Comfort and Remus [W.W. Comfort, D. Remus, Abelian torsion groups with a pseudocompact group topology, Forum Math. 6 (3) (1994) 323–337] characterized algebraically the Abelian torsion groups that admit a pseudocompact group topology using the Ulm–Kaplansky invariants.We show, under a condition weaker than the Generalized Continuum Hypothesis, that an Abelian torsion group (of any cardinality) admits a pseudocompact group topology if and only if it admits a countably compact group topology. Dikranjan and Tkachenko [D. Dikranjan, M. Tkachenko, Algebraic structure of small countably compact Abelian groups, Forum Math. 15 (6) (2003) 811–837], and Dikranjan and Shakhmatov [D. Dikranjan, D. Shakhmatov, Forcing hereditarily separable compact-like group topologies on Abelian groups, Topology Appl. 151 (1–3) (2005) 2–54] showed this equivalence for groups of cardinality not greater than .We also show, from the existence of a selective ultrafilter, that there are countably compact groups without non-trivial convergent sequences of cardinality κω, for any infinite cardinal κ. In particular, it is consistent that for every cardinal κ there are countably compact groups without non-trivial convergent sequences whose weight λ has countable cofinality and λ>κ.  相似文献

We study the single transverse spin asymmetry for the inclusive pion production in the nucleon–nucleon collision, pp→πXppπX, based on the twist-3 mechanism in the collinear factorization. We derive the soft-fermion-pole (SFP) contribution to the twist-3 single-spin-dependent cross section associated with the twist-3 quark–gluon correlation functions in the polarized nucleon. We find that the SFP can give rise to a large effect to the asymmetry ANAN owing to the large partonic hard cross sections with the large color factor, if the SFP function has a similar magnitude as the soft-gluon-pole (SGP) function, in spite of the absence of the “derivative term” for the SFP function unlike for the SGP function.  相似文献

An effective wet cleaning process, optimized for low temperature Ge epitaxial growth on thin Ge or SiGe structures with reduced surface roughening, is proposed. It is found that HF + HCl cleaning is the most effective wet cleaning method that is applicable to the low temperature thermal cleaning. It is also found that temperature of the thermal cleaning appropriate to 25-30 nm thick germanium on insulator (GOI) or silicon-germanium on insulator (SGOI) substrates is approximately 450 °C. Moreover, it is also found that the temperatures of Ge epitaxial growth even in lattice-matched systems must be reduced to around 400 °C to prevent surface roughening and those in lattice-mismatched systems also must be reduced sufficiently (300 °C for strained Ge growth on SGOI (Xeff = 0.6)) to prevent lattice relaxation as well as surface roughening. Finally, the successful formation of the compressively strained GOI structures is demonstrated by applying these wet cleaning and low temperature thermal cleaning processes and low temperature Ge epitaxy to thin SGOI substrates.  相似文献

We experimentally implemented and proved the concept of multiplexing and demultiplexing in digital images using virtual phase conjugation, which was proposed in our previous study. In the experiment, we concluded that two digital images multiplexed in a single signal beam are recorded in a holographic medium, and these images are independently and successfully reproduced. In this method, the digital images are multiplexed by superimposing them on a complex amplitude, and not using volume hologram’s multiplexing. Thus, the exposure amount in the holographic medium is constant regardless of the number of multiplexing of digital images, and the method has great potential for achieving high recording density.  相似文献

This work seeks bringing a technological and social contribution by searching blends and composites of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) and polyethylene widely used in packaging films, and colloidal silica. The mixtures were prepared by extrusion using a single-screw extruder and were analyzed regarding their thermal and mechanical properties and morphology. The results have shown PHB toughness in the studied compositions, which elongation at break was in the range 5–80% compared to 2% for neat PHB. The small amount (0.2 to 0.4%) of added silica seemed to increase in 20% the tensile strength. The thermal degradation by thermogravimetry from room temperature to 800 °C revealed a mixed behavior for the composites between PHB and polyethylene.  相似文献

