The elastic and thermodynamic characteristics of OsC crystal have been predicted through a method of density functional theory within the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). Compared with WC-type OsC, NaCl-type OsC is not only energy unfavorable but also mechanics unstable. The five independent elastic constants (Cij), bulk modulus (B0), the dependence of bulk modulus on temperature and pressure as well as the thermal expansion coefficient (αV) at various temperatures for WC-type OsC are discussed. According to our calculations, WC-type OsC should be an ultra-incompressible material with high bulk modulus about 381 GPa. In addition, the bulk modulus will increase with increasing pressure while decrease with increasing temperature. The researches on the thermal expansion coefficient indicate that there will be a knee point during the process of thermal expansion coefficient variation versus increasing temperature. In this paper, two average tungsten carbide particle sizes of 2, 0.5?μm are placed respectively, in contact with a WC-16Co substrate, pressed at the pressure of 4.5–5.5?GPa, and heated to temperatures ranging from 1350°C to 1500°C in a large-volume cubic press. During the process Co was forced out of the WC-16Co substrate into the compressed powder. The resulting infiltrated samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), Vickers hardness and cutting performance tests. The results of XRD confirmed that the sintered bulks have WC and Co phases. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis reveals that the WC grains in well-sintered alloys are round in shape and cobalt with lower content is uniformly dispersed in the WC grain boundaries. The sintered sub-micron WC-Co alloy with a cobalt content of 3.8?wt% exhibits a prominent combination of high hardness value of 23.1?GPa and a large fracture toughness value of 8.6?MPa?m½. We study the observability for a lepton flavor-changing decay of a Higgs boson h--> mutau at Hadron colliders. Flavor-changing couplings of a Higgs boson exist at tree level in models with multiple Higgs doublets. The hmutau coupling is particularly motivated by the favorable interpretation of nu(mu)-nu(tau) oscillation. We find that at the Tevatron run II the unique mutau signature could serve as the Higgs discovery channel, surpassing expectations for Higgs boson searches in the SM and in a large parameter region of the MSSM. The sensitivity will be greatly improved at the LHC, beyond the coverage at a muon collider Higgs factory. 相似文献

The nonisothermal crystallization behavior of polypropylene (PP) and PP-fullerene (C60) nanocomposites was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The kinetic models based on the Jeziorny, Ozawa, and Mo methods were used to analyze the nonisothermal crystallization process. The onset crystallization temperature (Tc), half-time for the crystallization (t1/2), kinetic parameter (F(T)) by the Mo method and activation energy (ΔE) estimated by the Kissinger method showed that C60 accelerates the crystallization of PP, implying a nucleating role of C60. Furthermore, due to the reduced viscosity of PP by adding 5% C60, the parameters of crystallization kinetics for the PP-5%C60 nanocomposites changed remarkably relative to that of neat PP and when lower contents of C60 were added to PP. 相似文献

The crystal structure, electronic structure and hydrogen site occupancy of LaNi4.5Al0.5Hy intermediate phase (y=2.0, 3.0, 4.0) have been investigated using the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave (FLAPW) method. For the first time we analyzed the interstitial site occupation of hydrogen atoms. The H atoms were found to prefer the 6m, 3f and 12n sites, while no 4h sites were occupied. A narrowed Ni-d band is found due to the lattice expansion: the total DOS at EF increases with y, which indicates that the compounds become less stable. The interaction between Al and Ni, with H plays a dominant role in the stability of LaNi4.5Al0.5Hy intermediate phase. The smaller the shift of EF towards the higher energy region, the more stable the compounds will be. Our results are compared with experimental data and discussed in the light of previous works. 相似文献
