Classical thermogravimetry and its modification with Knudsen cells were employed to quantitatively investigate the osmo-dehydration of apple pulp samples. The data allowed realization of the complex mechanism of the process, which is not a mere solvent depletion, since it also implies sugar exchanges between the apple tissue and the hypertonic syrup used to dehydrate the fruit. The comparison between different hypertonic syrups, all at the same water activity, showed that maltose is more effective than either sucrose or a mixture of sugars that mimics the saccharide content of the apple. The conclusions are supported by a thermodynamic analysis of the aqueous solutions of these sugars at a concentration level as large as that of the hypertonic syrups used for the osmo-dehydration process. 相似文献

High resolution Raman spectra of ice Ih single crystal in the frequency range 0–30 cm?1 are reported, at various temperatures. For the first time evidence is given for the existence of a Lorentzian central component in all scattering configurations. A polarization analysis of the spectra clearly shows that the central mode cannot be ascribed to the high frequency tails of the Brillouin doublet, nor to the disorder induced phonon background even accounting for renormalization of the phonon propagator. The epectral features indicate the existence of a direct coupling between the light and some relaxation mechanism of the crystal.A model is suggested to account for the excess scattering and for the activation of the acoustic phonon density of states. 相似文献

Two excited superdeformed bands have been found in196Pb using the GASP-ray spectrometer array. They are signature-partner bands with a small signature splitting developing at higher frequencies, similar to bands 2 and 3 in the isotone194Hg. The bands are probably built on an excited neutron configuration. They show an unusual incremental alignment of 1/2 with respect to the194Pb core.Communicated by: B. Herskind 相似文献

Scientific studies of consciousness rely on objects whose existence is assumed to be independent of any consciousness. On the contrary, we assume consciousness to be fundamental, and that one of the main features of consciousness is characterized as being other-dependent. We set up a framework which naturally subsumes this feature by defining a compact closed category where morphisms represent conscious processes. These morphisms are a composition of a set of generators, each being specified by their relations with other generators, and therefore co-dependent. The framework is general enough and fits well into a compositional model of consciousness. Interestingly, we also show how our proposal may become a step towards avoiding the hard problem of consciousness, and thereby address the combination problem of conscious experiences. 相似文献
