Methods of preparation of halonitroacetic acid derivatives and study of the fungicidal activity of their amides and anilides on Sclerotinia sclerotiorum

Anilides (II)-(XIII), (XV), (XVI), (XIX), and chloronitroacetamide (XVIII) were obtained in a yield of 38–90% by ammonolysis of the corresponding dichloro- (I) and chloronitroacetyl chlorides (XIV). Dichloronitroacetanilides (II), (V), ethyl (XX), propyl (XXI) esters and amide of dichloronitroacetic acid (XXII) were obtained by chlorination of anhydrous ammonium and sodium salts by sulfuryl chloride in absolute ether. Bromination of anhydrous salts of bromo- and chloronitroacetic acids proceeds readily in absolute alcohol. The yields of the bromination [(XXIII)-(XXVIII)] and chlorination products were 49–99%. Chemistry of naphthazarin derivatives. 10. First direct observation of prototropic tautomerism of 1"-hydroxyalkylnaphthazarins by IR spectroscopy

It is found by IR spectroscopy that 1"-hydroxyalkylnaphthazarins in aprotic organic solvents exist as a mixture of the 1,4- and 1,5-naphthoquinonoid tautomers.     

Influence of olefins on the catalytic transformation of paraffins on acidic zeolites

The activity and selectivity of zeolites in n-octane cracking in a gradientless flow reactor and in a flow-circulation setup with intermediate hydrogenation have been studied. At concentrations lower or equal to 10^–3 mmol/l, olefins are not involved in the cleavage of paraffin molecules. At concentrations higher than 10^–3 mmol/l, olefins act as promoters of the cracking reactions.

Cycloaddition of anhydro bases of heterocyclic cations. 2. Synthesis of spirocyclic and carcass structures in the reaction of s-tetrazines with the anhydro base of a quaternary lepidinium salt

The anhydro base of an N-methyllepidinium salt reacts with s-tetrazines to give spiro hetarenes with 4,5- and 1,4-dihydropyridazine structures. The regioselectivity of the cycloaddition was established. Reaction of 7-ethyl-2,3,6-trimethoxynaphthazarin with NH₃·H₂O proceeds at the carbonyl groups at the C(4) atoms of the 1,4-naphthoquinonoid tautomeric forms. Methoxy group adjacent to ethyl group is the orienting substituent in this reaction.

Reaction of 2-trifluoromethylchromones with cyanoacetic and malonic esters. Synthesis of new benzo[c]coumarin derivatives

Reflux of 2-trifluoromethylchromones with ethyl cyanoacetate and diethyl malonate in ethanol in the presence of sodium ethoxide furnished a number of new benzo[c]coumarin derivatives, which were formed with involvement of two ester molecules.
