This paper evaluates the chemical stability of four arsenosugars using tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH) as an extraction solvent. This solvent was chosen because of the near quantitative removal of these arsenicals from difficult to extract seafood (oysters and shellfish). Four arsenosugars (3-[5'-deoxy-5'-(dimethylarsinoyl)-beta-ribofuranosyloxy]-2-hydroxypropylene glycol--As(328), 3-5'-deoxy-5'-(dimethylarsinoyl)-beta-ribofuranosyloxy]-2-hydroxypropanesulfonic acid--As(392), 3-[5'-deoxy-5'-(dimethylarsinoyl)-beta-ribofuranosyloxy]-2-hydroxypropyl hydrogen sulfate--As(408), and 3-[5'-deoxy-5'-(dimethylarsinoyl)-beta-ribofuranosyloxy]-2-hydroxypropyl-2,3-hydroxypropyl phosphate--As(482)) were evaluated. The stability of these four arsenosugars were studied independently in a solution of 2.5% TMAOH at 60 degrees C over a period of up to 8 h. Two arsenosugars, As(328) and As(392), were found to be relatively stable in this solution for up to 8 h. However, As(408) and As(482) formed detectable quantities of dimethylarsinic acid (DMAA) and As(328) within 0.5 and 2 h, respectively. It was found that 97% of As(408) degrades after 8 h of treatment producing 3.4 times as much DMAA as As(328). This is contrary to As(482), which produces 13 times as much As(328) as DMAA and only 37% of the As(482) was converted by the 8 h treatment at 60 degrees C. These degradation products led to the investigation of weaker TMAOH extraction solvents. Three different concentrations (2.5%, 0.83% and 0.25%) were used to determine the effect of TMAOH concentration on the degradation rate of As(408). By reducing the TMAOH concentration to 0.83%, the conversion of the arsenosugar to As(328) and DMAA is nearly eliminated (less than 5% loss). Arsenosugars, As(408) and As(482), were also studied in 253 mM NaOH to verify the degradation products. The NaOH experiments were conducted to investigate a possible hydroxide based reaction mechanism. Similar degradation plots were found for each arsenosugar when compared to the 2.5% TMAOH data. A mechanism has been proposed for the formation of As(328) from As(408) and As(482) in base via an SN2 reaction (hydroxide attack) at the side chain carbon adjacent to the inorganic ester. The formation of DMAA is observed in all arsenosugars after prolonged exposure. This probably occurs via an SN2 attack at the arsenic atom.  相似文献

The influence of hydrolyzable metal ions (Mn(II) and Ca(II)) adsorption on the surface chemistry, particle interactions, flocculation, and dewatering behavior of kaolinite dispersions has been investigated at pH 7.5 and 10.5. Metal ion adsorption was strongly cation type- and pH-dependent and significantly influenced the zeta potential, anionic polyacrylamide-acrylate flocculant (PAM) adsorption, shear yield stress, settling rate, and consolidation of kaolinite slurries. The presence of Mn(II) and Ca(II) ions alone led to a systematic reduction in zeta potential due to specific adsorption of positively charged metal ion-based hydrolysis products at the kaolinite-water interface. Metal ion-mediated zeta potential changes were reflected by lower dispersion shear yield stresses and improved clarification (higher settling rates) but had no detectable effect on dispersion consolidation. The adsorption of PAM was significantly improved by prior addition of the metal ions. In the presence of Mn(II) or Ca(II) ions, the flocculant adsorption density was enhanced at pH 7.5 for Mn(II) and pH 10.5 for Ca(II). Optimum flocculation conditions, involving partial rather than complete particle surface coverage by both metal ions and flocculant, were identified. As a consequence, the metal ions and flocculant acted synergistically to enhance dewatering, producing particle interactions that were more conducive to high settling rates and greater consolidation of kaolinite dispersions at pH 7.5 than 10.5.  相似文献

Isolation of flavonoids from the aerial parts of Taverniera aegyptiaca Bioss. (Fabaceae) led to identification of one new flavonol glycoside, isorhamnetin-3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-l-arabinopyranoside (1), along with eleven compounds, which previously have not been isolated from this plant quercetin-3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-galactopyranoside] (2), isorhamnetin-3-O-α-l-arabinopyranoside (3), quercetin-3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (4), isorhamnetin-3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (7), isorhamnetin 3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-galactopyranoside] (8), isorhamnetin 3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside] (9), kaempferol 3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-galactopyranoside] (10), isorhamnetin (11), 4,4′-dihydroxy-2′-methoxychalcone (12), formononetin (13) and calycosin (15)] and some compounds already known from this plant [quercetin-3-O-robinobioside (5), isorhamnetin-3-O-robinobioside (6), afrormosin (14) and odoratin (16)].  相似文献

