This study deals with the results on the concentration-dependent fluorescence properties of Tb3+-doped calcium aluminosilicate (CAS) glasses of composition (100−x)(58SiO2–23CaO–5Al2O3–4MgO–10NaF in mol%)-x Tb2O3 (x=0, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 in wt%). The FTIR reflectance spectra suggested the role of dopant ions as network modifiers in the glass network. The fluorescence spectra of low Tb3+-doped glasses have revealed prominent blue and green emissions from 5D3 and 5D4 excited levels to 7Fj ground state multiplet, respectively. The glass with 2 wt% of Tb2O3 has exhibited maximum intensity of blue emission from 5D3 level, while green emission from 5D4 level has increased linearly up to 24 wt% and showed reduction in the rate of increase for higher Tb2O3 concentrations. The concentration quenching of blue emission (5D37Fj) is attributed mainly to the resonant energy transfer (RET) assisted cross-relaxation (CR) among the excited and nearest neighbour unexcited Tb3+ ions in the glass matrix. The decline in rate of increase of green emission (5D47Fj) at higher concentrations has been explained due to a possible occurrence of cooperative energy transfers leading to 4f8→4f75d transition interactions. The blue and green emission decay kinetics have been recorded to compute the excited level (5D3 and 5D4) lifetimes, which confirmed the Tb3+ concentration quenching of the blue emission in these glasses.  相似文献

A short and stereoselective route for the synthesis of 1-hydroxyquinolizidine, an advanced synthetic intermediate for the total synthesis of (+)-epiquinamide is presented. The key synthetic steps involve diastereoselective nucleophilic addition on l-serine derived Garner aldehyde and acid mediated (PTSA) ring closing metathesis. The methodology is also elaborated successfully for the total synthesis of (+)-α-conhydrine, an important piperidine alkaloid.  相似文献

We present an analysis of the K-prime equations of state (EOS) due to Keane and Stacey. It is found that the two EOS differ significantly from each other in some important respects. K-prime represents the pressure derivative of the bulk modulus. It is shown that the volume dependence of K-prime and higher derivative properties predicted from the Keane EOS are compatible with those predicted from Stacey’s reciprocal K-prime EOS only when the Murnaghan approximation is valid. It has been emphasized that the Stacey EOS is more appropriate for describing the relationship between pressure and the bulk modulus and its pressure derivative. The results based on the two EOS have been compared and discussed.  相似文献

In many recent works, several authors demonstrated the usefulness of fractional-calculus operators in many different directions. The main object of this paper is to present, in a unified manner, a number of key results for the general -function, which is associated with a certain class of Feynman integrals, involving the Riemann-Liouville, the Weyl, and other fractional-calculus operators such as those based on the Cauchy-Goursat Integral Formula. Synthesis of boron nitride nanotubes by an oxide-assisted chemical method   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We report a new method for the synthesis of boron nitride (BN) nanotubes employing a two-step process in which some oxides have found to catalyze the growth of BN nanotubes. In the first step, a precursor containing B–N–O–Fe/Mg was prepared by ball milling a mixture of B, B2O3, Fe2O3 and MgO (1:7:2:1 mass ratio) in NH3 for 3 h. BN nanotubes (diameter: 20–100 nm) were grown in the second step from this precursor by isothermal annealing at 1,350 °C in NH3 for about 4 h. XRD, SEM and HR-TEM studies elucidated the spindle-like morphology of these nanotubes of hexagonal crystal structure. The Raman spectrum showed the peak broadening and shifts to higher frequency. The present method showed that some oxides assisted the growth of BN nanotubes. A possible reaction mechanism on the formation of BN nanotubes in the presence of these oxides is discussed.  相似文献

It is a common practice in insulator‐based dielectrophoretic separation to use and reuse PDMS‐constructed microdevice for an extended period of time while performing biological and technical replicate experiments. This is usually done to rule out any effects of device variation on separation efficiency. Ensuring that all experimental conditions remain the same is critical to the conclusion that can be drawn from such repeated experiments. One important contributing factor to the flow of materials within the device is electro‐osmotic velocity, which stems from the surface condition of the device construction materials. In this paper, we present an affordable microwave‐based (MESA‐Mgen) oxygen plasma cleaner developed for approximately less than $100 using readily obtainable parts from an average local hardware store with no specialized tools. This low‐cost room‐air microwave plasma generator was designed using an R‐4055, 400 W, 2450 MHz half‐pint household microwave oven (Sharp ® ) for exploring the possibility of sealing polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) devices onto glass with minimal budgetary commitment. Microfluidic channels generated using MESA‐Mgen were evaluated for their electro‐osmotic velocities while factors including contact angles, storage‐solvent, half‐way hydrophobicity period were also explored with MESA‐Mgen, and the results were compared to those obtained from the commercially available plasma cleaner (COM‐PC). These outcomes revealed that the MESA‐Mgen induced hydrophilicity and ensured leak‐free sealing of PDMS substrates in a manner comparable with the COM‐PC.  相似文献

In the present investigation, attempts have been made to obtain the spectral signature of the fruit jamun and to estimate the changes in biochemical composition that take place in the process of ripening of the fruits. The changes in exocarp, mesocarp, and seed of the fruit in raw and ripe stages have been investigated with the help of label-free, nondestructive, and rapid techniques: laser-induced fluorescence and attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. For this, the fluorescence spectra of the different parts (exocarp, mesocarp, and seed) of the raw and ripe fruits of jamun excited by 405?nm violet diode laser have been recorded in the spectral region 400–900?nm. The spectrum shows the spectral signature of anthocyanin, flavonoids, carotenoid, and chlorophyll. The observed decrease in the intensity of chlorophyll bands and simultaneous increase in the intensity of anthocyanin and carotenoid bands is regarded as indicator of the ripening of the fruit of jamun. Also, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectra have been recorded in the spectral region 4000–485?cm?1 for the identification of functional groups associated with different biochemical altered during ripening process of the fruits of jamun. The analyses of the recorded infrared spectra show the presence of carbohydrates, cell wall components, phenolic compounds, nucleic acid, and amide. The quantitative estimation of the biochemical content in the different parts of jamun fruit during the ripening process has been done through calculating the area of the band by curve fitting. The determined spectral signatures can be utilized for the effective monitoring of jamun fruit.  相似文献

A real-time optoelectronic refractometer having an adjustable range of refractive index measurement is presented. The adjustment is achieved by obtaining a shift in the zero-reflected intensity point at the interface following the introduction of a glass plate of refractive index different from that of the constituent prism. The sensitivity remains reasonably high over the enhanced range of refractive index measurement. The experimental results are in qualitative agreement with the theoretical calculations. This refractometer sensor, which is based on the detection of modulation in emergent light intensity, has a sturdy and user-friendly design.  相似文献
