LC–ESI–MS Determination of 20 Free Amino Acids in Tibetan Medicine Gentiana dahurica with Pre-Column Fluorescence Derivatization

Concentrations of 20 free amino aicds (FAAs) in a famous Tibetan medicine Gentiana dahurica was first investigated using 1,2-benzo-3,4-dihydrocarbazole-9-ethyl chloroformate (BCEOC) as the pre-column fluorescence derivatization reagent by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-LC). 20 amino acid derivatives (AAD) were separated on a Hypersil BDS C₁₈ column with a good baseline resolution within 65 min. Identification of 20 AAD was by online post-column mass spectrometry with an electrospray ionization (ESI) source. The validation of the method was examined by linearity, repeatability, and detection limits. Most linear correlation coefficients for AAD were >0.9990, and detection limits (at signal-to-noise of 3:1) were 6.5–178.2 fmol. There were 18 FAAs found in G. dahurica, of which seven FAAs were necessary to the people’s health and related to the treatment of liver and gall disease. Variation of concentrations of the 20 FAAs showed geographical distribution difference among populations. Meanwhile a stable genetic diversity of FAAs composition of G. dahurica was also revealed at the species level. Results of the present study proved that the established method was rapid and reproducible for further separation and determination of FAAs in more medicinal plants.

     

Numerical simulations of viscous flows using a meshless method

This paper uses the element‐free Galerkin (EFG) method to simulate 2D, viscous, incompressible flows. The control equations are discretized with the standard Galerkin method in space and a fractional step finite element scheme in time. Regular background cells are used for the quadrature. Several classical fluid mechanics problems were analyzed including flow in a pipe, flow past a step and flow in a driven cavity. The flow field computed with the EFG method compared well with those calculated using the finite element method (FEM) and finite difference method. The simulations show that although EFG is more expensive computationally than FEM, it is capable of dealing with cases where the nodes are poorly distributed or even overlap with each other; hence, it may be used to resolve remeshing problems in direct numerical simulations. Flows around a cylinder for different Reynolds numbers are also simulated to study the flow patterns for various conditions and the drag and lift forces exerted by the fluid on the cylinder. These forces are calculated by integrating the pressure and shear forces over the cylinder surface. The results show how the drag and lift forces oscillate for high Reynolds numbers. Synthesis and antitumor activity of 9-methyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin

A novel camptothecin analogue, 9-methyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin （4）, was unexpectedly synthesized from 10-hydroxycamptothecin in two steps. The key step included an efficient Mannich-type reaction. The overall yield was 47.2%. An ether analogue of 4, 9-methyl-10-benzylaminomethoxycamptothecin （5）, was also prepared. These new camptothecin analogues were evaluated for in vitro cytotoxicity against four human cancer cell lines, and exhibited more potent antitumor activities than contrals camptothecin and topotecan against several cancer cells.     

气相色谱-质谱法分析橡苔浸膏中的挥发性化学成分

用挥发油提取器提取橡苔浸膏中的挥发油 ,利用气相色谱 -质谱法 ( GC- MS)分析了其中的化学成分 ,采用GC峰面积归一化法定量 ,鉴定出 2 4种化合物 ,共占挥发油总量的 83%以上     

Syntheses,crystal structures and spectroscopic properties of the novel complexes [M(MOBPT)*2 (H2O)2](ClO4)2 · 4H2O (M = CoII and NiII)

The novel cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes with 4-(p-methoxyphenyl)-3,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole (MOBPT) have been synthesized and their molecular structures determined by X-ray analysis, i.r. and by ESI-MS spectroscopy. The metal atom is in a distorted octahedral environment. Two bidentate chelating ligands (MOBPT) coordinate to the metal center equatorially and two water molecules coordinate axially. Each MOBPT entity coordinates via one triazole nitrogen and one pyridine nitrogen atom. Magnetic measurements show that the complexes are high-spin species in the 75–300 K range.     

百叶窗浓缩器气固两相流动的试验研究

本文在以往试验基础上对百叶窗浓缩器进行了更加深入的试验研究，分析了百叶窗结构、气流等因素对浓缩器性能，即浓淡风比、阻力系数、浓缩率三个参数的影响，从而得到了优化的百叶窗结构。     

Secondary Metabolites from the Fungus Chaetomium brasiliense

Two new depsidones, mollicellins I and J ( 1 and 2 , resp.), and a new chromone, 2‐(hydroxymethyl)‐6‐methylmethyleugenin ( 3 ), along with six known compounds, 4 – 9 , were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of a solid‐state fermented culture of Chaetomium brasiliense. Their structures were elucidated based on spectroscopic analysis. Mollicellins I and H ( 5 ) exhibited significant growth inhibitory activity against human breast cancer (Bre04), human lung (Lu04), and human neuroma (N04) cell lines with GI₅₀ values between 2.5–8.6 μg/ml.
