Summary Six commercial hydrogen standards containing helium, oxygen, nitrogen, methane and carbon dioxide at trace levels were analyzed by gas chromatography, for periods up to 105 days. The concentrations, in the range of 0–120 μmol mol−1, were stable (with the exception of oxygen) but often significantly different from the certified values provided by the suppliers, especially for helium, oxygen and nitrogen. Concurrently, some experiments were carried out to verify the stability of gas mixtures based on hydrogen stored in cylinders submitted to different chemical and physical treatments. Propolis is a balsamic product obtained from vegetable resins by exotic Africanized bees Apis mellifera L., transported and processed by them, originating from the activity that explores and maintains these individuals. Because of its vegetable and natural origins, propolis is a complex mixture of different compound classes; among them are the volatile compounds present in the aroma. In this sense, in the present study we evaluated the volatile fraction of propolis present in the aroma obtained by distillation and simultaneous extraction, and its chemical composition was determined using coupled gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, and flame ionization detection. The majority of compounds were sesquiterpene and hydrocarbons, comprising 8.2–22.19% α-copaene and 6.2–21.7% β-caryophyllene, with additional compounds identified in greater concentrations. Multivariate analysis showed that samples collected from one region may have different chemical compositions, which may be related to the location of the resin’s production. We prove a sharp estimate for the k-modulus of smoothness, modelled upon a Lp-Lebesgue space, of a function f in WkLpnn+kp,p(Ω), where Ω is a domain with minimally smooth boundary and finite Lebesgue measure, k,nN, k<n and nn?k<p<+. This sharp estimate is used to establish necessary and sufficient conditions for continuous embeddings of Sobolev-type spaces into generalized Hölder spaces defined by means of the k-modulus of smoothness. General results are illustrated with examples. In particular, we obtain a generalization of the classical Jawerth embeddings.  相似文献

We establish necessary and sufficient conditions for embeddings of Bessel potential spaces H σ X(IR n ) with order of smoothness σ?∈?(0, n), modelled upon rearrangement invariant Banach function spaces X(IR n ), into generalized Hölder spaces (involving k-modulus of smoothness). We apply our results to the case when X(IR n ) is the Lorentz-Karamata space \(L_{p,q;b}({{\rm I\kern-.17em R}}^n)\). In particular, we are able to characterize optimal embeddings of Bessel potential spaces \(H^{\sigma}L_{p,q;b}({{\rm I\kern-.17em R}}^n)\) into generalized Hölder spaces. Applications cover both superlimiting and limiting cases. We also show that our results yield new and sharp embeddings of Sobolev-Orlicz spaces W k?+?1 L n/k(logL) α (IR n ) and W k L n/k(logL) α (IR n ) into generalized Hölder spaces.  相似文献

Consider a compact Riemannian manifold M of dimension n whose boundary ?M is totally geodesic and is isometric to the standard sphere S n?1. A natural conjecture of Min-Oo asserts that if the scalar curvature of M is at least n(n?1), then M is isometric to the hemisphere $S_{+}^{n}$ equipped with its standard metric. This conjecture is inspired by the positive mass theorem in general relativity, and has been verified in many special cases.
