Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beams of various higher-order radial modes are generated by using a reflective phase-only liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) spatial light modulator (SLM). Because of the LCOS SLM's phase-modulation characteristic of a wide spatial bandwidth, a phase modulation scheme effectively generates higher-order LG beams of up to the fifth-order radial mode. We also perform correlation analyses between the observed and the theoretical two-dimensional mode profiles to universally obtain correlation coefficients of more than 0.946, which suggest mode generations of high quality.  相似文献

The influence of cell density of cells cryopreserved inside a collagen matrix at various cooling rates was investigated. Human fibroblasts were three-dimensionally cultured for 2 days in a collagen sponge (20 mm in diameter and 1 mm in thickness) as an extracellular matrix to imitate biological tissue (artificial tissue). Different cell densities for the artificial tissue were used, from 10(5) to 10(7) cells/cm(3). Four artificial tissues were first stacked in a test chamber, frozen at a cooling rate of 0.3 to 50 degrees C/min in a solution of Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium, 20% fetal bovine serum and 10% dimethylsulfoxide, kept frozen below -185 degrees C for 2 hours, and then finally thawed. Membrane integrity of fibroblasts using a trypan blue exclusion assay was evaluated as an index for post-thaw cellular viability. Results show that with increasing cell density, the post-thaw membrane integrity decreased. Therefore, in the cryopreservation of biological tissue, it seems high cell density is one factor which causes a decline in viability.  相似文献

Summary The Induced drag of a wing with optimum lift distributions is studied, which lies on a diameter of a closed wind tunnel of circular cross section. Exact expressions of the spanwise lift distribution and the induced drag are obtained from the Trefftz plane flow field. When the ratio b/d of wing span to tunnel diameter increases, the lift distribution changes gradually from elliptic to uniform ones, and the induced drag also gradually decreases until it becomes zero. An alternative solution based on the method of matched asymptotic expansions confirms the exact theory to be valid. Throughout this paper the flow is assumed inviscid and incompressible, whereas the viscous effect are briefly descirbed.
Übersicht Es wird der induzierte Widerstand eines Tragflügels mit optimaler Auftriebsverteilung untersucht. Der Tragflügel Hegt diametral in einem geschlossenen Windkanal mit Kreisquerschnitt. Aus einer Betrachtung des Strömungsfeldes in der Trefftz-Ebene werden exakte Ausdrücke für die Auftriebs- und Widerstandsverteilung abgeleitet. Wenn das Verhältnis b/d von Flügelspannweite zum Kanaldurchmesser vergrößert wird, dann ändert sich die Auftriebsverteilung allmählich von einer elliptischen zu einer gleichförmigen, und der induzierte Widerstand nimmt bis auf Null ab. Eine alternativ gewonnene Lösung mit Hilfe von gemischten asymptotischen Reihenentwicklungen bestätigt die Richtigkeit der Theorie. Bei den Untersuchungen wird die Strömung als reibungsfrei und inkompressibel vorausgesetzt, jedoch werden Zähigkeitseffekte kurz beschrieben.

