In situ hybridization to chitosan/magnetite nanocomposite induced by the magnetic field

Chitosan/magnetite nanocomposite was synthesized induced by magnetic field via in situ hybridization in ambient condition. Results of XRD patterns and TEM micrographs indicated that magnetite particles with 10–20 nm were dispersed in chitosan homogeneously. An interesting result is that magnetite nanoparticles were assembled to form chain-like structures under the influence of the external magnetic field, which mimics the magnetite chains inside of magnetotatic bacteria. The saturated magnetization (Ms) of nano-magnetite in chitosan was 50.54 emu/g, which is as high as 54% of bulk magnetite. The remanence (Mr) and coercivity (Hc) were 4 emu/g and14.8 Oe, respectively, which indicated that magnetite nanoparticles were superparamagnetic. The key of route is that a pre-precipitated chitosan hydrogel membrane, used as chemical reactor, which controlled the precipitation of chitosan precipitation and in situ transformation of magnetite from the precursor simultaneously in the magnetic field environment.     

Magnetic configurations of hybrid ferromagnetic dot–superconductor systems

In-plane single domain and vortex magnetization configurations of the magnetic dot in the hybrid superconductor–ferromagnet system are considered. Single domain configuration energy shift due to the presence of superconductor is calculated. The change of the phase curve of the ferromagnetic dot magnetization due to the repulsion of the magnetic field by the superconductor is obtained. Up to the two-fold decrease of the ferromagnetic dot critical radius due to the presence of the superconductor is predicted.     

Theoretical investigation of magnetic property in paramagnetic neodymium gallium garnet under high magnetic field

The magnetic property in neodymium gallium garnet (NdGaG) is studied by the quantum theory. The ground configuration split states are calculated taking into account the spin–orbit interaction and crystal field effect. Taking account of the Nd–Nd exchange interaction, a good agreement between experimental and theoretical values can be obtained for the variation of the magnetic moment with the external magnetic field under “extreme” conditions (low temperature and high magnetic field). Moreover, the temperature dependence of magnetic moment and the magnetic susceptibility χ is also discussed. Above 30 K, the magnetization (M) shows a linear field (H_e) dependence.     

The LPCTrap experiment: measurement of the β–ν angular correlation in 6He using a transparent Paul trap

We report on the status of the LPCTrap experiment, devoted to measure the β–ν angular correlation in the pure Gamow–Teller decay of ⁶He. This measurement is motivated by the search for the presence of tensor type contributions to the weak interaction. The ⁶He ions are confined in a novel transparent Paul trap. The β particles and the recoil ions are detected in coincidence to deduce the angular correlation parameter. The commissioning run performed in 2005 has given the proof of principle of this experiment. Up to 10⁵ coincidences were recorded during a second run in 2006.     

BLOW-UP RESULTS AND ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOR OF THE EMDEN-FOWLER EQUATION u＂ = ｜u｜^p

In this article the author works with the ordinary differential equation u＂ = ｜u｜^p for some p 〉 0 and obtains some interesting phenomena concerning blow-up, blow-up rate, life-span, stability, instability, zeros and critical points of solutions to this equation.     

养殖池塘沉积物的重金属分布及污染特征

浙江省淅西北地区淡水养殖池塘沉积物重金属调查研究表明，养殖池塘沉积物中7种重金属元素分布不均衡，差异也较大，除Hg和Cr元素外，其余重金属元素已大大超过土壤本底值．虽然其实测含量都未超出国家规定的标准值范围，但沉积物中重金属元素对养殖水环境、养殖品种存在的潜在污染与危害值得关注．污染指数评价显示，养殖池塘沉积物中主要污染物质为Cu和Cr，而Hg、Pb污染程度相对较轻．     

改善液晶光阀投影光学系统偏振特性的理论设计方法

定量分析了液晶光阀投影光学系统中影响系统对比度的主要因素，利用矢量方法建立三维空间数学模型对光线进行追迹，并利用琼斯矩阵和矢量光学的原理分析了偏振器件--主要是波片--和各种光学薄膜对光学系统性能的影响。给出了在一定假设条件下的对没有波片的光学系统和插入波征后的光学系统的仿真计算结果。两组数据比较表明在光路中插入合适相位差的波片可以显著提高系统对比度等性能。     

Eigenvalue and stability of singular differential delay systems

The eigenvalue and the stability of singular differential systems with delay are considered. Firstly we investigate some properties of the eigenvalue, then give the exact exponential estimation for the fundamental solution, and finally discuss the necessary and sufficient condition of uniform asymptotic stability.     

The Tolerance of All-Optical Switching Based on Cascaded Second-Order Nonlinearity in PPLN APE Waveguide

Based on solving the couple mode equation numerically, the characterization of the signal power on the gate power was analyzed. And the relationship of the tolerance of the grating period and the bulk temperature on the interaction length was analyzed.     

Controlled/living polymerization of 2‐(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate and its block copolymer with tert‐butyl methacrylate by atom transfer radical polymerization

Polymerization of 2‐(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DEAEMA) via homogeneous atom transfer radical polymerization under various reaction conditions is described. The effects of the initiators and solvents were examined. With 1,1,4,7,10,10‐hexamethyl triethylenetetramine/copper(I) chloride/p‐toluenesulfonyl chloride as the ligand/catalyst/initiator system in methanol, poly(DEAEMA) with a polydispersity index as low as 1.07 was synthesized. Kinetic studies demonstrated the polymerization was very well controlled and exhibited the living characteristic of the process. Well‐defined block copolymers of DEAEMA and tert‐butyl methacrylate (tBMA) were successfully synthesized. The copolymers could be synthesized with equally good results by starting with either p(DEAEMA) or p(tBMA) as the macroinitiators. However, only the macroinitiators terminated with chlorine should be used. The corresponding macroinitiators with bromine as a transferable group did not yield well‐defined copolymers. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 41: 2688–2695, 2003