The tricyclic isatin, 5,6‐dihydro‐4H‐pyrrolo[3,2,1‐ij]quinoline‐1,2‐dione, undergoes three‐component, one‐pot reactions with 1‐aryl‐3‐methylpyrazole‐5‐amines and cyclohexane‐1,3‐diones producing hexacyclic spiro products, hexahydrospiro[pyrazolo[3,4‐b]quinoline‐4,1‐pyrrolo[3,2,1‐ij]quinoline‐2′,5(1H,4′H)‐diones]. Comparable spiro condensation products are also obtained using 4‐hydroxy‐2H‐1‐benzopyran‐2‐one in place of cyclohexane‐1,3‐diones.  相似文献

Rhodomyrtusials A–C, the first examples of triketone‐sesquiterpene meroterpenoids featuring a unique 6/5/5/9/4 fused pentacyclic ring system were isolated from Rhodomyrtus tomentosa, along with several biogenetically‐related dihydropyran isomers. Two bis‐furans and one dihydropyran isomer showed acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory activity. Structures of the isolates were unambiguously established by a combination of spectroscopic data, ECD analysis, and total synthesis. Bioinspired total syntheses of six isolates were achieved in six steps utilizing a reactive enetrione intermediate generated in situ from a readily available hydroxy‐endoperoxide precursor.  相似文献

An assessment of the data processing and analysis methods used to obtain the second- and fourth-rank orientational order parameters of liquid crystals from X-ray scattering experiments has been carried out, using experimental data from four extensively studied alkyl-cyanobiphenyls and calculated data generated from two general types of theoretical orientational distribution function. The application of a background subtraction and two different baseline correction methods to the scattering profiles is assessed, along with three different methods to analyse the processed data. The choice of baseline correction method is shown to have a significant effect: an offset to zero overestimates the order parameters from the experimental and calculated data sets, particularly for lower order parameters arising from broad distributions, whereas an offset to a value estimated from regions of low scattering intensity provides experimental values close to those reported from other experimental techniques. By contrast, the three different analysis methods are shown generally to result in relatively small absolute differences between the order parameters. We outline a straightforward general approach to experimental X-ray scattering data processing and analysis for uniaxial phases that results in order parameters that match well with those reported using other experimental techniques.  相似文献

The 2,5-diketopiperazine (DKP) moiety is a core feature of many natural products and medicinally relevant scaffolds. As part of our efforts directed towards a total synthesis of penicisulfuranol B, we have developed and report herein: (1) the preparation of an N-hydroxy diketopiperazine intermediate accessible via a molybdenum-mediated oxidation of a parent diketopiperazine, and (2) further synthetic studies leading to a novel spirocyclic dihydrobenzofuran-containing diketopiperazine.  相似文献

Conversion of CO2 into valuable molecules is a field of intensive investigation with the aim of developing scalable technologies for making fuels using renewable energy sources. While electrochemical reduction into CO and formate are approaching industrial maturity, a current challenge is obtaining more reduced products like methanol. However, literature on the matter is scarce, and even more for the use of molecular catalysts. Here, we demonstrate that cobalt phthalocyanine, a well‐known catalyst for the electrochemical conversion of CO2 to CO, can also catalyze the reaction from CO2 or CO to methanol in aqueous electrolytes at ambient conditions of temperature and pressure. The studies identify formaldehyde as a key intermediate and an unexpected pH effect on selectivity. This paves the way for establishing a sequential process where CO2 is first converted to CO which is subsequently used as a reactant to produce methanol. Under ideal conditions, the reaction shows a global Faradaic efficiency of 19.5 % and chemical selectivity of 7.5 %.  相似文献

The three secondary phosphine oxides [CH2=CH(CH2)4]2HPO ( 1 ), [CH2=CH(CH2)5]2HPO ( 2 ), and [CH2=CH(CH2)6]2HPO ( 3 ), and two diphosphine dioxides, {[CH2=CH(CH2)6]2PO(CH2)7}2 ( 4 ) and {[CH2=CH(CH2)6]2PO(CH2)4}2 ( 5 ), incorporating long methylene chains, are described. The single crystal X‐ray structures of 1 , 2 , and 5 have been determined. The phosphine oxides 3 , 4 , and 5 have been adsorbed on silica in submonolayer quantities to give 3 a – 5 a . The 1H, 13C, and 31P solid‐state NMR spectra of polycrystalline 3 – 5 have been analyzed and compared with those of 3 a – 5 a . The changes of the solid‐state NMR characteristics upon adsorption and the surface mobilities of the phosphine oxides are discussed.  相似文献
