Three-dimensional size and orientation of the precipitates in AZ91 magnesium alloys measured by TEM techniques 下载免费PDF全文
Knowledge of the microscopic structure, including three-dimensional
(3-D) size and orientation of the precipitates, is essential to
fully understand the mechanical properties of the magnesium
alloys and designing the alloys with better performance. Analytical
TEM with high spatial resolution offers the simultaneous
measurements of 3-D size, structure, orientation, composition of the
precipitates from one typical sample along an established
crystallographic axis. Besides popular Burgers orientation
relationship (OR), other ORs such as Pitsch--Schrader OR, Crawley
OR, Potter OR and a new OR with the form of [0001]α
1.0° from [311]γ and (11\bar 20)α
2.0° from (03\bar 3)γ between the magnesium
matrix and the precipitate γ -Mg17Al12 are
identified by TEM imaging and diffraction techniques. As a case study,
the thicknesses of the individual precipitates with Burgers OR are
further measured to be 100--200~nm through both electron energy-loss
spectroscopy and x-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy combining
differential x-ray absorption and extrapolation, which are in
agreement with the overall 3-D size statistic distribution results
obtained through analysing various samples along various directions.
Furthermore, the fabricated wedge-shape structure provides a
platform on which to study the dependence of the interfacial strain on the

Periodical forcing is used to control the spiral wave and turbulence in the modified Fithzhugh-Nagumo equation (MFHNe) when
excitability is changed. The decisive parameter ε of (MFHNe), which describes the ratio of time scales of the fast activator u and the slow inhibitor variable v, is supposed to increase linearly to simulate the excitability modulation in the media. In the numerical simulation, a local
periodical stimulus is imposed on the left border of the media and the periods of external forcing are adjusted according
to the approximate formula ω

1/3 so that using the most appropriate frequency for the external forcing can approach a shorter transient period. It is found
that the spiral wave and turbulence can be removed successfully by using an appropriate periodical forcing on the left border

In this investigation, three-class classification models of aqueous solubility (logS) and lipophilicity (logP) have been developed
by using a support vector machine (SVM) method combined with a genetic algorithm (GA) for feature selection and a conjugate
gradient method (CG) for parameter optimization. A 5-fold cross-validation and an independent test set method were used to
evaluate the SVM classification models. For logS, the overall prediction accuracy is 87.1% for training set and 90.0% for
test set. For logP, the overall prediction accuracy is 81.0% for training set and 82.0% for test set. In general, for both
logS and logP, the prediction accuracies of three-class models are slightly lower by several percent than those of two-class
models. A comparison between the performance of GA–CG–SVM models and that of GA–SVM models shows that the SVM parameter optimization
has a significant impact on the quality of SVM classification model.

A new method based on the polarization interferometer structure has been applied to measure the optical admittance, the refractive
index and thickness of a thin film. The structure is a vibration insensitive optical system. There is one Twyman-Green interferometer
part to induce a phase difference and one Fizeau interferometer part to induce the interference in the system. The intensities
coming from four different polarizers were measured at the same time to prevent mechanical vibration influence. Using the
polarization interferometer, the optical admittance, the refractive index and thickness of a single layer of Ta2O5 thin film has been measured. The measurement results were compared with the results obtained by ellipsometer. The results

Commercial WO3 powder was annealed in air at four different temperatures and characterized by XRD and BET. The samples were used for the photooxidation of H2O to O2 under visible light irradiation (λ > 420 nm) in the presence of IO3− and the evolved gases were analyzed by gas chromatography. The results showed that the WO3 photocatalyst of monoclinic phase, which was obtained by annealing at 750 °C for 4 h, displayed the best activity in terms of O2 evolution among all the samples. We have studied the electron transport properties of a disordered graphene sample, where the disorder was intentionally strengthened
by Ga+ ion irradiation. The magneto-conductance of the sample exhibits a typical two-dimensional electron weak localization behavior,
with electron-electron interaction as the dominant dephasing mechanism. The absence of electron anti-weak localization in
the sample implies strong intersublattice and/or intervalley scattering caused by the disorders. The temperature and bias-voltage
dependencies of conductance clearly reveal the suppression of conductance at low energies, indicating opening of a Coulomb
gap due to electron-electron interaction in the disordered graphene sample.
