersion region characterized by the transition frequency, the magnetohydrodynamic Reynolds number is of order one and the magnetically induced changes in propagation velocity and absorption are strongly frequency dependent.     

Asymptotic Solutions of Hamilton–Jacobi Equations with Semi-Periodic Hamiltonians

We study the long time behavior of viscosity solutions of the Cauchy problem for Hamilton–Jacobi equations in ? ⁿ . We prove that if the Hamiltonian H(x, p) is coercive and strictly convex in a mild sense in p and upper semi-periodic in x, then any solution of the Cauchy problem “converges” to an asymptotic solution for any lower semi-almost periodic initial function.     

Analytical calculations of four-neutrino oscillations in matter

We analytically derive the transition probabilities for four-neutrino oscillations in matter. The time-evolution operator giving the neutrino oscillations is expressed by a finite sum of terms up to the third power of the Hamiltonian in a matrix form, using the Cayley-Hamilton theorem. The result of the computation for the probabilities in some mass patterns tells us that it is actually difficult to observe the resonance between one of the three active neutrinos and the fourth (sterile) neutrino near the earth, even if the fourth neutrino exists.
