A theoretical study based on force-field calculations has been performed to investigate the structural preferences of crystalline even nylons n with large and very large aliphatic segments. Atomistic energy calculations and Monte Carlo simulations were carried out considering the conventional and forms of nylons 10, 12, 18, 24, and 32. Results indicated that the form is the most favored for nylons 10, 12, 18, and 24. However, the structure was unstable for nylon 32, a polymer in which the density of hydrogen bonds is almost negligible. In this case, the arrangement is energetically more favored than the one.  相似文献

Simplified analogues of the potent antimitotic marine macrolide spongistatin 1/altohyrtin A were synthesised and evaluated as growth inhibitory agents against a range of human tumour cell lines, including Taxol-resistant strains, revealing that E-ring dehydration leads to enhanced cytotoxicity at the low picomolar level while truncation of the side-chain at C46 results in a drastic decrease in activity.  相似文献

All possible (eta(3)-allyl)palladium complexes (1-4) of the ligand (4S)-[2-(2'-diphenylphosphanyl)phenyl]-4,5-dihydro-4-(2-propyl)-oxazole (L 1) and eta(3)-allyl ligands with one to three phenyl substituents at the terminal allylic centers were synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystal structure analysis and, with respect to allylic isomers, by NMR investigations. Equilibrium geometries, electronic structures, and relative energies of isomeric complexes were computed by restricted Hartree-Fock (RHF) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations; experimentally determined isomer ratios could be reproduced. The results allowed important conclusions to be drawn regarding the mechanism of Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitutions.  相似文献

Summary The use of a recently proposed hydrophobic similarity index for the alignment of molecules and the prediction of their differences in biological activity is described. The hydrophobic similarity index exploits atomic contributions to the octanol/water transfer free energy, which are evaluated by means of the fractional partitioning scheme developed within the framework of the Miertus-Scrocco-Tomasi continuum model. Those contributions are used to define global and local measures of hydrophobic similarity. The suitability of this computational strategy is examined for two series of compounds (ACAT inhibitors and 5-HT3 receptor agonists), which are aligned to maximize the global hydrophobic similarity using a Monte Carlo-simulated protocol. Indeed, the concept of local hydrophobic similarity is used to explore structure–activity relationships in a series of COX-2 inhibitors. Inspection of the 3D distribution of hydrophobic/hydrophilic contributions in the aligned molecules is valuable to identify regions of very similar hydrophobicity, which can define pharmacophoric recognition patterns. Moreover, low similar regions permit to identify structural elements that modulate the differences in activity between molecules. Finally, the quantitative relationships found between the pharmacological activity and the hydrophobic similarity index points out that not only the global hydrophobicity, but its 3D distribution, is important to gain insight into the activity of molecules. The stereochemical course of the deamination of cis‐2,3‐dimethylaziridine by nitrosyl chloride was investigated at the QCISD/6‐31G(d) level. Calculations reveal that the reaction takes place in two steps. In the first step, the reactants form a pre‐reactive complex, followed by a spiro‐type bicyclic transition state, which on dissociative cycloelimination gives the N‐nitrosoaziridine intermediate. In the second step, this intermediate undergoes cycloreversion through a slightly asynchronous concerted transition state to form an alkene with the same stereochemistry, which is in total agreement with experiment. In the whole reaction, the denitrosation step is found to be rate‐determining. For comparison, geometry optimizations and energies were also obtained at the B3LYP/6‐31G(d) level. It was found that the B3LYP energy results differed significantly from the QCISD ones. To analyze the reason for this difference, B3LYP calculations were repeated by varying the contribution of exact exchange in the Becke functional. With respect to the QCISD results, it has been shown that the functional with 0% exact exchange yields the best activation barriers, whereas the functional with 30% exact exchange is the most suitable one to carry out the complexation and reaction energy calculations. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two 1,4‐diamine ligands were synthesized having 1,2‐bis(aminomethyl)‐cyclohexane and 1,2‐bis(aminomethyl)‐benzene structures. The two ligands have different electron density in the six‐membered ring: a cyclohexane versus a phenyl ring. The organic synthesis of the ligands was carried out by synthetic pathways of seven and four steps, respectively, starting from 1,2,3,6‐tetrahydrophthalic anhydride and diethyl phthalate. The coordination of platinum to these ligands afforded platinum(II) complexes which are analogue to the clinical drug cisplatin but form a seven‐membered chelate ring. The interaction of the platinum compounds with DNA was studied in order to know the relationship between the electron density of ligands and their capability to chelate DNA, by using three techniques: Circular Dichroism, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis and Atomic Force Microscopy. The degree of interaction of both compounds with DNA was slightly different, but both complexes showed a cisplatin‐like behaviour and are promising candidates to follow an extensive study of their cytotoxic activity.  相似文献

