Fluorescence spectroscopy applied to orange trees   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In this work, we have applied laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy to investigate biological processes in orange trees (Citrus aurantium L.). We have chosen to investigate water stress and Citrus Canker, which is a disease caused by the Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri bacteria. The fluorescence spectroscopy was investigated by using as an excitation source a 442-nm 15-mW HeCd gas multimode discharge laser and a 532-nm 10-mW Nd3+:YAG laser. The stress manifestation was detected by the variation of fluorescence ratios of the leaves at different wavelengths. The fluorescence ratios present a significant variation, showing the possibility to observe water stress by fluorescence spectrum. The Citrus Canker’s contaminated leaves were discriminated from the healthy leaves using a more complex analysis of the fluorescence spectra. However, we were unable to discriminate it from another disease, and new fluorescence experiments are planned for the future.  相似文献

In this work, neutron activation analysis was applied to analyze the geological standard materials: GSP-1 and W-1 from USGS, GB-1 and BB-1 from the University of Bahia, Brazil and a sample of uraniferous rock. Hf was determined by instrumental method and the obtained results was shown with relative standard deviations varying from 1.1 to 14%. In the case of Zr analyses, both instrumental and radiochemical neutron activation analyses were used. The interference of154Eu radioisotope that emits -rays too close to those emitted by95Zr was eliminated by retention of Zr in an anionic exchange resin column. The contribution of uranium fission product was considered in the Zr determination by using an interference factor. Results of Zr were presented with relative standard deviations varying from 2.0 to 25.7%. More precise results were obtained by using radiochemical separation. The concentration obtained for Hf and Zr in reference materials agreed well with respective certified values or information values.  相似文献

We have studied the behavior of the microstrip lines on lossy biaxial anisotropic dielectric substrates. A spectral-domain moment method is used with the Galerkin testing procedure to determine the dispersion characteristics of single and coupled lines. Modes of both even and odd symmetries are included. It is found that the anisotropy of the substrate has a significant influence on the propagation characteristics. The theory is verified by comparison with previously published data.  相似文献

The crystal structures and the magnetic properties of three new binary rare-earth intermetallic phases are reported. alpha-Sm3Ge5 and beta-Sm3Ge5 and Gd3Ge5 have been prepared from the corresponding elements through high-temperature reactions using the flux-growth method. The structures of the three compounds have been established using single-crystal X-ray diffraction: alpha-Sm3Ge5 crystallizes with its own type in the hexagonal space group P2c (No. 190) with cell parameters a = 6.9238(11) A, c = 8.491(3) A, and Z = 2, whereas beta-Sm3Ge5 adopts the face-centered orthorhombic Y3Ge5 type with space group Fdd2 (No. 43) and with cell parameters a = 5.8281(6) A, b = 17.476(2) A, c = 13.785(2) A, and Z = 8. The orthorhombic Gd3Ge5 with cell parameters a = 5.784(2) A, b = 17.355(6) A, and c = 13.785(5) A is isostructural with beta-Sm3Ge5. The structures of the title compounds can be described as AlB(2) and alpha-ThSi2 derivatives with long-range ordering of the germanium vacancies. Temperature-dependent DC magnetization (5-300 K) measurements show evidence of antiferromagnetic ordering below ca. 30 and 10 K for alpha-Sm3Ge5 and beta-Sm3Ge5, respectively. Gd3Ge5 undergoes two successive magnetic transitions below ca. 15 and 11 K. The temperature dependence of the resistivity and heat capacity of Gd3Ge5 are discussed as well.  相似文献

We give necessary and sufficient conditions for a nonexpansive map on a finite-dimensional normed space to have a nonempty, bounded set of fixed points. Among other results we show that if f: VV is a nonexpansive map on a finite-dimensional normed space V, then the fixed point set of f is nonempty and bounded if and only if there exist w1,..., w m in V such that {f(w i ) ? w i : i = 1,..., m} illuminates the unit ball. This yields a numerical procedure for detecting fixed points of nonexpansive maps on finite-dimensional spaces. We also discuss applications of this procedure to certain nonlinear eigenvalue problems arising in game theory and mathematical biology.  相似文献

