We investigate a flexibly tunable multiwavelength semiconductor-optical-amplifier-based fiber ring laser with continuous wavelength spacing controllability incorporating a superimposed chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG). The wavelength spacing of a superimposed CFBG can be continuously controlled by symmetrically modifying the chirp bandwidth of the grating with the specially designed apparatus. We achieve a wide and continuous tuning range of the wavelength spacing from 0.35 to 0.78 nm. The continuous tunability of the wavelength spacing is measured to be ~ +/-0.033 nm/mm. By controlling the reflection bandwidth of the tunable CFBG, we can independently adjust the number of lasing channels from 2 to 23 at the wavelength spacing of 0.51 nm.  相似文献

In order to obtain OH concentration measurements in atmospheric pressure flames from saturated fluorescence signal, we have developed a stationary four-level model. A general relationship between the measured upper state population and the total number density has been derived. The effects of the imbalance between the rotational transfer rates in the upper and ground states is analyzed. We show that in the case of comparable rotational rates, the results of our treatment are similar to the ones obtained with the balanced cross rate model. A set of complementary data which should facilitate absolute OH concentration measurements is also pointed out.  相似文献

A numerical method for calculating cutoff frequencies of modes of weakly guiding optical fibers is described. Starting from a properly constructed field representation, the method follows a variational approach to obtain an eigenvalue problem for the cutoff frequencies which can be easily solved by a standard numerical routine. The field representation uses an expansion in terms of the Laguerre–Gauss functions in the fiber core and limiting form for small arguments of modified Bessel functions in the fiber cladding. Fibers with power-law refractive index profiles and fibers with a profile showing a dip on the axis are analyzed. Results obtained for modes of arbitrary order (both azimuthal and radial) show that our method is very efficient and accurate.  相似文献

We study the long term stability of the proper rotations of the perturbed Euler rigid body, in the framework of Nekhoroshev theory. For simplicity we treat here in detail only the kinetically symmetric case (the potential needs not to be symmetric), but we indicate how to extend the results to the triaxial case. We show that the proper rotations around the symmetry axis are Nekhoroshev stable: more precisely, if the initial datum is sufficiently close to a proper rotation, then for a very long time it remains such, and the tip of the unit vector parallel to the angular momentum precesses, up to a small noise, along the level curves of a regular function on the unit sphere. If the proper rotations are resonant, chaotic motions with positive Lyapunov exponents are possible, but chaos (unlike the case of ordinary motions, that is motions not close to proper rotations) is always localized, and does not affect in an essential way the motion of the angular momentum in space. Preliminary numerical results indicate that the theory is, in many aspects, optimal, although in some points it can still be improved.  相似文献

We address an inverse scattering problem using only amplitude information of the scattered field. In particular, we are concerned with the reconstruction of the shape of a metallic planar obstacle, located in a known plane (aperture plane), starting from the knowledge of the intensity of the scattered field over two measurement planes in near zone and parallel to the aperture plane, when a single-frequency incident plane wave is exploited. The formulation of the inverse scattering problem is given under the physical optics approximation, and thus the resulting phase retrieval problem is quadratic. This allows us to apply some phase retrieval techniques already developed for antenna diagnostics. Reconstruction results with synthetic data indicate the feasibility of the proposed approach.  相似文献

We investigate how models for neutrino–nucleus cross sections based on different assumptions for the nuclear dynamics affect the forecasted sensitivities to neutrino oscillation parameters at future neutrino facilities. We limit ourselves to the quasi-elastic regime, where the neutrino cross sections can be evaluated with less uncertainties, and discuss the sensitivity reach to θ13θ13 and δ at a prototype low-γ β-beam, mostly sensitive to the quasi-elastic regime.  相似文献

The nonanuclear coordination compound [MoIV{(CN)FeIII(3-methyl-saldptn)}8]Cl4 exhibits multiple spin transitions (3-methyl-saldptn = N,N′-bis(3′′-methyl-2′′-hydroxy-benzyliden)-1,7-diamino-4-azaheptane). This spin crossover cluster is bound via a self-assembled monolayer onto a two dimensional array gold surface. M?ssbauer spectroscopy indicates that the thermally and optically induced spin crossover of the compound is maintained. Thereby, the foundation for its potential practical application (e.g. in the field of information storage) was laid.  相似文献
