Trans-membrane redox reactions mediated by t-amylferrocene (one-electron carrier) were studied kinetically in a liposome system separating two redox pairs (ferricyanide/ferrocyanide and dehydroascorbate/ascorbate). In order to eliminate the membrane potential generated, which suppressed the rate of the reaction, the rate was measured in the presence of carbonylcyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone. The reaction rate was independent of concentrations of ascorbate and dehydroascorbate. Ferricyanide also had virtually no effect on the rate, but addition of ferrocyanide decreased it. The results were analysed on the basis of rate equations derived from the possible reaction mechanism, and it was concluded that the rate-determining step of the trans-membrane redox reaction was the process of diffusion of the mediator in the membrane.  相似文献

A regio-/chemoselective silylation reaction of various functionalized terminal alkenes in the presence of titanocene dichloride, based on a newly designed dianion-type zincate, was developed. In lightwave community antena television (CATV) systems as well as other optical fiber communication networks, a transmitted optical signal is known to be degraded by an intensity noise produced within the fiber due to the interference between the signal and doubly reflected light. We report on the improvements to the signal degradation due to the double Rayleigh backscattering by inserting optical isolators in the trunk lines of the systems. A carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR) has been calculated as a function of the number and the insertion loss of the isolators. The calculated results indicate that there is an optimum number of isolators, and if the insertion loss is less than 0.3 dB, the CNR degradation can be restored by more than 60%. To test the calculated results, we conducted experiments for the specific case of employing one isolator, and obtained good agreements between the two.  相似文献

The turbidity oscillations of self-oscillating polymers in the Belousov-Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction system depending on the crown ether receptors contained in the polymer network have been studied. The three monomers are copolymerized, namely, N-isopropylacrylamide, the metal catalyst monomer for the BZ reaction, and the crown ether receptor monomer, to prepare the self-oscillating polymers used in this study. The turbidity oscillations are characterized by monitoring the transmittance of the polymer solution in the BZ reaction system at a specific wavelength of 570 nm. The oscillations are varied by crown ether receptors used in the polymerization process, i.e., BCAm(6) or BCAm(5), for the selective recognition of specific cations between potassium and sodium ions in the solution. The selective recognition of the BCAm receptors in the polymer chain for the two ions has brought out a variation in the turbidity oscillations by a change in the hydrophilicity of the polymer chain. The oscillations of the polymer solution composed of the BCAm(5) receptor are more influenced by sodium ion, while the polymer solution of BCAm(6) receptor is affected by potassium ion. However, the oscillation patterns of the redox changes obtained by these solution systems look much alike despite the differences in the polymer chain by crown ether receptors and cations of bromate used for the BZ reaction.  相似文献

The chemical aspects of the circadian leaf movement known as "nyctinasty" are discussed in this paper. Each of the nyctinastic plants of five different genera so far examined contained a pair of factors, one of which induced leaf closure and another induced leaf opening. The relative contents of the closing and opening factors changed correlating with the nyctinastic leaf movement. The use of fluorescence-labeled and photoaffinity-labeled factors revealed that the factors bind to specific cells, the motor cells, present in the pulvini, and that the membrane fraction of the motor cells contained two proteins of 210 and 180 kDa, which can bind to the factors.  相似文献

Object

Although three-dimensional (3D), high-spatial resolution susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) appears to be valuable in the evaluation of central nervous system gliomas, several evaluation methods are proposed in the literature. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of 3D SWI for grading intracranial gliomas with various analysis methods.

Materials and Methods

Twenty-three patients suspected of having gliomas participated in this study. SWI was performed in addition to conventional MR sequences. In 15 cases, post-gadolinium enhanced SWI was also obtained. Imaging evaluation criteria were conventional grade, hypointensity ratio in the tumor-dominant structure of hypointensity on SWI (hemorrhage or vascular structure) and presence of abnormal enhancement surrounding the tumor.

Results

Mean grading scores of conventional grade showed no statistically significant difference among WHO grades. Mean grading scores of hypointensity ratios in the tumor were higher for WHO Grades 3 and 4 than for lower grade tumors (P=.05, Mann–Whitney U test). Hemorrhagic foci were more frequently seen in the higher grade tumor. Post-contrast susceptibility-weighted images of five of 11 WHO Grade 3 and 4 cases showed bright enhancement surrounding the tumor, suggesting a breakdown of the blood–brain barrier.

Conclusions

SWI at 3 T may be a useful method to analyze the structural characteristics of gliomas and to evaluate pathology in vivo. Assessment of hypointensity ratios in the glioma was the most preferable method in grading glioma. However, more studies, specifically concerning a suitable method for image analysis, are needed to establish SWI at 3 T as a useful tool in clinical routine.  相似文献

Europium-doped yttrium oxide (Y2O3:Eu) thin films were successfully deposited on quartz and ITO/glass substrates by excimer-laser-assisted metal organic deposition (ELAMOD) at low temperatures. The effects of laser wavelength and thermal temperature on the films’ crystallinity and photoluminescence properties were investigated. Films irradiated by an ArF laser at 80 mJ/cm2 and 400–500°C were highly crystallized compared with those prepared by thermal MOD. In contrast, when the film was irradiated by a KrF laser at 500°C, no crystalline Y2O3:Eu was formed. The Y2O3:Eu film irradiated by the ArF laser at 80 mJ/cm2 and 500°C showed typical PL spectra of Eu3+ ions with cubic symmetry and a 5D07F2 transition at ∼612 nm. The PL intensity at 612 nm was much higher for the film prepared with ELAMOD than for that prepared by the thermal-assisted process, and the photoemission intensity of the film prepared with ELAMOD strongly depended on the substrate material.  相似文献

In order to crystallize a large quantity of the lithium?mica in glass?ceramics, 5.1 mass% MgF2 was added to the starting materials of the parent glasses having chemical compositions of Li(1+x)Mg3AlSi3(1+x)O10+6.5xF2 (x = 0.5 and 1.0). Transparent glass?ceramics, in which a large quantity of lithium?mica with particle size of <50 nm was separated, could be prepared from the MgF2-added parent glass with x = 0.5. While the parent glass, which had a binodal phase separation structure, did not exhibit electrical conductivity, the transparent glass–ceramic was given conductivity by the formation of an interlocking structure of mica. As the separated mica formed a tighter interlocking structure, the conductivity increased and reached a value of 2.0 × 10?3 S/cm at 600 °C. The MgF2-added parent glass with x = 1.0 was not transparent because of coarse spinodal phase separation. The conductivity was 4.3 × 10?4 S/cm at 600 °C but was significantly decreased by the separation of mica.  相似文献

This review summarizes the use of photoreactions that replace conventional heating processes for growing oxide thin films from chemical solutions. In particular, this review outlines key variables in photoreactions that affect epitaxial and polycrystalline thin film growth, including precursor materials, laser wavelength, laser fluence, and carbon. In addition, the features of the photoreaction process that can be controlled at a low temperature by oxygen non-stoichiometry are examined. Likewise, functions that are neither achieved by developing a gradient structure nor controlled by a thermal equilibrium reaction are detailed. Two new concepts are presented, known as photoreaction of nanoparticles (PRNP) and photoreaction of a hybrid solutions (PRHS), in which crystal nuclei are pre-dispersed in a metal–organic compound film. This method has successfully produced flexible phosphor films used as resistor or thermistor electronic components. Finally, thin film growth using different light sources such as flash lamps and femtosecond lasers (fs) is explored.  相似文献
