SBA-15 mesoporous material was prepared by microwave-hydrothermal method and was used as support in TiO2-loaded SBA-15 photocatalysts. The physical properties of these particles were investigated. We also examined the activity
of these samples as photocatalysts for the decomposition of orange II. Titania loaded on a silica matrix decreases the surface
area of the support as expected for TiO2 incorporation. For TiO2-loaded SBA-15 photocatalysts, the IR absorption at ∼960 cm−1 commonly accepted as the characteristic vibration of the Ti-O-Si bond. The photocatalytic activity increases with an increase

Interest in low-cost, analytical-scale, highly efficient and sensitive separation methods for cells, among which bacteria, is increasing. Particle separation in hollow-fiber flow field-flow fractionation (HF FlFFF) has been recently improved by the optimization of the HF FIFFF channel design. The intrinsic simplicity and low cost of this HF FlFFF channel allows for its disposable usage. which is particularly appealing for analytical bio-applications. Here, for the first time, we present a feasibility study on high-performance, hyperlayer HF FIFFF of micrometer-sized bacteria (Escherichia coli) and of different types of cells (human red blood cells, wine-making yeast from Saccharomyces cerevisiae). Fractionation performance is shown to be at least comparable to that obtained with conventional, flat-channel hyperlayer FIFFF of cells, at superior size-based selectivity and reduced analysis time. 相似文献

To prepare water‐soluble, syndiotacticity‐rich poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) microfibrils for various industrial applications, we synthesized syndiotacticity‐rich, low molecular weight PVA by the solution polymerization of vinyl pivalate (VPi) in tetrahydrofuran (THF) at low temperatures with 2,2′‐azobis(2,4‐dimethylvaleronitrile) (ADMVN) as an initiator and successive saponification of poly(vinyl pivalate) (PVPi). Effects of the initiator and monomer concentrations and the polymerization temperature were investigated in terms of the polymerization behaviors and molecular structures of PVPi and the corresponding syndiotacticity‐rich PVA. The polymerization rate of VPi in THF was proportional to the 0.91 power of the ADMVN concentration, indicating the heterogeneous nature of THF polymerization. The low‐temperature solution polymerization of VPi in THF with ADMVN proved to be successful in obtaining water‐soluble PVA with a number‐average degree of polymerization (Pn) of 300–900, a syndiotactic dyad content of 60–63%, and an ultimate conversion of VPi into PVPi of over 75%. Despite the low molecular weight of PVA with Pn = 800, water‐soluble PVA microfibrillar fibers were prepared because of the high level of syndiotacticity. In contrast, for PVA with Pn = 330, shapeless and globular morphologies were observed, indicating that molecular weight has an important role in the in situ fibrillation of syndiotacticity‐rich PVA. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We investigate the role of the t-channel meson exchange in various photoproduction processes to discuss features of the respective production mechanism. For the less model-dependent analysis we work with the t-channel meson pole reggeized in the Born approximation amplitude. With the meson–baryon coupling constants chosen consistently with symmetry prediction we show that the Reggeized pole model could reproduce the experimental data to a good degree in the lower energy region. Numerical consequences show the significance of the tensor meson exchange in the γ p → K +Λ, the dominance of the pseudoscalar meson exchange in the πΔ (and KΣ*) processes, and the sizable role of the vector-meson magnetic moment in the charged ρ (and K*) photoproductions, respectively. These new features from the present analyses could provide a useful guide for future study of the N* resonances in the low energy region. 相似文献
