Summary An intense fluorescence,5D7F, of the europium(III) ion was observed at room temperature in DMSO and DMF solutions of the europium(III) chelate with salicylidene-valinate Schiff base, as a result of an intramolecular energy-transfer from the ligand to the metal ion. The metal chelate has been characterized and appears to possess an octahedral configuration. These results offer an interesting opportunity to probe the active sites of pyridoxal enzymes.  相似文献

With the goal of obtaining a water soluble polymeric carrier for preparation of fixed facilitated transport membranes, a water soluble amino containing chitosan derivative was prepared through Michael-addition reaction between chitosan and ethyl acrylate followed by amidation of the ester groups with an appropriate diamine. This derivative was characterized using 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Then, facilitated transport membranes were prepared by casting a thin layer of chitosan derivative/poly(vinyl alcohol) blend on a porous polysolfune support; and the effect of fixed carrier’s content, feed temperature and feed pressure on the CO2 permeance, and CO2/CH4 selectivity of produced membranes were studied. A facilitated transport mechanism for CO2 through this membrane was concluded.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate oil-in-water emulsions in a Taylor-Couette flow. A high-speed camera was employed to record the formation of those emulsions, and image processing was used to obtain the diameter of the droplets. No surfactants were added in order to study the pure effect of the fluid dynamical forces on the droplets. The results for three different oil-in-water emulsions show that the Sauter mean diameter considerably depends on the local shear rate and the material properties and that the droplet size distribution follows a log-normal distribution. We, therefore, propose to express the Sauter mean diameter normalized by Prandtl mixing length in terms of a correlation, which is based on the Kolmogorov turbulence theory. This correlation subsequently depends on the local shear rate and the material properties such as viscosity, density, and interfacial tension. The predictions of the correlation show fairly good agreement with the experimental measurement the Sauter mean diameter. Finally, comparing the predictions of the correlation to the data presented by Eskin et al. [Chem. Eng. Sci. 161 36–47; 2017] shows excellent agreement in the case, where the droplets are larger than the Kolmogorov length scale.  相似文献

Dodecanoyl isothiocyanate 1 was utilized for the construction of thioureido, 2-thioxo-2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one, benzo[d]-1,3-thiazin-4(H)-one and 3-amino quinazolin-4(3H)-one derivatives 2, 3, 4, and 5 respectively. However, N′-(2-cyanoacetyl) dodecanehydrazide 6 was also used as a key starting material for the construction of a variety of new pyrazolone, pyrazole, thiadiazole, pyridazine, chromeno[2,3-c]pyrazole, and dithiolane derivatives 7, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 20, respectively. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analyses and spectral data (IR, 1H NMR, and mass spectra). Some of the newly synthesized compounds bearing heterocyclic moieties were tested for antioxidant activity as reflected in their ability to inhibit oxidation in rat brain and kidney homogenates using 2,2′-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) inhibition. Also, in vitro anticancer activity was examined using the standard (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) (MTT) method against a panel of two human tumor cell lines namely; hepatocellular carcinoma HepG2 and mammary gland breast cancer MCF-7. Compounds 12 and 16b exhibited the highest activities as antioxidant and antitumor agents. Meanwhile, compounds 7 and 20 showed moderate activities and the rest of the tested compounds showed weak activities.  相似文献

The correlation between the mechanical strength and the crystallization behavior of natural rubber (NR)/halloysite nanotubes (HNT) composites is discussed. The tensile strength of NR is improved with the addition of HNT. This improvement is attributed to the unique structure of HNT, which facilitates good dispersion and strong interfacial interaction. HNT also play an important role in assisting the strain-induced crystallization of NR. Crystallization under strain is observed using synchrotron wide-angle X-ray scattering. The stress–strain curves and the corresponding degree of crystallinity after straining provide further evidence. Based on these analyses, a mechanistic model for strain-induced crystallization and the evolution of the orientation of the network structure is proposed.  相似文献

Pseudo-first-order rate constants (kobs) for alkaline hydrolysis of 4-nitrophthalimide show a monotonic decrease with increase in [C12E23]T (total concentration of Brij 35) at constant [CH3CN] and [NaOH]. This micellar effect is explained in terms of a pseudophase micelle model. The rate of hydrolysis becomes too slow to monitor at [C12E23]T≥0.03 M in the absence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTABr) and at [C12E23]T≥0.04 M in the presence of 0.006–0.02 M CTABr at 0.01 M NaOH. The plots of kobs versus [C12E23]T show minima at 0.006 and 0.01 M CTABr, while such a minimum is not visible at 0.02 M CTABr.  相似文献

Understanding CHF is of an upmost importance in many industries, especially in the design and operation of boilers, nuclear power plants, cryogenic systems, etc. Due to safety issues related to the nuclear power plants, and the adaptation of CHF as the limiting criterion of power generation, it is important to understand the mechanisms of CHF relevant to nuclear systems operation. Moreover, CHF is expected to occur during transients than steady-state conditions. Therefore, knowledge of transient CHF is of great importance for the safety evaluation of nuclear reactors under transient condition. In this paper, the existing CHF experimental and modeling studies are discussed in order to understand the phenomena leading to CHF. Also, the effect of transient conditions on CHF for nuclear fuels has been evaluated.  相似文献