To obtain solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) having high ionic conductivity together with mechanical integrity, we have synthesized polystyrene (PSt)‐polyether (PE) diblock copolymers via one‐pot anionic polymerization. The PSt block is expected to aggregate to act as hard fillers in the SPE to enhance the mechanical property. The PE block consists of random copolymer (P(EO‐r‐MEEGE)) of ethylene oxide (EO) and 2‐(2‐methoxyethoxy) ethyl glycidyl ether (MEEGE) in different molar ratios ([EO]/[MEEGE] = 100/0, 86/14, 75/25, 68/32, and 41/59). The introduction of the MEEGE moiety in PEO reduced the crystallinity of PEO, and the fast motion of the MEEGE side chain caused plasticization of the PE block, thereby contributing to the fast ion transport. SPEs were fabricated by mixing the obtained diblock copolymer (PSEx) and lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) amide (LiTFSA) with [Li]/[O] = 0.05. Ionic conductivity of the obtained SPEs was dependent on the molar ratio of EO in the PE block (x) as well as the weight fraction of PE block (fPE) in the block copolymer. PSE0.86 (fPE = 0.65) exhibited high ionic conductivity (3.3 × 10?5 S cm?1 at 30°C; 1.1 × 10?4 S cm?1 at 60°C) comparable with that of P(EO‐r‐MEEGE) (PE0.85; fPE = 1.00) (9.8 × 10?5 S cm?1 at 30°C; 4.0 × 10?4 S cm?1 at 60°C).  相似文献

Among cationic, anionic, and merocyanine polymethine dyes, the binding to detonation nanodiamond (DND) colloid particles in hydrosol occurs only for negatively charged dye species. This, in view of the positive ζ-potential of the DND used in this study, suggests the predominance of electrostatic interactions over other intermolecular forces in such systems. Indeed, after decorating the merocyanine and the cationic dye by one and two negatively charged sulfopropyl groups, respectively, so that the net charge of their colored species becomes negative, the compounds also demonstrate affinity to the DND particles. In all cases, the binding of dyes to DND is accompanied by a decrease in fluorescence intensity and a bathochromic shift of their absorption and fluorescence bands. A quantitative study of the dyes adsorption on the DND nanoparticles as performed using the Küster-Freundlich and Langmuir equations reveals some peculiarities of their attaching to the DND aggregates and allows estimating the specific area of the DND particles at a concentration of 0.0212 wt/vol %.  相似文献

Yb 3d and valence-band photoemission spectra of the first-order valence-transition compound YbInCu4 have been measured with hard x ray at an excitation energy of 5.95 keV. Abrupt changes are clearly observed in both spectra around the transition temperature T(V)=42 K, in comparison with ultraviolet and soft x-ray photoemission (VUV-PES and SX-PES) spectra. From the Yb 3d spectra, the Yb valence has been estimated to be approximately 2.90 from 220 down to 50 K and approximately 2.74 at 30-10 K. We propose that Yb 3d hard x-ray photoemission spectroscopy is a very powerful method to estimate the valence of Yb with high accuracy. On the other hand, the Yb2+ 4f-derived peaks in the valence-band spectra exhibit a remarkable enhancement below T(V). The shape of the valence-band spectra is different from those of the VUV-PES and SX-PES spectra above T(V), reflecting the In 5s and 5p contributions.  相似文献

Electron transfer to isolated nucleotide monoanions in collisions with Na vapor induces hydrogen loss from nitrogen of the transient nucleobase anion. The cross section for this process is linearly correlated with the number of N-H hydrogens and is highest for guanine. The process is much faster than microseconds since only dehydrogenated dianions survived for mass spectrometric detection. The lifetime of the adenosine 5(')-monophospate dianions was measured to be 0.2 ms in an electrostatic ion storage ring but also a longer-lived component with a lifetime of at least 10 ms was identified. Implications of dissociation along the N-H coordinate for a nucleotide in DNA are briefly discussed in terms of Watson-Crick base pairs.  相似文献