The use of a new class of graft polymer surfactants, based on inulin, in emulsion polymerization of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and polystyrene (PS) particles is described. PS and PMMA were synthesized by emulsion polymerization, and stable particles with a high monomer content (50 wt %) were obtained with a very small amount of polymeric surfactant ([surfactant]/[monomer] = 0.0033). The latex dispersions were characterized by dynamic light scattering and by transmission electron microscopy to obtain the average particle size and the polydispersity index, and the stability was determined by turbidimetry measurements and expressed in terms of critical coagulation concentration. The last section gives a comparison of PMMA particles prepared by emulsion polymerization using classical surfactants from different types as emulsifiers with that obtained using the copolymer surfactant. It shows the superiority of INUTEC SP1 as it is the only one that allows stable particles at 20 wt % monomer content, with a smaller ratio [surfactant]/[monomer] = 0.002.  相似文献

Reactions of [M(SR)(3)(PMe(2)Ph)(2)] (M = Ru, Os; R = C(6)F(4)H-4, C(6)F(5)) with CS(2) in acetone afford [Ru(S(2)CSR)(2)(PMe(2)Ph)(2)] (R = C(6)F(4)H-4, 1; C(6)F(5), 3) and trans-thiolates [Ru(SR)(2)(S(2)CSR)(PMe(2)Ph)(2)] (R = C(6)F(4)H-4, 2; C(6)F(5), 4) or the isomers trans-thiolates [Os(SR)(2)(S(2)CSR)(PMe(2)Ph)(2)] (R = C(6)F(4)H-4, 5; C(6)F(5), 7) and trans-thiolate-phosphine [Os(SR)(2)(S(2)CSR)(PMe(2)Ph)(2)] (R = C(6)F(4)H-4, 6; C(6)F(5), 8) through processes involving CS(2) insertion into M-SR bonds. The ruthenium(III) complexes [Ru(SR)(3)(PMe(2)Ph)(2)] react with CS(2) to give the diamagnetic thiolate-thioxanthato ruthenium(II) and the paramagnetic ruthenium(III) complexes while osmium(III) complexes [Os(SR)(3)(PMe(2)Ph)(2)] react to give the paramagnetic thiolate-thioxanthato osmium(III) isomers. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies of 1, 4, 5, and 8 show distorted octahedral structures. (31)P [(1)H] and (19)F NMR studies show that the solution structures of 1 and 3 are consistent with the solid-state structure of 1.  相似文献

Silica-supported trimetallic catalysts containing Pt, Sn and a group 13 metal (PtSnM, M=Ga, In, Tl) were prepared by consecutive impregnation steps from cis-[PtCl2(PPh3)2] and chloride precursors. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected-area electron diffraction (ED) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) showed large platelet-like particles of PtSn1−xMx phases. PtSnGa catalyst with a Pt/(Sn+Ga) molar ratio of 1.72 showed a bimodal particle distribution and a Pt phase was identified. Differences in surface structures were also revealed by the performance of catalysts in the dehydrogenation of n-hexane. For PtSnIn and PtSnTl (Pt/(Sn+M) molar ratio of about 1) the dehydrogenation was favoured. In contrast, PtSnGa catalyst yielded hydrogenolysis products. Photoelectron spectra showed the Pt 4f7/2 level at a binding energy of 70.0–71.8 eV in all cases. Moreover, the FT-IR spectra of chemisorbed CO on the PtSnGa showed a slight shift in the ν(CO) toward higher values with respect to the monometallic catalyst, pointing to an electronic effect in accordance with photoelectron spectroscopy.  相似文献
