High-spin states in the 96Tc nucleus

High-spin states in the ⁹⁶Tc nucleus have been studied with the reactions ⁸²Se(¹⁹F,5nγ) at 68 MeV and Zn(³⁶S,αpxn) at 130 MeV. Two γ-ray cascades (irregular bandlike structures) have been observed up to an excitation energy of about 10 MeV and spin 21-22?. Received: 19 January 2001 / Accepted: 30 March 2001     

Cold valleys of superheavy elements with deformed targets and projectiles

The dependence of the cold driving potential on the deformation of the incoming target and projectile is investigated in the case of the synthesis of the superheavy nuclei ²⁵⁶No, ²⁸⁶112, ²⁹²114, ²⁹⁶116, and ³⁰⁶122. The occurrence of valleys in the driving potential as a function on the interfragment distance and the mass asymmetry is studied for different fixed orientations of the colliding nuclei such as the pole-pole, pole-equator, equator-equator, and equator-equator-crossed and compared to the case when the nuclei are assumed to be spherical or when the potential is averaged over the orientation.

HIAF-BRing快脉冲二极磁铁磁场测量系统

介绍了强流重离子加速器装置HIAF(High Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility)项目增强器BRing(Booster Ring)快脉冲二极磁铁的性能指标、测量要求和测量方法,描述了快脉冲二极磁铁稳态磁场测量系统及动态磁场测量系统的构成。在稳态磁场测量中,为提高积分磁场测量精度和测量效率,长线圈测量系统采用了on fly技术;在动态磁场测量中,研制了用于磁场延迟及磁场畸变测量的矩阵线圈。通过样机磁铁的测量,完成了测量系统的性能指标验证和磁铁的稳态磁场测量。实测结果表明,样机磁铁的设计和制造均达到了预期指标,并依据测量数据完成了磁铁的二次削斜。     

维数连续可变康托尔集分层介质中波的反射透射特性

本文研究了波通过一类可连续控制分维的广义Cantor集合介质层的反射透射频谱特性。利用自相似性,给出了任意分维情况的一般计算方法,从而使我们能研究反射透射频谱随分维的变化特点,并认识到,在一般分维下,谱具有广义自相似性和“混沌”周期性,这是一种新的物理现象,必定蕴藏着一定的实用价值。     

Multi‐crystalline silicon solar cells with metal‐assisted nano‐texturing using HNO3 as hole injection agent

In this study, metal‐assisted etching (MAE) with nitric acid (HNO₃) as a hole injecting agent has been employed to texture multi‐crystalline silicon wafers. It was previously proven that addition of HNO₃ enabled control of surface texturing so as to form nano‐cone shaped structures rather than nanowires. The process parameters optimized for optically efficient texturing have been applied to multi‐crystalline wafers. Fabrication of p‐type Al:BSF cells have been carried out on textured samples with thermal SiO₂/PECVD‐SiN_x stack passivation and screen printed metallization. Firing process has been optimized in order to obtain the best contact formation. Finally, j_sc enhancement of 0.9 mA/cm² and 0.6% absolute increase in the efficiency have been achieved. This proves that the optimized MAE texture process can be successfully used in multi‐crystalline wafer texturing with standard passivation methods.

J –V curves and SEM images of the nano and iso‐textured samples. j_sc enhancement of 0.9 mA/cm² together with 0.6% absolute efficiency gain was observed on nano‐textured samples.     

Non-gravitating scalars and spacetime compactification

We discuss role of partially gravitating scalar fields, scalar fields whose energy–momentum tensors vanish for a subset of dimensions, in dynamical compactification of a given set of dimensions. We show that the resulting spacetime exhibits a factorizable geometry consisting of usual four-dimensional spacetime with full Poincaré invariance times a manifold of extra dimensions whose size and shape are determined by the scalar field dynamics. Depending on the strength of its coupling to the curvature scalar, the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the scalar field may or may not vanish. When its VEV is zero the higher-dimensional spacetime is completely flat and there is no compactification effect at all. On the other hand, when its VEV is nonzero the extra dimensions get spontaneously compactified. The compactification process is such that a bulk cosmological constant is utilized for curving the extra dimensions.     

FT-IR,FT-Raman spectra and quantum mechanical study of piperidine-3-carboxylic acid and its tautomers,isomers

The mid-IR, far-IR, and Raman spectra of piperidine-3-carboxylic acid were measured and interpreted with support of the MP2 and B3LYP/6-311++G(d, p) calculated harmonic vibrational spectra. 10 stable piperidine-3-carboxylic acid tautomers/isomers were found after B3LYP, calculations. The experimental absorption bands of carboxylate (COO^?) group show that the free piperidine-3-carboxylic acid molecule exists in zwitterionic form and the most stable tautomer (NAT-1) can be stabilized by an intramolecular N-H...O hydrogen bond. All vibrational frequencies of NAT-1 assigned in detail with the help of total energy distribution (TED). The experimental vibrational wave numbers were compared with the calculated data.     

Simulating listener errors in using genetic algorithms for perceptual optimization

The genetic algorithm (GA) was previously suggested for fitting hearing aid or cochlear implant features by using listener's subjective judgment. In the present study, two human factors that might affect the outcome of the GA when used for perceptual optimization were explored with simulations. Listeners with varying sensitivity in discriminating sentences of different intelligibility and with varying error rates in entering their judgment to the GA were simulated. A comparison of the simulation results with the results from human subjects reported by Ba?kent et al. Ear Hear. 28(3) 277-289 (2007) showed that these factors could reduce the performance of the GA considerably.
