Emulgel is a new innovatory technique for drug development permitting controlled release of active ingredients for topical administration. We report a stable emulgel of 4% Piper nigrum extract (PNE) prepared using 80% ethanol. The PNE-loaded formulation had an antioxidant activity of 84% and tyrosinase inhibition was 82%. Prepared formulation rendered spherical-shaped globules with high zeta potential (−45.5 mV) indicative of a stable system. Total phenolic contents were 58.01 mg GAE/g of dry extract whereas total flavonoid content was 52.63 mg QE/g of dry extract. Sun protection factor for PNE-loaded emulgel was 7.512 and formulation was stable without any evidence of physical and chemical changes following 90 days of storage. Gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) revealed seventeen bioactive compounds in the PNE including monoterpenoids, triterpenoids, a tertiary alcohol, fatty acid esters, and phytosterols. In silico studies of GC-MS identified compounds show higher binding affinity in comparison to standard kojic acid indicating tyrosinase inhibition. It can be concluded that PNE-loaded emulgel had prominent antioxidant and tyrosinase inhibition and can be utilized as a promising topical system for anti-aging skin formulation.  相似文献

Constructing visible-light-active Z-scheme heterojunctions has proven fruitful in enhancing the photocatalytic activity of photocatalysts for superior water clean-up. Herein, we report the fabrication of a CoFe2O4@Bi2O3/NiO (CBN) Z-scheme nanoheterojunction. The obtained CBN heterojunction was used for visible-light-assisted degradation of ofloxacin (OFL) in water. The OFL degradation efficiency achieved by the CBN heterojunction was 95.2% in 90 min with a rate constant of kapp = 0.03316 min−1, which was about eight times that of NiO and thirty times that of CoFe2O4. The photocatalytic activity of a Bi2O3/NiO Z-scheme heterojunction was greatly enhanced by the visible activity and redox mediator effect of the cobalt ferrite co-catalyst. Higher charge-carrier separation, more visible-light capture, and the Z-scheme mechanism in the Z-scheme system were the important reasons for the high performance of CBN. The scavenging experiments suggested O2 as an active species for superior OFL degradation. The possible OFL degradation pathway was predicted based on LC-MS findings of degradation intermediate products. The magnetic nature of the CBN helped in the recovery of the catalyst after reuse for six cycles. This work provides new insights into designing oxide-based heterojunctions with high visible-light activity, magnetic character, and high redox capabilities for potential practical applications in environmental treatment.  相似文献

Syzygium cumini, also called Jamun, or black plum, is an excellent source of bioactive components such as flavonoids, polyphenols, antioxidants, iron, and vitamin C. The Jamun tree is a tropical evergreen blooming plant and is an important medicinal plant from the Myrtaceae family that has been used for a long time in Indian and other traditional medicines across the world. Jamun is mainly cultivated in Asian countries such as Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Since ancient medicine, it has been utilized to treat a variety of diseases and physiological conditions. Currently, it is mostly used as a medication to treat various metabolic issues, including diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, obesity, etc. Therefore, Jamun could serve a beneficial role against metabolic syndrome (MS). In this work, the latest available scientific literature on Jamun was collected and the clinical trials investigating its effect on diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and hyperlipidemia were analyzed to find out how Jamun could improve the symptoms and biomarkers of MS. Overall, the results of this study found a significant association of Jamun with the prevention and treatment of these biomarkers of MS. In many studies, Jamun showed pharmacological modifications not only in MS but in many other diseases as well. Currently, its utilization as a folk medicine for the treatment of patients with MS is widely acknowledged. Hence, the findings of a large number of clinical studies confirmed the ameliorating effects of Jamun against MS due to its antioxidation, antidiabetic, anti-inflammation anticarcinogenic, and hyperlipidemic effects. More research is still needed to determine and identify the Jamun compounds and to elucidate their mechanisms of action that are responsible for these astounding bioactive properties and health benefits.  相似文献

In this paper, a number of non-regular bicriteria penalty functions of completion times on a single machine are studied. In each function, one criterion is a measure of central tendency (CT) of completion times, for example, mean or median, and the other is a measure of completion time dispersion (DSP). Five different DSP measures are considered in the paper. We discuss the characterizations of optimal sequences for some new functions and summarize previous results when appropriate for the pure bicriteria problem as well as for the convex combination of CT and DSP. Further, in the context of minimizing a dispersion measure, a comparison is made between the two dispersion measures of variance of completion times and total absolute deviations of completion times (TADC).  相似文献

A 4π light charged particle spectrometer, named 8πLP, is in operation at the Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro (Italy) for the study of the reaction mechanisms produced in low-energy heavy-ion reactions. The spectrometer has recently been used in a study of fission dynamics that involves the detection of light charged particles in the fission and evaporation residue channel in a system of intermediate fissility, as well as in a study of multinucleon transfer to heavy target. Data on the system 240 MeV 32S + 100Mo are presented. Dynamical effects extracted as a consequence of the comparison of the data to the statistical model calculations are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we study some aspects of the category L-ZTop of zero-dimensional L-topological spaces. After noting that it is a topological category, we identify a ‘Sierpinski object’ LZ in it. We further show that two epireflective hulls of LZ respectively turn out to be the categories of zero-dimensional T0-L-topological spaces and of zero-dimensional sober L-topological spaces. We also determine the coreflective hull of LZ in the category of L-topological spaces.  相似文献

Epitaxial thin films of ferromagnetic La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) and charge‐ordered, antiferromagnetic Y0.5Ca0.5MnO3 (YCMO) were deposited on SrTiO3 (100) substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The heterostructure undergoes tetragonal distortion due to strong biaxial tensile strain imposed by the substrate. The LSMO–YCMO bilayers exhibit significant exchange bias (EB) across the interface even in a very small remnant magnetic field (~5 Oe) present in the superconductor magnet. The unidirectional exchange anisotropy at the interface can be switched by reversing the polarity of the remnant magnetic field.

A simple, efficient, and environmentally benign method for a three-component reaction of an amine, an aldehyde or a ketone, and diethyl phosphite catalyzed by Amberlite-IR 120 resin has been developed to afford α-amino phosphonates in high yields and short reaction times under solvent-free reaction conditions. The major advantages of the present method are good yields, inexpensive, ecofriendly and reusable catalyst, mild and solvent-free reaction conditions and tolerance towards various functionalities present in the substrates.  相似文献
