The stereochemistry of the reaction of silver benzoates on chiral di-O-aroyl-1,2 iododeoxy-3-sn-glycerols has been reinvestigated. The reaction proceeds either with or without neighbouring group participation, depending on : - possible electrophilic assistance by the silver ion to the ionisation of the substrate (occuring only with dissociated silver salts), - ability of substituants R1 and R2 on the substrates to stabilize a positive charge. Rearrangements are at minimum with R1 and R2 electronreleasing groups in the substrate, silver salts un-or weakly dissociated and bearing a good nucleophile. For one case, a regio- and stereo specific reaction is observed.  相似文献

The Principle of Imperfect Synchronization (PIS) states that a product stabilizing factor will lower the intrinsic rate of a reaction if it develops late, but increase the intrinsic rate if the factor develops early. It is shown in this paper that much of the structure-reactivity behavior of proton transfers involving carbon acids can be understood in the context of this principle. The factors discussed include the effect of resonance near the reaction site as well as in remote substituents, the polar effect of mote substituents, and the effects of solvation of reactants and products A sample matheatical formalism is developed to describe the contribution of each factor to the intrinsic rate constant. The possible reasons why there is a lack of synchronization between the various events which occur during the reaction are also discussed  相似文献

The standard Gibbs functions, enthalpies, and entropies for the formation of the complexes of monensin acid with monovalent metal cations in acetonitrile were obtained using various methods (conductometry, potentiometry, and calorimetry). Complexation is appreciable (from 2.0 to 4.5 in terms of association constant logarithm) and controlled mainly by the enthalpic effect. Comparison with formation of the corresponding neutral complexes permits a comparison to the process of monensin mediated transport of cation in membranes. A two-step process involving first the formation of the acidic complex is suggested.  相似文献

The main light-harvesting fraction from Pelvetia canaliculata was isolated on a sucrose density gradient from digitonin-solubilized chloroplasts. After further solubilization by dodecyl maltoside, the bulk fraction was separated into two subunits by preparative isoelectric focusing. The more acidic brown fraction was mainly composed of 22 kDa polypeptides having an apparent pI of 4.55. Its pigment composition was very simple, containing chlorophyll (Chi) a, Chi c and fucoxanthin. The in vivo spectral properties of fucoxanthin, namely a shift in light absorption to the green and efficient energy transmission to Chi a, were conserved in this subunit. No xanthophyll associated with photoprotection was found in this band, even when obtained from photoinhibited thalli. The less acidic green band contained predominantly 22 kDa polypeptides that were resolved into numerous components by denaturing isoelectric focusing. Its pigment composition was more complex, containing, in addition, pigments of the so-called xanthophyll cycle. In photoinhibited thalli, about half of the violaxanthin was converted into antheraxanthin and zeaxanthin. All the pigments of the xanthophyll cycle were specifically associated with this subunit, and it may thus have a central role in the thermal dissipation of the absorbed light energy as postulated for light-harvesting complex II isolated from green plants.  相似文献

Gibbs functions for transfer from water to methanol and to a full range of water + methanol mixtures were obtained for Cu2+, Cd2+, Pb2+, Hg2+, Zn2+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+ and Ba2+ using potentiometric or polarographic measurements in these solvents. In addition, data were obtained from the solubility products of the alkaline-earth iodates. In this work, we have calculated the thermodynamic parameters of the polymerization of some derivatives of the species CH2X (X = CH2, NH, O), using ab initio methods of quantum chemistry and the usual formalism of statistical thermodynamics. It is shown that the Gibbs functions ΔG(l, c) corresponding to CH2NOCH3, CNCHNCN, CF2O and all the percyano derivatives are largely positive which indicates that the spontaneous (radical or ionic) chain polymerization of these monomers is thermodynamically prohibited.  相似文献