This study describes the framework of the quantum mechanical (QM)/Monte Carlo (MC)/free‐energy perturbation (FEP) method, a FEP method based on MC simulations using quantum chemical calculations. Because a series of structures generated by interpolating internal coordinates between transition state and reactant did not produce smooth free‐energy profiles, we used structures from the intrinsic reaction coordinate calculations. This method was first applied to the Diels–Alder reaction between methyl vinyl ketone and cyclopentadiene and produced ΔG values of 20.1 and 21.4 kcal mol?1 in aqueous and methanol solutions, respectively. They are very consistent with the experimentally observed values. The other two applications were the free‐energy surfaces for the Cope elimination of N,N‐dimethyl‐3‐phenylbutan‐2‐amine oxide in aqueous, dimethyl sulfoxide, and tetrahydrofuran solutions, and the Kemp decarboxylation of 6‐hydroxybenzo‐isoxazole‐3‐carboxylic acid in aqueous, dimethyl sulfoxide, and CH3CN solutions. The calculated activation free energies differed by less than 1.8 kcal mol?1 from the experimental values for these reactions. Although we used droplet models for the QM/MC/FEP simulations, the calculated results for three reactions are very close to the experimental data. It was confirmed that most of the interactions between the solute and solvents can be described using small numbers of solvent molecules. This is because a few solvent molecules can produce large portions of the solute–solvent interaction energies at the reaction centers. When we confirmed the dependency on the droplet sizes of solvents, the QM/MC/FEP for a large droplet with 106 water molecules produced a ΔG value similar to the experimental values, as well as that for a small droplet with 34 molecules. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel method has been developed to fabricate the assembly of Au colloidal nanoparticles (NPs) using SiO(2) monomers. The key strategy was the use of a controlled sol-gel procedure including hydrolysis, deposition, and condensation of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). Namely, the assembly of Au NPs was created by the anisotropic deposition of SiO(2) monomers and subsequent permanent fixing by the growth of a SiO(2) shell. Various assemblies of Au NPs such as dimer, trimer, and pearl-chain morphology were fabricated by systematically changing the concentration and injection speed of TEOS. A longitudinal plasmon resonance band was observed as a result of the assembly of Au NPs and can be tuned from visible to near-infrared by altering the length of pearl-chain morphology. In addition, single Au NP was homogeneously coated with a SiO(2) shell by means of controlling the deposition rate of SiO(2) monomers during a Sto?ber synthesis without the use of a silane coupling agent or bulk polymer as the surface primer to render the Au surface vitreophilic. The Au NPs (mean size 11.4 nm in diameter) were thus encapsulated into SiO(2) beads with a wide range of sizes (from 20 to 50 nm in diameter). These pure SiO(2)-coated Au beads with tunable shell thickness should be crucial for biosensors, particularly as Raman-tag particles.  相似文献

Determination methods of halide ions (X(-) = F(-), Cl(-), Br(-) and I(-)) by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESIMS) were developed, where negative ions of the ternary complexes of group-13 elements, nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA), and halides were measured. In particular, these halides were simultaneously determined by measuring [InX(nta)](-), and the limits of detection (LODs) were 1.1 μmol dm(-3) for F(-), 0.32 μmol dm(-3) for Cl(-), 3.8 nmol dm(-3) for Br(-), and 1.6 nmol dm(-3) for I(-), respectively. This approach was extended to the determination of CN(-), where the ternary complex of Cu(II), CN(-) and 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol (PAR), i.e., [(63)Cu(II)(CN)(par)](-) (m/z 302) was measured. The LOD for CN(-) was 20 nmol dm(-3).  相似文献

The development of a new class of hydrazide type organocatalyst, (4R,5R)-1,3-bis(isopropylamino)-4,5-dihenylimidazolidin-2-one 2a, for enantioselective Diels-Alder reactions between cyclopentadiene and α,β-unsaturated aldehydes are presented. The new organocatalyst 2a promoted the reaction, affording Diels-Alder adducts in good yields with good levels of enantioselectivity.  相似文献

A series of selenium and tellurium bis(carbodithioates and carbothioates) were synthesized. X-Ray structure analysis revealed that Se(SSCC(6)H(4)OMe-2)(2), Te(SSCC(6)H(4)OMe-2)(2) and Te(SSCC(6)H(4)Me-4)(2) have trapezoidal-planar configuration of ES(4) (E = Se, Te) and despite the larger atomic radii, the C=S···Te distances in Te(SSCC(6)H(4)OMe-2)(2) are comparable to those in the corresponding selenium derivatives Se(SSCC(6)H(4)OMe-2)(2). Molecular-orbital calculations performed on compounds E(E'SCR)(2) (E = S, Se, Te; E' = O, S; R = Me, Ph, C(6)H(4)OMe-2) showed that the syn-conformers of Se(SSCR)(2) and Te(SSCR)(2) are more stable than the corresponding anti-ones, while, in the case of carbothioic acid derivatives, E(SOCR)(2) showed that their anti-conformers are all more stable than the corresponding syn-ones. Natural bond orbital (NBO) analyses of these dithio-compounds revealed that two types of orbital interactions, n(S(1))→σ*(E-S(2)) and n(O)→σ*(E-S(2)), play a role in the bonding of E[S(2)S(1)CC(6)H(4)OMe-2](2) (E = Se, Te) and the former play a particularly predominant role.  相似文献
