A new polymeric chromogenic reagent PA.FPNS has been synthesized by condensing polyallylamine (PA) with 3-(4-formylphenylazo)-4,5-dihydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid (FPNS) and its properties studied. In alkaline media, PA.FPNS reacts with magnesium to form a water-soluble blue complex, whose absorption maximum is at 604 nm. The molar absorptivity (varepsilon) of the complex is 5.2 x 10(4)l mol(-1) cm(-1), which is four times that of the FPNS-Mg complex, and Beer's law is obeyed over the range 0-0.35 mug ml(-1) magnesium. Compared to the corresponding low-molecular-weight FPNS and other chromogenic reagents, PA.FPNS offers considerably improved sensitivity and selectivity for magnesium, which may be attributed to incorporating FPNS into a water-soluble polymer and the effect of the polymeric chain on the reaction microenvironment. Also, a simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of magnesium has been developed and applied to water and human fluid samples with satisfactory results. 相似文献

Long-range organization of molecular tilt azimuth is a striking feature in monolayers at the air-water interface. We show that the boojum and stripe textures of pentadecanoic acid (PDA) with the continuous variations of molecular tilt azimuth formed at the air-water interface at temperatures lower than room temperature can be preserved after being transferred to glass substrates at low dipping speeds. The long-range tilt order in the transferred boojums and stripes is resolved by frictional force microscopy at room temperature, suggesting that the tilt order is "frozen" through the interaction of PDA molecules with the glass surface. The transferred stripe structure can be used as a unique alignment layer to induce a continuously azimuthal orientation of nematic liquid crystals. 相似文献

A method was developed for the simultaneous identification of astragalosides (AGs) and isoflavonoids (IFs) in the roots of Astragalus membranaceus and Astragalus mongholicus by HPLC coupled with atmospheric pressure chemical ionization MS/MS (HPLC-APCI-MS/MS). Diagnostic fragment ions of AGs and different group of IFs were obtained with one AG and eight IF standards analyzed by CID-MS, which were adopted as characteristic MS/MS fingerprints for further identification of these compounds in the two Astragalus species by using HPLC-APCI-MS/MS. A total of 20 IFs and 10 AGs were identified or tentatively identified. Among them, six IFs were detected in A. membranaceus for the first time and five IFs were firstly identified in A. mongholicus. The results indicate that HPLC-APCI-MS/MS is a powerful tool for the simultaneous characterization of IFs and AGs in complex matrix. 相似文献

A new thiol weak-fluorescence probe, 5-maleimidyl-2-(m-methylphenyl)benzoxazole (MMPB), gives a highly fluorescence product in the presence of Cys. In this paper, MMPB has been developed for the fluorimetric determination of cysteine (Cys). At lambda(ex)/lambda(em) = 305.6/425.6 nm, the linear range is from 0 to 3.3 x 10(-7) mol l(-1) and the detection limit (sigma = 3) of 6.2 x 10(-10) mol l(-1). The main advantage of this method lies in the relative high selectivity compared with the methods using other N-substituted maleimide type of thiol reagents, in which 0.15-fold (molar ratio) of GSH is allowed and most of other amino acids at 100-fold (molar ratio) level had no obvious effect on the results. The paper presents the formalism, implementation, and performance of the analytical approach for the excited-state Hessian in the time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) that extends our previous work [J. Liu and W. Z. Liang, J. Chem. Phys. 135, 014113 (2011)] on the analytical Hessian in TDDFT within Tamm-Dancoff approximation (TDA) to full TDDFT. In contrast to TDA-TDDFT, an appreciable advantage of full TDDFT is that it maintains the oscillator strength sum rule, and therefore yields more precise results for the oscillator strength and other related physical quantities. For the excited-state harmonic vibrational frequency calculation, however, full TDDFT does not seem to be advantageous since the numerical tests demonstrate that the accuracy of TDDFT with and without TDA are comparable to each other. As a common practice, the computed harmonic vibrational frequencies are scaled by a suitable scale factor to yield good agreement with the experimental fundamental frequencies. Here we apply both the optimized ground-state and excited-state scale factors to scale the calculated excited-state harmonic frequencies and find that the scaling decreases the root-mean-square errors. The optimized scale factors derived from the excited-state calculations are slightly smaller than those from the ground-state calculations. 相似文献

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been carried out in order to compare the molecular structures, atomic charges, molecular orbitals, electronic absorption spectra, and infrared (IR) spectra of the metal-free 5,15 -di[4-(5-acetylsulfanylpentyloxy) phenyl]porphyrin H2[DPP(OC5H10SCOCH3)2] (1) (DPP = 5,15-diphenylporphyrin) and its zinc complex Zn[DPP(OC5H10SCOCH3)2] (2), which exhibit novel structures with two 5-acetylsulfanylpentyloxy side chains at the para-positions of opposite meso-attached phenyl groups. The calculated molecular structure and electronic absorption and IR spectra of 1 and 2 are consistent with the experimental results. The influences of meso-substitution, polar solvents, and central metal substitution on the structure and properties of porphyrin derivatives have been investigated by comparing the corresponding data for 1 and 2 with the help of data for the unsubstituted porphyrin derivatives, namely the metal-free porphyrin H2Por (3) and the porphyrinato-zinc compound (4). The identities of the main transitions in the electronic absorption spectra of 1 and 2 are assigned and the vibrational modes in their IR spectra are identified with the assistance of animated pictures produced based on normal coordinates. The theoretical work presented here will be helpful in increasing our understanding of the structure and spectroscopic properties, as well as substituent and solvent effects, for these novel porphyrin compounds. 相似文献
