We study digit expansions with arbitrary integer digits in base q (q integer) and the Fibonacci base such that the sum of the absolute values of the digits is minimal. For the Fibonacci case, we describe a unique minimal expansion and give a greedy algorithm to compute it. Additionally, transducers to calculate minimal expansions from other expansions are given. For the case of even integer bases q, similar results are given which complement those given in [6].  相似文献

In this paper, we study a variant of the finite element tearing and interconnecting (FETI) method which is suitable for elliptic PDEs with highly heterogeneous (multiscale) coefficients α(x); in particular, coefficients with strong variation within subdomains and/or jumps that are not aligned with the subdomain interfaces. Using energy minimisation and cut-off arguments we can show rigorously that for an arbitrary (positive) coefficient function the condition number of the preconditioned FETI system can be bounded by C(α) (1 + log(H/h))2 where H is the subdomain diameter and h is the mesh size, and where the function C(α) depends only on the coefficient variation in the vicinity of subdomain interfaces. In particular, if varies only mildly in a layer Ω i,η of width η near the boundary of each of the subdomains Ω i , then , independent of the variation of α in the remainder Ω i \Ω i,η of each subdomain and independent of any jumps of α across subdomain interfaces. The quadratic dependence of C(α) on H/η can be relaxed to a linear dependence under stronger assumptions on the behaviour of α in the interior of the subdomains. Photonic nanobeam microcavities are devices for applications where strong light–matter-interaction is needed. They are characterized by a strong field enhancement in a small volume, which can be used for nonlinear optical applications. To enhance such effects, a solid microcavity can be replaced by a slot, that can be infiltrated with a material of choice (e.g. chalcogenide glasses or nonlinear polymers). Here, the parameters needed to create high quality nanobeam slot microcavities are numerically investigated. Design rules for the minimization of scattering losses and thus the enhancement of the Q factor are reviewed and discussed.  相似文献

We are presenting a long-time bias stress stability of C60-based n-type organic field effect transistors (OFETs), in bottom gate, top contacts configuration, with aluminium (Al), silver (Ag) and gold (Au) source–drain contacts. The results clearly shows that the bias stress effects in C60-based n-type OFETs is similar to p-type OFETs and it can be reduced by using an appropriate metal for the source–drain contacts. During the bias stress time, the threshold voltage shift and an increase in the contacts resistance have also been measured. On the basis of the stability of the device parameters, it is proposed that the Al source–drain contact-based devices gives better stability as compared to the devices with Ag and Au source–drain contacts. Our results show that the bias stress-induced threshold voltage shift is due to the trapping of charges in the channel region and in the vicinity of the source–drain contacts.  相似文献

Purpose

Real-time tissue elastography, a qualitative elastography method, has shown promising results in the diagnostic work up of thyroid nodules. However, to our knowledge no study has evaluated a quantitative elastography method in the thyroid gland. The present study is a feasibility study evaluating Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse-Imaging, a novel quantitative elastography method in the thyroid gland.

Methods

ARFI-imaging involves the mechanical excitation of tissue using short-duration acoustic pulses to generate localized displacements in tissue. The displacements induce a lateral shear-wave propagation which is tracked using multiple laterally positioned ultrasound “tracking“ beams. Inclusion criteria were: thyroid nodules ?1 cm, non-functioning or hypo-functioning on radionuclide scanning, and cytological/histological assessment of thyroid nodule as reference method. All patients received conventional ultrasound, and examination of the thyroid gland including Power Doppler Ultrasound using a 9 MHz linear transducer, in addition real-time elastography (RTE) was performed at 9 MHz frequency and ARFI-imaging was performed at 4 MHz using Siemens (ACUSON S2000) B-mode-ARFI combination transducer.

Results

Sixty nodules in 55 patients were analyzed. Three nodules were papillary carcinoma. The stiffer the tissue the faster the shear wave propagates. The results obtained indicated that the shear wave velocity in thyroid lobes ranged between 0.5 and 4.9 m/s. The median velocity of ARFI-imaging in the healthy nodule-free thyroid gland, as well as in benign and malignant thyroid nodules was 1.98 m/s (range: 1.20-3.63 m/s), 2.02 m/s (range: 0.92-3.97 m/s), and 4.30 m/s (range: 2.40-4.50 m/s), respectively. While no significant difference in median velocity was found between healthy thyroid tissue and benign thyroid nodules, a significant difference was found between malignant thyroid nodules on the one hand and healthy thyroid tissue (p = 0.018) or benign thyroid nodules (p = 0.014) on the other hand. Specificity of ARFI-imaging for the differentiation of benign and malignant thyroid nodules was comparable with RTE (91-95%).

Conclusions

ARFI can be performed in the thyroid tissue with reliable results.  相似文献

We present recent results on single particle transverse momentum distributions of pions, kaons and protons, measured in CERN Experiment NA44, of 200 AGeV/c S+S and 158 AGeV/c Pb+Pb central collisions. By comparing these data with thermal and transport models, freeze-out parameters like the temperatureT fo and the chemical potentials (μ q ,μ s ) are extracted and discussed.  相似文献

Atom probe tomography (APT) measurements were conducted to analyze nm-sized precipitates in a Fe-25 m% Co-15 m% Mo model alloy. Calculation of isoconcentration surfaces and application of cluster-search algorithms yielded the chemical compositions of matrix and precipitates. Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) was performed in order to calculate the ratio of magnetic to nuclear scattering. This so-called A-ratio was compared with values calculated from the chemical information derived from the atom probe data. For this, the magnetism of the precipitates has to be taken into account. Ab-initio studies have been carried out to determine the magnetic moment of the precipitate phase. The results show that the extremely fine precipitates are ferromagnetic and exhibit near-equilibrium composition. In the very early stage of decomposition, however, the composition is different from near-equilibrium. The influences of the magnetism of the precipitates as well as of artifacts from atom probe measurements on the obtained results are discussed.  相似文献
