Biological evaluation of novel selenazole‐based compounds as potential thioredoxin reductase inhibitors

Recently, thioredoxin reductase as a target for treatment of tumors has attracted the attention of scientists. 1,2‐[Bis(1,2‐benzisoselenazolone‐3(2 H)‐ketone)]ethane (ethaselen, BBSKE, PCT: CN02/00412), designed and synthesized previously, is an effective thioredoxin reductase inhibitor; presently it is in phase II clinical trials, targeting gastric cancer, lung cancer and colon cancer. To seek more novel and effective anticancer drugs, we have developed many selenazole‐based compounds. Evaluation of the thioredoxin reductase inhibitory effect and investigation of the mechanism of anticancer drugs require abundant thioredoxin reductase, but since commercial thioredoxin reductase is expensive its use is often limited. Therefore, the preparation of thioredoxin reductase is necessary. Base on the above investigation, in this work we have prepared thioredoxin reductase and evaluated selenazole‐based compounds, and found that 44 compounds have high inhibitory effect on thioredoxin reductase with IC₅₀ < 10 µ m , of which 16 compounds have IC₅₀ values below 1 µ m . Application of alkoxide in catalytic transfer hydrogenation of unsaturated nitrogen compounds

Alcoholate was utilized in catalytic transfer hydrogenation of unsaturated nitrogen compounds. In the reduction of nitro compounds, oximes and imines, alkoxide was used as the promoter, with alcohol as the hydrogen source, while in the reduction of nitriles, alkoxide was used as the hydrogen source.     

Quadrupole interaction in In0.95 Ag0.045 Ga0.005 alloy

The temperature dependence of the quadrupole interaction of¹¹¹Cd in the In_0.95 Ag_0.045 Ga_0.005 alloy is determined by the time differential perturbed angular correlation method from 77 to 422 K. The electric field gradients produced by the lattice are derived. The temperature dependence of the electric field gradient is found to follow theT ^3/2 law observed in In between 77 K and room temperature and to deviate from it at higher temperatures. The widths of the electric field gradient distribution are 0.1147(259), 0.0924(340), 0.4954(601) and 1.344(175) at 77, 298, 373 and 422 K, respectively. This illustrates that the alloy is well ordered at 77 and 298 K and that it becomes less ordered at 373 and 422 K.     

海洋蔓足类与宿主动物的共栖关系

蔓足类的宿主动物极为广泛，自海绵动物至脊椎动物皆有代表.生活方式有无机固着生活、兼性共栖和专主共栖3种生态类群，以共栖种类占绝对优势(48.2%).蔓足类在宿主体上的定着位置与其利用水流的方式有关，其形态结构、个体大小与宿主的生物学和习性有关.蔓足类与宿主的共栖还与系统发育有关，较古老的种类主要附着在岩石或其它无机物上，与宿主共栖的种，对宿主无明显选择性;较近代的种，对宿主则有明显选择性.     

Design strategy for flat-field Schmidt optical system

The present study provides the theory base for designing flat-field Schmidt optical systems, based on the wavefront aberration of Petzval field curvature, a mathematic model of the Petzval radius is setting up. The radius of Petzval image surface is not equal to the focal length of the primary mirror or the focal length of the system. An aberration balancing method for flat-field Schmidt optical systems design is proposed: did not change parameters of the corrector, through adjusting the distance between the plate and the mirror to realize aberration equilibrium. The total physical track is more compact than equilibrium before.     

Spin-dependent Andreev reflection in a three-terminal Aharonov-Bohm interferometer with coherent indirect coupling

Within the framework of non-equilibrium Green’s functions, we investigate the spin-dependent Andreev reflection (AR) in a three-terminal Aharonov-Bohm interferometer with double quantum dot, taking account of the coherent indirect coupling via the superconducting reservoir. It is found that the time-reversal symmetry is broken by the crossed Andreev reflection (CAR) process, and moreover that the spin-value effect of the linear conductance, the spin-polarised AR current, and a pure spin current can be generated by means of the normal AR and the CAR. Expressions for the AR conductances (the transport coefficients) governing the AR properties of this system are derived analytically. The effect of the coherent indirect coupling on the conductance, the Andreev reflected tunneling magnetoresistance (ARTMR), and the spin-related current in the presence of the AR are amply analyzed. Our results indicate that the optimal properties of this system can be realised by tuning the external parameters.     

Observation of macroscopic quantum tunneling in a single Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta surface intrinsic Josephson junction

We report on the first unambiguous observation of macroscopic quantum tunneling (MQT) in a single submicron Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) surface intrinsic Josephson junction (IJJ) by measuring its temperature-dependent switching current distribution. All relevant junction parameters were determined in situ in the classical regime and were used to predict the behavior of the IJJ in the quantum regime via MQT theory. Experimental results agree quantitatively with the theoretical predictions, thus confirming the MQT picture. Furthermore, the data also indicate that the surface IJJ, where the current flows along the c axis of the crystal, has the conventional sinphi current-phase relationship.