The marketing of poultry livers is only authorized as fresh, frozen, or deep-frozen. The higher consumer demand for these products for a short period of time may lead to the marketing of frozen–thawed poultry livers: this constitutes fraud. The aim of this study was to design a method for distinguishing frozen–thawed livers from fresh livers. For this, the spectral fingerprint of liver proteins was acquired using Matrix-Assisted Laser Dissociation Ionization-Time-Of-Flight mass spectrometry. The spectra were analyzed using the chemometrics approach. First, principal component analysis studied the expected variability of commercial conditions before and after freezing–thawing. Then, the discriminant power of spectral fingerprint of liver proteins was assessed using supervised model generation. The combined approach of mass spectrometry and chemometrics successfully described the evolution of protein profile during storage time, before and after freezing-thawing, and successfully discriminated the fresh and frozen–thawed livers. These results are promising in terms of fraud detection, providing an opportunity for implementation of a reference method for agencies to fight fraud.  相似文献

Malaria remains one of the leading causes of death in sub-Saharan Africa, ranked in the top three infectious diseases in the world. Plants of the Eriosema genus have been reported to be used for the treatment of this disease, but scientific evidence is still missing for some of them. In the present study, the in vitro antiplasmodial activity of the crude extract and compounds from Eriosema montanum Baker f. roots were tested against the 3D7 strain of Plasmodium falciparum and revealed using the SYBR Green, a DNA intercalating compound. The cytotoxicity effect of the compounds on a human cancer cell line (THP-1) was assessed to determine their selectivity index. It was found that the crude extract of the plant displayed a significant antiplasmodial activity with an IC50 (µg/mL) = 17.68 ± 4.030 and a cytotoxic activity with a CC50 (µg/mL) = 101.5 ± 12.6, corresponding to a selective antiplasmodial activity of 5.7. Bioactivity-guided isolation of the major compounds of the roots’ crude extract afforded seven compounds, including genistein, genistin and eucomic acid. Under our experimental conditions, using Artemisinin as a positive control, eucomic acid showed the best inhibitory activity against the P. falciparum 3D7, a well-known chloroquine-sensitive strain. The present results provide a referential basis to support the traditional use of Eriosema species in the treatment of malaria.  相似文献

A method for determining the equilibrium association constant of a complexation reaction A + B left harpoon over right harpoon AB by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry is described. The method consists in measuring the relative intensities of the peaks corresponding to A and to AB in equimolar A-B solutions at different concentrations C(0). The results are fitted by a non-linear least-squares procedure, with the two variable parameters being the equilibrium association constant K(a) and a factor R, defined by I(AB)/I(A) = R x [AB]/[A]. The factor R is the ratio between the response factors of AB and A, and corrects for the relative electrospray responses of the complex and the free substrate A, mass discrimination of instrumental origin and/or moderate in-source dissociation. The method is illustrated with the following two systems: complexes between a double-stranded 12-base pair oligonucleotide and minor groove binders, and cyclodextrin complexes with alpha,omega-dicarboxylic acids. For the oligonucleotide complexes, it is found that the response of the complex is not dramatically different to the response of the free oligonucleotide duplex, as the double helix conformation is disturbed by the drug only to a minor extent. In the case of cyclodextrin complexes, these complexes were found to have a much higher response than free cyclodextrin. This may be due to the fact that cyclodextrin is neutral in solution, whereas the complex is charged, but it can also stem from the fact that a significant proportion of the complex is in a non-inclusion geometry. The present method requires the exact determination of the concentrations of the reactants and is applicable to 1 : 1 complexes.  相似文献

In the determination of traces of dissolved vanadium in complex matrices such as seawater, separation and enrichment from the matrix is of special importance. A wide variety of methods has been proposed for preconcentration, depending to the nature of samples and the methods to be used for measurement. Among these methods separation techniques based on sorption on to chelating resins seem convenient, rapid, and capable of achieving a high concentration factor. The methods proposed in this paper are based on the transformation of all dissolved vanadium species in seawater into organic complexes by use of synthetic complexing agents such as dithizone, luminol, or 8-hydroxyquinoline; the resulting vanadium-organic complexes were sorbed on to a C(18) column at a flow rate of 5 mL min(-1). The vanadium sorbed on the C(18) columns was then stripped by use of nitric acid (2 mol L(-1)) and analysed by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy, ICP-AES. This method was optimised and use of other chelating resins, such as chelamine, chelex-100, and immobilised 8-hydroxyquinoline and was compared by passing seawater samples directly over the resins. The experimental conditions (pH, acid used for elution, and contact time between the liquid sample and the resin) were optimised. The results were compared for all the resins used and were indicative of excellent and coherent reproducibility.  相似文献
