ESR Studies on a Friedel‐Crafts Alkylation Reaction in [bmim]Cl‐AlCl3 Ionic Liquid

The paramagnetic complexes formed in Friedel‐Crafts alkylation reaction systems are invistigated by electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy, in room temperature ionic liquids system 1‐butyl‐3‐methyl‐limidazolium chloride‐aluminium chloride ([bmim]Cl‐AlCl₃). The results indicate that ESR spectra observed are due to polycyclic aromatic radical cations formed from their parent hydrocarbons. ESR spectrum of spin adduct is obtained in an ionic liquid system composed of [bmim]Cl‐AlCl₃. In acidic solution the ¹⁴N hyperfine coupling constant of 4‐oxo‐TEMPO, 2.15 mT, is appreciably larger due to an adduct formed with AlCl₃.     

Ultrasensitive small molecule fluorogenic probe for human heparanase

Heparanase (HPA) is a critical enzyme involved in the remodeling of the extracellular matrix (ECM), and its elevated expression has been linked with diseases such as various types of cancer and inflammation. The detection of heparanase enzymatic activity holds tremendous value in the study of the cellular microenvironment, and search of molecular therapeutics targeting heparanase, however, no structurally defined probes are available for the detection of heparanase activity. Here we present the development of the first ultrasensitive fluorogenic small-molecule probe for heparanase enzymatic activity via tuning the electronic effect of the substrate. The probe exhibits a 756-fold fluorescence turn-on response in the presence of human heparanase, allowing one-step detection of heparanase activity in real-time with a picomolar detection limit. The high sensitivity and robustness of the probe are exemplified in a high-throughput screening assay for heparanase inhibitors.

Heparanase, a critical enzyme involved in the remodeling of the extracellular matrix, activates a disaccharide probe HADP to give a strong fluorescence signal.     

Interference-free determination of Sudan dyes in chilli foods using second-order calibration algorithms coupled with HPLC-DAD

This paper presents a new method for the determination of Sudan dyes contained in hot chilli samples. The method employs second-order calibration algorithms to handle the recorded data. The second-order calibration algorithms are based on the popular parallel factor analysis (PARAFAC), alternating trilinear decomposition (ATLD) and self-weighted alternating trilinear decomposition (SWATLD), respectively. These chemometric methodologies have the second-order advantage, which is the ability to get accurate concentration estimates of interested analytes even in the presence of uncalibrated interfering components. The results on a set of spiked chilli test shows that low contents of Sudan I and Sudan II in complex chilli mixtures can be accurately determined using the new method. The sample preparation was based on solvent extraction, and internal standard was not required. Quantification was carried out with simple mobile phase.     

Self－assembly of Novel Hetero[3]rotaxane, [2]Rotaxanes and [2]Catenane

One linear template 13 and one cyclophane template 15, both incorporating two electron rich 1,4‐dialkoxybenzene units and one diamide unit, have been synthesized. By utilizing donor‐acceptor interaction and/or intermolecular hydrogen bonding assembling principles, one novel hetero[3]rotazane 22·4Cl, possessing one neutral and one tetracationic ring components, has been synthesized from 13, through neutral [2]rotaxane 21 as intermediate. With 15 as template, tetracationic [2]catenane 23·4PF₆ was assembled by using donor‐acceptor interaction, but no neutral [2]rotaxane could be obtained under the typical conditions of hydrogen bonding assembling principle. The interlocked supramolecular compounds have been characterized and their spectral properties are investigated.     

B20N20团簇的结构与稳定性

B3LYP/6-31G* density functional theory calculations have been carried out on the structure and stability of ten B20N20 clusters. It was found that two new proposed isomers with two octagons, twelve hexagons, eight squares in Cab and C2 symmetry were more stable than the isomer with sixteen hexagons and six squares in C2 symmetry which was previously deemed to the most stable by 79.5 and 13.8 kJ/mol respectively. The isomer with two decagons in S10 symmetry is much higher in energy than the most stable structure in C4h symmetry by 637.2 kJ/mol.     

Low-molecular-weight photoresponsive supramulecular hydrogel based on a dicationic azobenzene-bridged pyridinium hydrogelator

Photoresponsive supramolecular hydrogel was fabricated from a small azobenzene-bridged dicationic pyridinium salt in the aqueous solution. The UV-vis light triggered reversible gel-sol transformation of such low-molecular-weight supramolecular hydrogel was systematically investigated through various analytical techniques.     

Determination of adrenaline by using inhibited Ru(bpy)3 electrochemiluminescence

Adrenaline was found to inhibit strongly the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) from the Ru(bpy)₃²⁺/tripropylamine system when a working Pt electrode was maintained at 1.05 V (versus Ag/AgCl) in pH 8.0 phosphate buffer. On this basis, a flow injection (FI) procedure with inhibited electrochemiluminescence detection has been developed for determination of adrenaline. The method exhibited a good reproducibility, sensitivity, and stability with a detection limit (signal-to-noise ratio = 3) of 7.0×10⁻⁹ mol l⁻¹ and dynamic concentration range of 2×10⁻⁸ to 1×10⁻⁴ mol l⁻¹. The relative standard deviation was 2.2% for 1.0×10⁻⁶ mol l⁻¹ adrenaline (n=11). The method was successfully applied to the determination of adrenaline in pharmaceutical samples. Moreover, ECL emission spectra, UV-Vis absorption spectra and cyclic voltammograms of Ru(bpy)₃²⁺/tripropylamine/adrenaline were studied. The inhibition mechanism has been proposed as the interaction of electrogenerated Ru(bpy)₃^2+* and the o-benzoquinone derivatives, adrenochrome and adrenalinequinone, at the electrode surface.     

Bistatic scattering by arbitrarily shaped objects with rough surface at optical and infrared frequencies

The scattering cross sections for arbitrarily shaped dielectric objects with rough surface are determined for optical and infrared frequencies using the Kirchhoff approximation. The formula of the coherent scattering cross section is derived, and numerical method of incoherent scattering cross section is given. As a specific example, the infrared laser scattering cross sections of rough spheres are calculated at 1.06 m.     

XPS定量分析及其在CdTe（Ⅲ）面识别化学物种中的应用

我们用谱仪能量传输函数修正的相对原子灵敏度因子获得了ＸＰＳ定量数据。通过将定量结果与结合能的化学位移相结合的方法，分析了ＣｄＴｅ表面的两个氧化过程，结果表明，机械抛光样品表面的构成是：６６％ＣｄＴｅ，２８．９％的Ｃｄ（ＯＨ）２和５．１％ＴｅＯｘ（Ｘ＞２），而经化学抛光的表面构成是∶８４．４％的ＴｄＴｅＯ４和１５．６％ＴｅＯｘ（Ｘ＞１）。
