The temperature dependence of the in-plane magnetic penetration depth, lambda(ab)(T), has been measured in a c-axis oriented polycrystalline CaC(6) bulk sample using a high-resolution mutual inductance technique. A clear exponential behavior of lambda(ab)(T) has been observed at low temperatures, strongly suggesting isotropic s-wave pairing. Data fit using the standard BCS theory yields lambda(ab)(0) = (720 +/- 80) A and delta(0) = (1.79 +/- 0.08) meV. The ratio 2delta(0)/k(B)T(c) = (3.6 +/- 0.2) gives indication for a weakly coupled superconductor.  相似文献

We present the first observation of the baryon decay Lambda b0-->Lambda c+pi- followed by Lambda c+-->pK-pi+ in 106 pb-1 pp collisions at square root s=1.96 TeV in the CDF experiment. In order to reduce systematic error, the measured rate for Lambda b0 decay is normalized to the kinematically similar meson decay B0-->D+pi- followed by D+-->pi+K-pi+. We report the ratio of production cross sections (sigma) times the ratio of branching fractions (B) for the momentum region integrated above pT>6 GeV/c and pseudorapidity range |eta|<1.3: sigma(pp-->Lambda b0X)/sigma(pp-->B0X)xB(Lambda b0-->Lambda c+pi-)/B(B0-->D+pi-)=0.82+/-0.08(stat)+/-0.11(syst)+/-0.22[B(Lambda c+-->pK-pi+)].  相似文献

We report the heterodyne detection and phase locking of a 2.5?THz quantum cascade laser (QCL) using a terahertz frequency comb generated in a GaAs photomixer using a femtosecond fiber laser. With 10?mW emitted by the QCL, the phase-locked signal at the intermediate frequency yields 80?dB of signal-to-noise ratio in a bandwidth of 1?Hz.  相似文献

Hopping conduction in transistors, i.e., under a transverse electric field, is addressed using percolation theory with a space-energy correlation in the density of states of the impurity band. The computation of the percolation threshold over an extended range of correlation parameters enables us to derive a formula, which, while giving the classical results in the low field limit, describes the emergence of a specific variable range hopping in the high field case. An application of this formula to experimentally extract the localization radius is also proposed.  相似文献

We report an upper limit on the fraction of V+A current, fV+A, in top-quark decays, using approximately 700 pb-1 of pp[over ] collisions at sqrts=1.96 TeV acquired by the upgraded Collider Detector at Fermilab. For the decay t-->Wb-->lnub (where l=e or micro), the invariant mass of the charged lepton and the bottom quark jet is sensitive to the polarization of the W boson. We determine fV+A=-0.06+/-0.25 given a top-quark mass of 175 GeV/c2. We set an upper limit on fV+A of 0.29 at the 95% confidence level, an improvement by a factor of 2 on the previous best direct limit.  相似文献

The members of the CuMo1-xWxO4 series (0alpha transition can occur between 260 and 360 K, and the alpha-->gamma transition between 175 and 275 K as a function of x. The control of the alpha/gamma transition temperatures with x is related to the larger propensity of tungsten compared to molybdenum, to adopt a tetrahedral environment.  相似文献

The dynamic structure factor S(Q,omega) of the refractory oxide melts MgAl2O4 and MgAl4O7 is studied by inelastic x-ray scattering with aerodynamic levitation and laser heating. This technique allows the authors to measure simultaneously the elastic response and transport properties of melts under extreme temperatures. Over the wave vector Q range of 1-8 nm-1 the data can be fitted with a generalized hydrodynamic model that incorporates a slow component described by a single relaxation time and an effectively instantaneous fast component. Their study provides estimates of high-frequency sound velocities and viscosities of the Mg-Al-O melts. In contrast to liquid metals, the dispersion of the high-frequency sound mode is found to be linear, and the generalized viscosity to be Q independent. Both experiment and simulation show a weak viscosity maximum around the MgAl4O7 composition.  相似文献

We report on the use of magnetic sedimentation as a means to determine the size distribution of dispersed magnetic particles. The particles investigated here are (i) single anionic and cationic nanoparticles of diameter D approximately 7 nm and (ii) nanoparticle clusters resulting from electrostatic complexation with polyelectrolytes and polyelectrolyte-neutral copolymers. A theoretical expression of the sedimentation concentration profiles at the steady state is proposed, and it is found to accurately describe the experimental data. When compared to dynamic light scattering, vibrating sample magnetometry, and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy, magnetic sedimentation exhibits a unique property: it provides the core size and core size distribution of nanoparticle aggregates.  相似文献
