Multipion production below 1.1 GeV by e+e− annihilation

The production of multipion events by e⁺e^? annihilation has been measured at centre of mass energies 915,990 and 1076 MeV. Both channels e⁺e^?→π⁺π^?π^o and e⁺e^?→π⁺π^?π⁺π^? have been analysed. An energy threshold effect analysed. An energy threshold effect around 919 MeV (m_ω + m_π^o) has been evidenced for the π⁺π^?π^oπ^o channel and the cross section is consistent with the quasi two-body process e⁺e^?→ωπ^o. The cross section for π⁺π^?π⁺π^? is lower by an order of magnitude and increases with the energy.     

Etude Conformationnelle par Résonance Magnétique Nucléaire Protonique des Dérivés de la O-Isopropylidène-2′,3′ Adénosine

Conformational analysis using ¹H n.m.r. data (δ, ³J and NOE) has been carried out on several derivatives of 2′,3′,-O-isopropylideneadenosine bearing various substituents at positions C-5′, C-8 and N-6. Conformational modifications are assigned to specific interactions between the sugar and purine moieties and also to solvent effects.

NMR line-shape analysis and modes of rearrangements

It was found that the use of conventional Slater type overlap, resonance and kinetic integrals are not compatible with the use of Differential Overlap approximations (DOA). We propose a new set of basis functions, Spherical Orbitals, (SO's) that relieve some of the shortcomings generated by the use of DOA's. The general topology of the SO's is presented along with formulae to be used to solve the inherent integrals.     

Silver ionic conductivity enhancement by network former mixed in oxide-based glasses

Glasses in the binary system xAg₂P₂O₆ − (1 − x)Ag₂Te₂O₅ have been prepared for 0 x 1. For each composition only one glass transition temperature is observed in the temperature range of 180–220 °C. All glasses appear homogeneous considering their optical and electrical properties. Nevertheless, in SEM observations, some glass compositions appear to be heterogeneous after decoration following short nitric acid etching. For each composition, conductivity data obtained in the temperature range of 25–200 °C using impedance techniques obey an Arrhenius relationship with a composition independent pre-exponential term. Variation of the conductivity activation energy with x induces correlative variations of isothermal conductivity curves leading to an increase of the ionic conductivity of about one order of magnitude compared with linearity at 25 °C. This behaviour is discussed with respect to the thermodynamic properties of the glassy solutions.
