Conclusions The reaction of CCl₄ and CHCl₃ with CCl₂=CHR, where R=(CH₂)₃H (I) and (CH₂)₃Cl (II), gives compounds of type HCCl₂CH(CCl₃)R, and the adducts HCCl₂CH(CCl)₂CH₂CH₂CH₂Cl (V) from (I) and HCCl₂CH·(CCl₃)CH₂CH₂CHCl₂ (VIII) from (II).From CCl₄ and CC1₂=CHCH₂CH₂CH=CH₂, besides the usual addition product CCl₂=CHCH₂CH₂CHClCH₂· CCl₃, is formed 1,1-dichloro-2-(trichIoromethyl)-5-(chloromethyl)cyclopentane due to stabilization of the CCl₂CH(CCl₃)R radical by intramolecular addition to the CH=CH₂ group and the subsequent cleavage of chlorine.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 7, pp. 1569–1574, July, 1975.     

Use of the Vaskovsky-Svetashev reagent for complex detection of phospholipids and in their preparative separation by the TLC method

It has been established that the Vaskovsky-Svetashev reagent has no influence on the general and positional composition of the fatty acids of phospholipids. Hydroxy acids of the seed oils of five plants of the family Asteraceae

A comparative study has been made of the fatty hydroxy acids and epoxy acids of the seed oils ofArtemisia absinthium, Arctium tomentosum, Onopordum acanthium, Onopardum olgae, andCousinia severzovii by GLC, TLC, and IR and mass spectroscopy. A five-coordinate complex of copper chloride with 2-amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole

A complex of Cu(II) chloride with 2-amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole (AET) was prepared, and its structure was studied by IR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex has the composition CuCl₂(AET)₄. The coordination sphere of the copper atom includes four molecules of the heterocyclic ligand coordinated via N atoms of thiadiazole rings and one of Cl^? anions; the second Cl^? anion is in the outer sphere.

Reaction of 5-haloanthra[1,9-cd]-6-isoxazolones with aziridine

TPD study of catalyst surface acidity

Acidity of catalyst surfaces of different nature such as -Al₂O₃, natural zeolite-clinoptilolite, and synthetic zeolite zeokar by adsorption of ammonia over a wide temperature range has been studied. Ammonia is adsorbed on the catalysts with different strengths, as evidenced by the presence of different types of acid sites.

Extraction of uranium(VI) with non-plasticized and TBP-plasticized polyurethane foam sorbents loaded with dibenzoylmethane

Studies have shown that plots of the log of the distribution ratio versus pH for the distribution of uranium(VI) between non-plasticized and TBP-plasticized dibenzoylmethane-loaded polyurethane foams and dilute aqueous uranium(VI) solutions have a limiting slope of 0.6 at equilibrium pH values 4 and reach a maximum distribution constant at about pH 6.0. The results indicate that the extracted complex is a simple chelate, UO₂Me₂, where HMe denotes dibenzoylmethane. Plasticization of the foam with TBP has been found to significantly enhance the rate of extraction.