Tilted peptides are known to insert in lipid bilayers with an oblique orientation, thereby destabilizing membranes and facilitating membrane fusion processes. Here, we report the first direct visualization of the interaction of tilted peptides with lipid membranes using in situ atomic force microscopy (AFM) imaging. Phase-separated supported dioleoylphosphatidylcholine/dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DOPC/DPPC) bilayers were prepared by fusion of small unilamellar vesicles and imaged in buffer solution, in the absence and in the presence of the simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) peptide. The SIV peptide was shown to induce the rapid appearance of nanometer scale bilayer holes within the DPPC gel domains, while keeping the domain shape unaltered. We attribute this behavior to a local weakening and destabilization of the DPPC domains due to the oblique insertion of the peptide molecules. These results were directly correlated with the fusogenic activity of the peptide as determined using fluorescently labeled DOPC/DPPC liposomes. By contrast, the nontilted ApoE peptide did not promote liposome fusion and did not induce bilayer holes but caused slight erosion of the DPPC domains. In conclusion, this work provides the first direct evidence for the production of stable, well-defined nanoholes in lipid bilayer domains by the SIV peptide, a behavior that we have shown to be specifically related to the tilted character of the peptide. A molecular mechanism underlying spontaneous insertion of the SIV peptide within lipid bilayers and the subsequent removal of bilayer patches is proposed, and its relevance to membrane fusion processes is discussed.  相似文献

LPSF/GQ-130 is a drug candidate, according to reports about its significant anti-inflammatory activity and non-toxicity demonstrated in an acute preclinical study. Despite this, knowledge of its physical–chemical properties is insufficient for the development of medicines. Thus, this work aimed to characterize the raw material at its molecular, particle, and agglomerate level as well as evaluate its thermal compatibility to pharmaceutical excipients. Through spectrometric techniques the molecular structure of the substance was confirmed. For thermal analysis its melting (171.3–176.5 °C) and degradation (238.3–297.4 °C) ranges, besides its purity (99.37 %), were determined. The kinetic non-isothermal degradation supplied the order of thermal reaction (0), the activation energy (96.14 kJ mol?1) and the frequency factor (3.130 × 10?7 min?1). The diffraction of X-rays presented well defined signs in the angles 5.5°, 16.3°, and 44.18° 2θ, suggesting crystalline structure. Scanning electronic microscopy exhibited needle morphology. LPSF/GQ-130 presented Type-III isotherm adsorption/desorption, with a superficial area of 81.3529 m2 g?1 and water content calculated at 1 % using the Karl Fisher method. Laser granulometry calculated its granulometry between 11.65 and 13.10 μm, thus it was characterized as a very fine powder. The prototype was classified as insoluble in water (<0.0187 μg mL?1) and soluble in acetone and acetonitrile, and exhibits instability in basic pH (100 %) and oxidative conditions (30–70 %). In thermal compatibility the excipients PVP K-30, Compritol® 888 ATO, and MYRJ® 59 seem to exercise a protective thermal activity for the prototype.  相似文献

The quantification of the impact of uncertainties may increase the reliability and robustness of parallel manipulators. Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) and interval analysis are among the most common techniques used in uncertainty quantification. Interval analysis provides guaranteed performance since the interval evaluation of a function always contains the exact result. Nevertheless, interval analysis estimations are very conservative, frequently yielding overestimated results. Conversely, Monte Carlo Simulation avoids overestimation, but does not provide guaranteed performance. This paper proposes a novel hybrid algorithm combining the best features of interval analysis and Monte Carlo simulation for estimating probabilities of failure in the positioning error of parallel manipulators. A 3RRR manipulator is employed as case-study. The hybrid approach provides information on the bounds (minimum and maximum values) and estimated values of failure probabilities. The simulations herein compare the hybrid approach with pure interval analysis and pure Monte Carlo simulation. The results reveal that the hybrid technique may estimate not only the probability of failure in a continuous region, but also the worst and best case probabilities, much faster than interval analysis based approaches.
