We have performed a search for the rare leptonic decay B+-->mu(+)nu(mu) with data collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II storage ring. In a sample of 88.4 x 10(6) BB pairs, we find no significant evidence for a signal and set an upper limit on the branching fraction B(B+-->my(+)nu(my))< 6.6 x 10(-6) at the 90% confidence level.  相似文献

We present results on time-dependent CP asymmetries in neutral B decays to several CP eigenstates. The measurements use a data sample of about 88 x 10(6) Upsilon(4S)-->B(-)B decays collected between 1999 and 2002 with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC. We study events in which one neutral B meson is fully reconstructed in a final state containing a charmonium meson and the other B meson is determined to be either a B(0) or B(-0) from its decay products. The amplitude of the CP asymmetry, which in the standard model is proportional to sin2beta, is derived from the decay-time distributions in such events. We measure sin2beta=0.741+/-0.067(stat)+/-0.034(syst) and |lambda|=0.948+/-0.051(stat)+/-0.030(syst). The magnitude of lambda is consistent with unity, in agreement with the standard model expectation of no direct CP violation in these modes.  相似文献

We have observed the decays B--> phiK and phiK(*) in a sample of over 45 million B mesons collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II collider. The measured branching fractions are B(B+--> phiK+) = (7.7(+1.6)(-1.4)+/-0.8)x10(-6), B(B0--> phiK0) = (8.1(+3.1)(-2.5)+/-0.8)x10(-6), B(B+--> phiK(*+)) = (9.7(+4.2)(-3.4)+/-1.7)x10(-6), and B(B0--> phiK(*0)) = (8.7(+2.5)(-2.1)+/-1.1)x10(-6). We also report the upper limit B(B+--> phipi(+))<1.4x10(-6) ( 90% C.L.).  相似文献

A simple, point of care, inexpensive, disposable cassette for the detection of nucleic acids extracted from pathogens was designed, constructed, and tested. The cassette utilizes a single reaction chamber for isothermal amplification of nucleic acids. The chamber is equipped with an integrated, flow-through, Flinders Technology Associates (Whatman FTA?) membrane for the isolation, concentration, and purification of DNA and/or RNA. The nucleic acids captured by the membrane are used directly as templates for amplification without elution, thus simplifying the cassette's flow control. The FTA membrane also serves another critical role-enabling the removal of inhibitors that dramatically reduce detection sensitivity. Thermal control is provided with a thin film heater external to the cassette. The amplification process was monitored in real time with a portable, compact fluorescent reader. The utility of the integrated, single-chamber cassette was demonstrated by detecting the presence of HIV-1 in oral fluids. The HIV RNA was reverse transcribed and subjected to loop-mediated, isothermal amplification (LAMP). A detection limit of less than 10 HIV particles was demonstrated. The cassette is particularly suitable for resource poor regions, where funds and trained personnel are in short supply. The cassette can be readily modified to detect nucleic acids associated with other pathogens borne in saliva, urine, and other body fluids as well as in water and food.  相似文献

We report tandem alkyl‐arylations and phosphonyl‐arylations of vinyl ureas by way of a photocatalytic radical‐polar crossover mechanism. Addition of photoredox‐generated radicals to the alkene forms a new C?C or C?P bond and generates a product radical adjacent to the urea function. Reductive termination of the photocatalytic cycle generates an anion that undergoes a polar Truce–Smiles rearrangement, forming a C?C bond. The reaction is successful with a range of α‐fluorinated alkyl sodium sulfinate salts and diarylphosphine oxides as radical precursors, and the conformationally accelerated Truce–Smiles rearrangement is not restricted by the electronic nature of the migrating aromatic ring. Formally the reaction constitutes an α,β‐difuctionalisation of a carbon–carbon double bond, and proceeds under mild conditions with visible light and a readily available organic photocatalyst. The products are α,α‐diaryl alkylureas typically functionalized with F or P substituents that may be readily converted into α,α‐diaryl alkylamines.  相似文献

Nanosized semiconductors (semiconductor clusters) have the potential to revolutionize the fields of photooxidation and photocatalysis through the combined effects of quantum confinement and their unique surface morphologies. Photocatalytic oxidation as applied to environmental remediation (i.e., detoxification of chemical wastes), green/sustainable chemistry, as well as alternative energy paths (i.e., splitting of H 2 O to produce H 2 ) has already experienced improvements in activity, efficiency, and stability through the use of semiconductor nanoclusters based on materials such as TiO 2 , MoS 2 , WS 2 , MoSe 2 , FeS 2 , and SnO 2 . Issues such as improved control of size and surface chemistry play an important role in the success of these semiconductor nanocatalysts. This review explores the effect of advances in the fields of nanoscience and photocatalysis for current and future applications.  相似文献

Let n be a positive integer. For each \({0 \leq j \leq n-1}\), we let \({C_{n}^{j}}\) denote Cayley graph for the cyclic group \({\mathbb{Z}_n}\) with respect to the subset \({\{1, j\}}\). For any such pair (n, j), we compute the size of the Grothendieck group of the Leavitt path algebra \({L_K(C_{n}^{j})}\); the analysis is related to a collection of integer sequences described by Haselgrove in the 1940s. When j = 0, 1, or 2, we are able to extract enough additional information about the structure of these Grothendieck groups so that we may apply a Kirchberg-Phillips-type result to explicitly realize the algebras \({L_K(C_{n}^{j})}\) as the Leavitt path algebras of graphs having at most three vertices. The analysis in the j = 2 case leads us to some perhaps surprising and apparently nontrivial connections to the classical Fibonacci sequence.  相似文献

We present a measurement of the cross section of the process e(+)e(-)-->pi(+)pi(-)psi(2S) from threshold up to 8 GeV center-of-mass energy using events containing initial-state radiation, produced at the SLAC PEP-II e(+)e(-) storage rings. The study is based on 298 fb(-1) of data recorded with the BABAR detector. A structure is observed in the cross section not far above threshold, near 4.32 GeV. We also investigate the compatibility of this structure with the Y(4260) previously reported by this experiment.  相似文献
