Inclusive Δ++ production in K+p interactions at 8.2 and 16 GeV/c

The reaction K⁺p→Δ⁺⁺(1236)+ anything is studied at beam momenta 8.2 and 16 GeV/c and compared with other Δ⁺⁺ producing reactions. We find that the low-mass Δ⁺⁺π^? enhancement affects the shapes of Δ⁺⁺ inclusive distributions. The triple-Regge formula is found to be consistent with the data. Dual properties of this formula are successfully tested.     

Une demonstration combinatoire de la formule de lagrange a deux variables

Nous proposons une preuve combinatoire de la formule de Lagrange pour les fonctions a deux variables. Cette preuve s'appuie ur l'etude d'un langage generalisant celui de Lukacievicz et sur la λ-conjugaison notion qui etend la conjugaison habituelle des mots du monoide libre.     

Application de l’Analuyse par Radioactivation Neutronique et du Calcul Electronique au Dosage non Destructif de Traces de Chlore dans les Silices-alumines

A method applicable for serial determination of traces of chlorine in SiO₂−Al₂O₃ catalysts by neutron activation is described. The results are evaluated by means of a computer. The³⁸Cl activity is subtracted from the activity of the interfering components (⁵⁶Mn,²⁴Na) and this enables a direct γ-spectrometric determination. In praxis ten samples should be irradiated simultaneously and for this reason 3 standards are irradiated together with the samples to correct for the fluxus gradient. The reproducibility of the method is better than 2 per cent for 10–300 mg samples with a Cl content of 10 ppm.      

Kinetically stable complexes in water: the role of hydration and hydrophobicity

We describe here the synthesis and characterization of a molecular receptor that forms kinetically and thermodynamically stable host-guest complexes in water. This cavitand-based host is composed of a preorganized aromatic pocket whose rim is decorated with four negatively charged carboxylate groups. (1)H NMR and isothermal titration calorimetry have been used to characterize the behavior of the resulting complexes in response to changes in pH, buffer identity, and salt concentration and in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate micelles.
