Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composites were prepared by controlled loading of Nafion (5 to 15 wt%) by solution casting using water and dimethylformamide (DMF) as a solvent. The surface morphology of composite analyzed by atomic force microscopy (AFM) reveals the presence of Nafion ionomers. The increase in interlayer spacing of modified PVDF/PVA polymer system as a function of Nafion was detected by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The major change in Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy confirms the chemical bond C=O stretching around 1,700 cm?1 due to Nafion. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) demonstrates the thermal stability of polymer composites and the decrease in melting temperature (T m). The optimized AC conductivity (σ) of the prepared composite was evaluated by using an impedance analyzer as a function of temperature (40 to 150 °C) at constant 30-MHz frequency. The highest conductivity of 1.3?×?10?2 S m?1 was observed at 80 °C for 10 wt% of Nafion and correlated with structure, morphology and thermal properties of modified PVDF/PVA/Nafion composites. The experimental results may be useful for sensors, fuel cells and battery application domains.  相似文献

The zinc enzyme carbonic anhydrase (CA, EC 4.2.1.1) is inhibited by several classes of zinc-binders (sulfonamides, sulfamates, and sulfamides) as well as by compounds which do not interact with the metal ion (phenols, polyamines and coumarins). Here we report a new class of potent CA inhibitors which bind the zinc ion: the dithiocarbamates (DTCs). They coordinate to the zinc ion from the enzyme active site in monodentate manner and establish many favorable interactions with amino acid residues nearby. Several low nanomolar CA I, II and IX inhibitors were detected.  相似文献

The use of single grain quartz OSL dating has become widespread over the past decade, particularly with application to samples likely to have been incompletely bleached before burial. By reducing the aliquot size to a single grain the probability of identifying the grain population most likely to have been well-bleached at deposition is maximised and thus the accuracy with which the equivalent dose can be determined is – at least in principle – improved.However, analysis of single grain dose distributions requires knowledge of the dispersion of the well-bleached part of the dose distribution. This can be estimated by measurement of a suitable analogue, e.g. a well-bleached aeolian sample, but this requires such an analogue to be available, and in addition the assumptions that the sample is in fact a) well-bleached, and b) has a similar dose rate heterogeneity to the fossil deposit. Finally, it is an implicit assumption in such analysis that any over-dispersion is not significantly dose dependent.In this study we have undertaken laboratory investigations of the dose dependency of over-dispersion using a well-bleached modern sample with an average measured dose of 36 ± 3 mGy. This sample was prepared as heated (750 °C for 1 h), bleached and untreated portions which were then given uniform gamma doses ranging from 100 mGy to 208 Gy. We show that for these samples the relative laboratory over-dispersion is not constant as a function of dose and that the over-dispersion is smaller in heated samples. We also show that the dim grains in the distributions have a greater over-dispersion than the bright grains, implying that insensitive samples will have greater values of over-dispersion than sensitive samples.  相似文献

Studying the dynamic interaction between host cells and pathogen is vital but remains technically challenging. We describe herein a time-resolved chemical proteomics strategy enabling host and pathogen temporal interaction profiling (HAPTIP) for tracking the entry of a pathogen into the host cell. A novel multifunctional chemical proteomics probe was introduced to label living bacteria followed by in vivo crosslinking of bacteria proteins to their interacting host-cell proteins at different time points initiated by UV for label-free quantitative proteomics analysis. We observed over 400 specific interacting proteins crosslinked with the probe during the formation of Salmonella-containing vacuole (SCV). This novel chemical proteomics approach provides a temporal interaction profile of host and pathogen in high throughput and would facilitate better understanding of the infection process at the molecular level.  相似文献

Cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) is a natural aromatic organic oil consisting of phenolic compounds with interesting structures. Extraction of CNSL was performed in a Soxhlet apparatus. The major (90 %) component of CNSL is anacardic acid, which is easily decarboxylated to cardanol (10 %) by use of conventional methods. In this paper we describe a three-step synthesis of Mannich polyols for rigid foams. The first step is synthesis of N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,3-oxazolidine (the Mannich precursor) by condensation of paraformaldehyde and diethanolamine. The second step involves synthesis of the Mannich base phenolic ring of cardanol by reaction with N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,3-oxazolidine. The third step is alkoxylation. The synthesized polyols were characterized by FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopy and thin-layer chromatography.  相似文献

Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) catalyze the hydration of CO(2) forming HCO(3)(-) and a proton, an important reaction for many physiological processes including respiration, fluid secretion, and pH regulation. As such, CA isoforms are prominent clinical targets for treating various diseases. The clinically used acetazolamide (AZM) is a sulfonamide that binds with high affinity to human CA isoform II (HCA?II). There are several X-ray structures available of AZM bound to various CA isoforms, but these complexes do not show the charged state of AZM or the hydrogen atom positions of the protein and solvent. Neutron diffraction is a useful technique for directly observing H atoms and the mapping of H-bonding networks that can greatly contribute to rational drug design. To this end, the neutron structure of H/D exchanged HCA?II crystals in complex with AZM was determined. The structure reveals the molecular details of AZM binding and the charged state of the bound drug. This represents the first determined neutron structure of a clinically used drug bound to its target.  相似文献

Working with biological fluids poses a challenge of visualizing proteins present in lower concentrations. This study describes a batch‐mode chromatographic method for the fractionation of human amniotic fluid (AF). This method is easy to use with minimal sample quantity, resin volume and sample processing time. For albumin depletion, two methods were evaluated. The results demonstrated that specific depletion of albumin, using affinity‐ligand‐based resin, is more efficient than the conventional dye‐based method. The albumin‐depleted human AF was fractionated by strong anion‐exchange resin in spin devices, for sample, complexity reduction and enrichment of low‐abundant proteins. Analysis of four eluate fractions generated after this step shows enrichment of few low‐abundant proteins. Two novel low‐abundant proteins, Rab GDP dissociation inhibitor β and peptide methionine sulfoxide reductase, were identified from human AF. α‐1‐B Glycoprotein was successfully identified by this strategy, whereas the published literature reports that it was not identified by strong anion‐exchange FPLC followed by SDS‐PAGE. Therefore, the current method has distinct advantages over the conventional column‐based chromatography. This study also reports altered expression of some proteins in Rh‐isoimmunized AF samples in comparison with normal AF.  相似文献

An analysis of the tunable superprism effect in a two-dimensional nonlinear photonic crystal is presented. We show that, by shifting the photonic bands of the crystal through the Kerr effect induced by a pump beam, one can tune the refraction angle of a transmitted signal beam over tens of degrees. We also demonstrate that the optical power required to tune the refracted angle is dramatically reduced if the frequency of the pump beam is close to a bandgap edge.  相似文献

The article aims to study the reduced-order anti-synchronization between projections of fractional order hyperchaotic and chaotic systems using active control method. The technique is successfully applied for the pair of systems viz., fractional order hyperchaotic Lorenz system and fractional order chaotic Genesio-Tesi system. The sufficient conditions for achieving anti-synchronization between these two systems are derived via the Laplace transformation theory. The fractional derivative is described in Caputo sense. Applying the fractional calculus theory and computer simulation technique, it is found that hyperchaos and chaos exists in the fractional order Lorenz system and fractional order Genesio-Tesi system with order less than 4 and 3 respectively. The lowest fractional orders of hyperchaotic Lorenz system and chaotic Genesio-Tesi system are 3.92 and 2.79 respectively. Numerical simulation results which are carried out using Adams-Bashforth-Moulton method, shows that the method is reliable and effective for reduced order anti-synchronization.  相似文献
