Existence of Solution for a Coupled System of Fractional Integro-Differential Equations on an Unbounded Domain

We present the existence of solution for a coupled system of fractional integro-differential equations. The differential operator is taken in the Caputo fractional sense. We combine the diagonalization method with Arzela-Ascoli theorem to show a fixed point theorem of Schauder.     

A virtual screening study of the acetylcholine binding protein using a relaxed–complex approach

The nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) is a member of the ligand-gated ion channel family and is implicated in many neurological events. Yet, the receptor is difficult to target without high-resolution structures. In contrast, the structure of the acetylcholine binding protein (AChBP) has been solved to high resolution, and it serves as a surrogate structure of the extra-cellular domain in nAChR. Here we conduct a virtual screening study of the AChBP using the relaxed–complex method, which involves a combination of molecular dynamics simulations (to achieve receptor structures) and ligand docking. The library screened through comes from the National Cancer Institute, and its ligands show great potential for binding AChBP in various manners. These ligands mimic the known binders of AChBP; a significant subset docks well against all species of the protein and some distinguish between the various structures. These novel ligands could serve as potential pharmaceuticals in the AChBP/nAChR systems.     

Analysis of a system of fractional differential equations

We prove existence and uniqueness theorems for the initial value problem for the system of fractional differential equations , where D^α denotes standard Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative, 0<α<1, and A is a square matrix. The unique solution to this initial value problem turns out to be , where E_α denotes the Mittag-Leffler function generalized for matrix arguments. Further we analyze the system , , 0<α<1, and investigate dependence of the solutions on the initial conditions.     

Production of a new mucilage compound in Lepidium sativum callus by optimizing in vitro growth conditions

The mucilage in Lepidium sativum L. is considered a biologically active compound with diverse medicinal properties. Different explants (hypocotyls and leaf) were transferred to Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with twelve different plant growth regulator combinations under two different incubations (light and dark). The best mucilage production from callus (36.76% g g^?1 dry weight) was obtained in the MS medium supplemented with 1 mg L^?1 of 2, 4-D and 2 mg L^?1 of BAP under the light condition. The mucilage produced by callus culture was nearly three times more than the mucilage yield of the seeds. The glucose, arabinose + mannose and galactose were 43.4 (mg g^?1 DW), 195.3 (mg g^?1 DW) and 86.2 (mg g^?1 DW) in the mucilage originated from seed, callus leaf and callus hypocotyl, respectively. The present study proposes an efficient method for producing large scales of mucilage with a favorable sugar aimed at food or pharmaceutical industries.     

A fast algorithm for the rectilinear distance location problem

In this paper, we consider the rectilinear distance location problem with box constraints (RDLPBC) and we show that RDLPBC can be reduced to the rectilinear distance location problem (RDLP). A necessary and sufficient condition of optimality is provided for RDLP. A fast algorithm is presented for finding the optimal solution set of RDLP. Global convergence of the method is proved by a necessary and sufficient condition. The new proposed method is provably more efficient in finding the optimal solution set. Computational experiments highlight the magnitude of the theoretical efficiency.

Comprehensive Study on the Binding of Iron Schiff Base Complex with DNA and Determining the Binding Mode

The iron (III) [N, N′ Bis (5-(triphenyl phosphonium methyl) salicylidene)-1, 2 ethanediamine] chloride [Fe Salen]Cl, has been synthesized and characterized as described previously. The interaction of iron complex with calf thymus (CT) DNA has been studied extensively by experimental techniques. Absorption spectra showed both hypochromism and hyperchromism. Thermal denaturation study of DNA with complex revealed the ΔT_m of 5 °C. Competitive binding study shows that the enhanced emission intensity of ethidium bromide (EB) in the presence of DNA was quenched by adding of the iron complex indicating that it displaces EB from its binding site in DNA and the apparent binding constant has been estimated to be 5?×?10⁶?μM^?1. Fluorescence Scatchard plot revealed type B behavior for interaction of complex to DNA. Circular dichroism (CD) spectra measurements showed that the complex interacts with DNA via surface and groove bindings. Linear dichroism (LD) measurements confirmed the bending of DNA in the presence of complex. Furthermore, Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) experiments approved that the binding of complex is based on both electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions. More, ITC profile exhibits the existence of two binding phases for the complex.

Diffusive Thermal Conductivity of Superfluid Fermi Gas in p-Wave State at Low Temperatures

The diffusive thermal conductivity tensor of p-wave superfluid at low temperatures is calculated by using the Boltzmann equation approach. We use the Sykes and Brooker procedure and show that K_xx is equal to K_yy and these are related to T^-1, also K_zz is proporated to T^-3.
